Dorann watched as Nuru Krest, another member on the Council of Eminence, made his appearance at the dinner. He was dressed in a formal black attire, extending as a coat around his large figure. He was the High Immortal, and a man highly trained in the Force and military tactics. He personally had assisted in the designs of the Immortal Order exclusive technology, advancing their range of operations. He was a highly valued general in the Chiss Ascendancy, and had thoroughly stepped up when Dorann and the others contacted each other. When the Chiss were in a desperate time of need, scattered and blind with the disappearance of their last leader, Krest filled Xaphan's position, coordinating and managing the faction respectively.

As the High Immortal observed the gathering around him, another had approached the Grand Imperator and Empress, greeting Andraste with a simple, "Ma'am." He stood with a glazed expression, obviously drunk, and had gotten his relaxation out of the way. At least he wasn't passed out in the corner, and a man able to keep his demeanor in public was respectable. The Empress replied to him with a surprising casualness, addressing the man as if he were an old friend. Dorann still didn't know the Imperial Empress very well, but he knew that she must have had some kind of attachment with the man. He thought perhaps there was much more to see of her than merely the Dark Lady of the Sith, thinking again of the absent obsession he felt.

Before Dorann could reply to Andraste's query of their last meeting, Arcturus, another promising individual, approached the group as Heliel made her departure, greeting them both with an introduction. "Arcturus, it's good to see you again. Your performance at Seoul V was exceptional. I am, however, at the mercy of our guest, as my ears have divided their attention," he replied jokingly with a light smile. Ever-charismatic, a leader of the Chiss... "However, there is someone I would like you and Caris to meet. Heliel's brother Hazac, a Sith Master, comes from the Imperium. He is well trained in the Force, and specializes in a similar manner to yourselves. While we will continue your training with Oonoo and myself, you and Caris could learn much from him," Dorann added, nodding in the Sith's direction.

Dorann turned back to Andraste and her friend as they continued, listening as she spoke with Steryle. Dorann had been speaking with Arcturus as the Empress was handed a datapad, but she seemed to emanate with a certain aura, but nothing so intense. It was a subtle and light change, only to imply that her mind was on something. She poke of a man's death, and Dorann surmised it must have been someone from her past. Despite the Chiss's interest, is was not his place to intrude, and decided against bringing it up. "Our technicians have worked on our findings, but you understand if I don't discuss such matters so openly. I have however, been in touch with a member of your Order. Sith Master Oonoo and I have heavily discussed the situation. I hope to speak with you more about this at our upcoming Council meeting, should you decide to attend," Dorann replied, subtle hinting a suggestive invitation to meet once again.

He turned to Steryle with an amused but friendly smile, inclining his head in respect to the man. "Please excuse the waiter," Dorann told him jokingly. "I welcome you to the Ascendancy, Steryle," he greeted charismatically, extending a hand. The man was Sith, and could very well slap the Imperator's hand away in his drunken stupor, but perhaps he would recognize the Chiss's sincerity.

Hazac and Kel stood together off to the side, only a short distance away from the Grand Imperator and Empress of the Imperium. Heliel quickly approached the pair, greeting her brother after their time away from each other. The Chiss Sith Master returned his sister's greeting with a wide smile, lunging forward in a great bear hug. He gripped her with the tightest strength he could muster without the Force, shaking her back and forth in an affectionate embrace. "Oh, how good it is to see you once again, dear sister. My apologies for missing the last reunion, but I had my own duties to attend to. A Hound of the Emperor rarely has time to dally about in formalities such as these, but my 'brother', Geist Weiss was attending as well. Who better to serve as the Empress's personal guard with the Dark Lord's chosen Sith Lords?' he asked with a toothy smile.

'I have fared well, sister. As always, I miss you, but every day the Imperium grows stronger. The Chiss seem to be doing well in the galaxy as well, I've seen. I appreciate your concern... How have things been? I see you now stand on a Council! I think an implementation of this kind of leadership has been long overdue, and none other than my sister could better lead CAIN's operations,' Hazac replied telepathically, enjoying the familiar sense of his sister's Force signature. The mental connection they shared as children only strengthened over the years, and their thoughts were but fluid images of perfect understanding.

Grethallion will make her appearance soon! However, I want her to finish up the diplomatic mission she's in first. x3

Arriving fashionably late, or at least, what the manipulative Chiss decided was fashionably late, she found herself being escorted by two men. It seemed they were Talana's friends, or perhaps, her comrades. The woman would keep a close eye on her Imperator, with the males most likely doing the same. They each went in different directions, with Talana heading towards the Heliel and Caris's direction.

Talana was dressed in a fine, turquoise gown mixed with a few gray, purple, and blue hues here and there. Sparkles dotted around her, making her look like she was wearing a molecular cloud. wrapped around her right arm and slowly traversing and around her shoulder was an attack stohl. It had it's head carefully placed on the Chiss's left shoulder.

As she came up in the two Chiss' direction, she made no formal greeting, but more a to-the-point question. Her silky, slightly haughty voice made her presence known.

"How does the Grand Imperator fair?" Talana asked, casting her gaze in the direction of the nearby racial leader.

The Alchemist appeared, warning Vinculis about the no drug use policy. He frowned, and slipped the vials into an inside pocket of his vest. Thaed's attitude was to be expected. The sith lord most likely had power-hungry crusaders begging him for attention or training whenever he was in a public place. Vinculis sipped his wine before speaking again.

