SPECIES: Arkanian

WEIGHT: 147 lbs. (66.6 kilos)

APPEARANCE: Carudyc's work clothes consist of just a simple white cutoff shirt, dark baggy pants with an abundance of pockets, and the dark blue jumpsuit she wears over it all. She also wears thick leather fingerless work gloves, thicksoled/steeltoed leather boots that are surprisingly comfy, and mechanic's goggles, all of which are necessary in her line of work. Her leisure outfit is just a black tabard, roughed up black leather pants, and a Corellian leather jacket which provides a bit of a flourish to her ensemble. Always with her are a pair of accuracy gloves, they have a ridge of spikes along the knuckles. She also wears light blue contacts that help her sensitive eyes adjust to the more moderate lighting of Coruscant without having to resort to the extremes of using her blinders, they also soothe human's uneasiness when she works around them because her eyes appear normal.

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Carudyc has two tribal tattoos on her face in silver ink, one above her left eye, and another below her left eye, on her cheekbone. She also has a tattoo of an arkanian dragon whose head rests on her right collarbone and wraps around her back, the tail ending on her left hipbone. It is blowing tribal flame designs that cover her right breast and trail down to her navel. Her forearms are scarred from her work in the mechanical field, as well as several slight mishaps early on in her speeder bike racing career. She has four fingers on her left hand [as all 'high' Arkanians do] and five on her right. The fifth finger on her right hand [pinky] is robotic and attached at the hamate and ulna, and covered in synthskin. On each wrist there is a small panel of metal with a slit in it. They are the subcutaneously situated sheaths for her wrist daggers that are activated by a pattern of specific muscle contractions.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES: Caru is pretty tough for her sex/species. She has an amazing knowledge/aptitude for understanding how things work, but often she has only this, knowledge, not experience. For example, she understands exactly how slicing works, but she has never sliced, same with piloting. She is easily sidetracked and very absentminded, and because she sometimes appears very apathetic to others, this can put people off.

-Toolkit (Includes): Regallis Engineering FastTurn-3 Hydrospanner, Fusioncutter, Animated metal sealant
-2 blaster pistols(1 modded, 1 normal. Modded one: Motion activated heat sensor with built in repulsors that use the hands to aim [kind of a very archaic targeting system]
-Dew claw daggers (Implants)
-Datapads
-Bag of assorted mechanical scraps.
-Fist-sized droid[non-operable]

PERSONALITY: Caru isn't a social butterfly; she spends hours drawing, designing, and creating new inventions. That's not to say, though, that she doesn't enjoy the company of others. She's kinda clutzy, kinda quirky, kinda crazy, and very curious. She sees everything in light of an engineering perspective, and therefore seems a little absentminded at times, being distracted by anything mechanical and how it can be improved upon. She's nonchalant about life, and easy going, unlike her parents and the rest of the Arkanian race. She hates it when people try to exercise control over others [politically/ownership/etc.] and is a complete free spirit. She's a complete daredevil, but does it for the thrills, not because she's competitive. A friendly and agreeable humanoid, she views life as medium of adventure and enjoyment.

HISTORY: Carudyc was born Sada Taunuus on Arkania, in the Perave system. She was the middle child of a 5 child family, born to 'pure' Arkanian parents, who were prestigious genetic engineers. Her childhood wasn't lacking, but her passions didn't coincide with her family's interests. She took a liking to the mechanical aspect of life at a very young age and this led her to become absent from her rigorous education. When she was in school she would spend her time drawing up droids or reading up on the newest technologies in machinery. Her presence began to be noticed more and more in the servants' areas, like the kitchen, maintenance rooms, and garage. She assimilated easily in with them, as she was too young to show the typical Arkanian disdain. Her enthusiastic and inquisitive nature caused the servants to like her in return, unable to peg her as just another arrogant master. She became the 'apprentice at-large' of the servant household, all but completely abandoning her studies when they became specialized to genetics. She could repair droids, fix kitchen appliances, and helped maintains the landspeeders and ships. She learned all this while her siblings and peers-- arguably the most intelligent minds in the galaxy-- studied diligently to learn how to become manipulators on both a galactic and molecular level.

As she began to mature, and parents were no longer a necessary reassurance, she took a step back to consider the ethical aspects of the family business. She developed a feeling very similar to disgust for her parents’ occupation and ‘research’. This was only intensified by their attitude towards the rest of the galaxy’s multitude of species. The feeling became mutual over time, and Carudyc became the estranged daughter and sister; she was no longer invited to dinners of state or intellectual discussions.