" My name is Vinculis, Ichaod here was my first master. Way before he became Lord Asmodeus. I'm no one special, for now that is. But let us not focus on matters of business, you seem like a man that knows how to party, let's start partying! "

A newcomer had approached the group of Chiss and Sith, asking how the new Grand Imperator was handling the position. Hazac hadn't met Dorann before this day, but the matters of the Chiss Ascendancy were in good hands. His own sister resided at the head of CAIN's operations and oversaw the nation's security. With her at Dorann's side, there was little that could go wrong. "He fairs well, to my understanding," he replied with a charismatic smile.

Kel Magna had remained silent until this moment, only observing the events around him. The Nautolan was a quiet man, one of deep thought and isolation. Since his early years as a man, he'd served in the Imperium's military, and only recently joined the Sith Order, but served as Darth Asmodeus's apprentice. It was Ichabod who commanded him at Saleucami's capitol, leading the empire to victory against the Galactic Alliance. It was there that the first of the Jedi's councilors were defeated, sent back to their order in shame. It wasn't long until he and numerous others of the council were killed in a terrorist bombing on Coruscant. Even now, the Jedi flailed and flaunted about, despite their attempt to regroup as a coordinated organization.

"The Imperator seems to be doing well in his new seat. The Ascendancy has gone through many trying times, especially in the absence of their last leader, but Kodo'ran'nuruodo has proven that he is up to the task.," the Nautolan speculated. Dorann and the other generals loyal to the Ascendancy had come together and organized the Council of Eminence, forming a new government of leadership, but Kel only heard the stories. As Asmodeus's apprentice, he had access to documents and files, but more importantly, he heard things.

------------------------------------------

Oonoo, the Celegian Sith Master and Chiss High Admiral, rested idly in the back of the hall, encased in the environmental tank that supported him. He'd remained silent, observing as Dorann played the part of appearances. It wasn't long ago when they were commanding partners, coupled with Oonoo's fleet and Dorann's prowess in planetary combat. They were each dominating warriors, their expertise ranging from strategic maneuvers, to tactical defenses, to their techniques in the Force. Together, they reigned supreme, and devastated any who opposed the Ascendancy or Sith.

Now, Dorann stood as the Grand Imperator, and released from his partnership with the Celegian Sith Master. His dual-enlistment in the Chiss Internship Program had benefited each of the nations, but allowed Oonoo the personal connections he could rely on. No matter how well he performed in battle, having friends in high places was a powerful asset - one that Oonoo would fully exploit, should he ever need to. As he observed the gathering of officials around the ball room, Oonoo felt Dorann's presence suddenly flare. He shifted his attention to the Grand Imperator and saw him at the head of the Council of Eminence's table, raising his glass in an announcement.

------------------------------------------

Dorann raised his glass in front of his chest and wrapped an intricate fork against its side, ringing out to grab the attention of everyone gathered. "People of the Ascendancy... Honored guests of the Sith Imperium... Please, put aside your ocnversations for a moment while we recognize the importance of such an event," he began, projecting his voice audibly so all could hear. "Today, we celebrate a holy union, one of love and truth." In a way, Dorann knew that some of his words were empty - Exodeus was the Dark Lord of the Sith, a master of the Dark Side of the Force. If there was anything he knew of the Sith, it was not their honesty and virtue. He could only imagine the truths hidden beneath the surface of Exodeus's relationship with Andraste, however horrific or shocking it may be.

"The Imperium has long been the ally of the Chiss Ascendancy, and we would do them justice in this celebration. Today, we recognize the monument that is marriage between the Dark Lord of the Sith and his Dark Lady, Andraste, Empress of the Imperium. Please join me in a toast in their honor, and to a fulfilling future for them both," Dorann finished, raising the glass to eye-level. As he concluded his announcement, Dorann took a sip of the wine, his eyes on Andraste. Even now, dressed in the eerily majestic attire, she was magnificent, beautiful.

Heliel and Hazac embraced in a warm hug. Hazac told her of his time with the Sith, and about as an Emperor's Hound.

"True," she admitted, "being a hound does take a lot of time. Though considering all the rumors I've heard about Geist Weiss with all his disguises and art projects, I'm surprised he has time to do anything. Still, I'm glad you're here." A waiter walked by, and Heliel grabbed two glasses. She handed one to Hazac. "May the Force shine upon us, and our two factions, just as it has shined upon Darth Exodeus and Andraste."

She switched to telepathy. 'I am glad. The Ascendency is faring very well, especially considering the recent change in leadership. Dorann is only a temporary Imperator, but I wonder if he'd do well as a full-fledged Imperator.' She blushed. 'I thank you for thinking I'm suited for the council. If only you sat on the council with me would it be even better.'

Bosch grabbed another glass of wine as the attention was all focused on Andraste. Looking at his glass with a somber smile on his face, the commodore silently toasted.

To marriage and the Galactic Empire.

Truthfully, although he was not a Force-Sensitive, he could still feel the tension around the air near the Empress. Though she was married, this meant nothing, as there was no love in the relationship. One could even say she was some sort of trophy wife, married for the hell of it. Though he despised the Sith, he still felt a glimmer of pity for Andraste, thinking a thought that could very easily be sensed by anyone.

Forced marriage has never been a good thing. I feel sorry for you, good madam. Even though you're a Sith, you don't deserve this to happen to you...

Maybe she would notice him, maybe she wouldn't. What mattered is that despite what everyone else thought, he actually cared.