This striking out from tradition furthered her dislike (quite possibly her only dislike) for influence of any kind as well as the belief that no one should be forced in life. This was perhaps the one aspect about her parents that she respected, that they allowed her to do what she desired, despite the fact that this was only because they had four other children to carry on the lineage and legacy of the family. This free-floating ideal coupled with the slaves tales of pre-servitude sparked an interest in Caru that grew into a desire for adventure.

And so she left, not daring to take her allotted inheritance with her for fear that her parents would treat her with hostility. Instead, she “borrowed” several data pads full of new genetics breakthroughs, to be able to market them on the planets she visited, should she ever need a quick credit. She was headed for Coruscant, the main hub of the galaxy, but she first bought passage on a shuttle to Corellia. Caru stayed on Corellia for several standard months, where she marveled at the awesome starship technology that fulfilled and surpassed the daydreams she had had as a child. From there she sold a data pad of information to buy her ticket to Coruscant, with some credits left over. This was when her parents discovered that she had stolen valuable research and information and put a price on her hide. Caru changed her name, adopting an alias before leaving Corellia as soon as possible.

Upon her arrival on Coruscant, she immediately began to seek out work. With her knowledge and enthusiasm for mechanics she was hired right away by a repair shop in the mid-levels of the city-planet. She had no desire to explore the upper levels of Coruscant though, the gentry of the galaxy were of no interest to her since she had been raised among such people. And so that left nowhere to go but down. Carudyc explored the lower levels of Coruscant with a fervor that sometimes borderlined stupidity. Being a young girl just arrived from off planet she got herself into a few scrapes down there before she realized perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to go alone.

This was around the time she became drawn into speeder biking. Straightaway she was addicted to the thrills from the speed and stupid maneuvers. She didn’t join a gang, due to her problems with commitment and authority, but frequently raced and excelled at it. She eventually was approached by Garen, who knew her through her boss, and wanted to sponsor her for racing. The deal was that she would work on wrecked bikes in exchange for one of her own. She eagerly accepted the proposal and started working in his shop part-time. Not soon after she became aware that the speeder shop was just a front. Garen ran a weapons business out of the back of his shop, buying weapons cheap and modifying them to resell. She had gained enough of his trust and respect that he allowed her to see the inventory. Caru, always game for anything, offered to have a hand at her own modifications. Pretty soon she was earning Garen much more than he had before, both his businesses were flourishing. It was this discovery of Garen’s secret, and their combined success, that prompted Carudyc’s dew claw-inspired hidden daggers.

Caru decided it was time to leave her job in the repair shop and got a job at the local spaceport, working on ships, which now interested her far more than droids and kitchen machines. She worked at the spaceport in the day time, then relaxed at Garen’s to work on her speeder, draw up mods for his newly acquired weapons, or race. She gained street-smarts during this time, and remained fiercely intelligent, but wisdom and sensibility were far beyond her.

Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!!! ^-^

[Also, I just wanted to say that I know her name is in Mando'a...but I like my char names to have relevant names, and Mando'a is just the most expansive SW language...I can change it though if there are any problems?]

No worries. Good profile. Brevity is apreciated in some areas though you were able to make both the expansion and the brevity work in the same aspect. Since I'm an editor, you get an 'A' for effort, an 'A' for work and a 'B+' for role playishness. I would have fun role playing with you if I wasn't about to leave the world of role playing for life.

Since this is the last time I'll be here, this is my sepulchral advice:

+Good legnth
+Decent stat distribution
+Avidly described history
+Nice tone

-Passive voice for a while (I.E.Straightaway she was addicted to the thrills from the speed and stupid maneuvers. was is passive for instance)
-There is this feel to the way you wrote her that left no room for true development. It's like you have everything mapped out already and this is the way it will be. Not everything is predictable.
-Ambidexterity? It's getting old. Yawn. Boring. Be creative with that like maybe half crippled lol.
-What does she look like? Seriously? Eye color? Hair length? Volume? Favorite nail color? Length of nails? Any piercings?

I hope you apreciate the whole five minutes it took me to write this since it is the last time I will ever be able to comment on a profile again.

Thanks!! I feel honored!

Idk if there's even a point in replying to you then, but I guess I just have a lot of fun fleshing my characters out beforehand/I feel development takes such a long time in actual roleplay unless it's moving at a rapid pace..

I think she sounds real unique- an interesting character, I like her name- it would be a shame if you had to change it
