Cartel Businesses on Zonju V

Just an informative thread of sorts, and to brief those who need to or want to know.

Sonny Mills is on Zonju V (The Waste Rangers planet) currently, making allies and evil plans. As he's a Hutt Cartel man, whatever gains he makes there will be gains by the Hutt Cartel as well, most specifically talking about territorial gains. His short-term goals are to make lots of cash on creating a war between the local gangs there. His medium term goals are to with the help of his new found business partners in Mallum Company, take over the City of Bones and destroy any criminal groups opposing them.

And his long-term goals are to create new businesses and industry on the planet, controlled by him and the Hutt Cartel rather than real and legal corporate entities. He does want to use this to rebuild Zonju's industry, but again under criminal control. He wants to completely take control of at least the City of Bones, i.e., having himself, Mallum and through him the Hutt Cartel, become the governing body of Zonju.

Of course the Waste Rangers are not going to sit idly and let this happen, but Mills isn't even aware of their existence right now. When he does become aware of it, I imagine he and them will have some conflict, but I would like it to eventually end up in an "We humor your criminal activity only because it means less bloodshed and more peace and law and order in the city" relation. That might not happen though. We'll see.

I'll update this thread as things go along, to keep anyone interested updated on how things go on Zonju.

For now, Sonny and Arani Mallum are forging an alliance between him and her in this thread. It's the first step in realizing the plans for the planet that Mills has. My OOC plans with this is also for him to prove himself as a planner/criminal administrator of sorts to the Hutt Cartel to rise through the ranks of the organization. I'm still not interested in making him a crime lord, though. I want him as a mid-level criminal, albeit one quite powerful on Zonju. But I do want him to make it captain within the Hutt Cartel in due time.

Sidenote; Sonny plans to make lots of money selling weapons to the local gangs, and already has during the ten year period prior to the timeskip, in partnership with Nor'baal. The weapons he pawns on Zonju comes from Nor'baal's arms manufacturing, and will continue to do so, so Nor'baal too will profit from Sonny's business ventures on Zonju. However, he is also looking to set up a drug deal with another gang that makes highly addictive drugs, the idea being to sell them for twice (or more) the price off-world. If anyone is interested in and have a character capable of large-scale distribution of this goods off-world, let me know and maybe our two fellas can set up some kind of deal.

Anyway, that's all I've got for now but as I said, updates will come regularly as Sonny and Arani Mallum makes progress, in the spirit of openness and interest to any Hutt Cartel members.

Very interesting so far. The Waste Rangers will become an enemy of the Cartel regardless, so this will not affect that relationship, if anything it will give us more power over them depending on how well you succeed.

As for addictive spice running. My character Borga had a large hold on the spice industry way before the skip though he was imprisoned for it. I was actually thinking of using addictive drugs on his gladiators in order to keep them in line and loyal to only him. If you are interested, I can pursue that idea and even come up with a new drug all on it's own. Not sure where Zonju V is in relation to Nar Shadaa though.

As for the drugs, Sonny is *mainly* looking for a distributor. However, maybe we can set up a deal of some sort where Borga manufacture a new mind control-ish drug (for his gladiators?) where a key ingredient is something you can only find on Zonju? In that case, Sonny can oversee the steady supply of the stuff to Borga. :CSly

As a sidenote, such a mind control drug would no doubt sell very well on the black market as well. Wink wink nudge nudge. :CSly

Well the point is to make money, and where else than the black market. Though if plans I have go well, I will also sell it on a market I have in planning currently. You come up with the ingredient, and I will infuse it in a drug. And there you have it, Hutt activity at work.

Skolium

Skolium is a greenish mineral found on Zonju V. It is most commonly found underground, specifically in the region known as "The Mines", but also in other underground cave systems and mines. It usually comes in small ball-shaped, hard form, link, but after being mined it is usually ground down into powder form and refined, link to be used in chemical production.

Skolium is used extensively in chemical industries, but another use of it on Zonju V is the hallucinagenic and intoxicating effects that refined skolium causes the human body. Depending on the purity of the refined skolium it can induce anything from a drug-like high to a death-like coma. It has long been used as a so-called "zombie drug" among religious cults in the City of Bones to create "zombies", i.e., mindless slaves and sex slaves. This also makes it an important ingredient in truth serums and a possible solution to create a mind control drug.

Downsides to Skolium usage is rapid degeneration of the mind and deterioration of the brain cells. In the zombie powder form skolium often makes the user into a mindless husk incapable of coherent thoughts, and even in its most unrefined form as a recreational drug, skolium causes degredation of brain cells, making an addicted person slow in the mind, and seemingly stupid. In refined form, skolium often leads to death by brain hemorrhage with long-term users.

Aside from drug users and religious fanatics, however, there has been very little practical use for skolium as a drug on its own, and while addictive, there are far "better" drugs than skolium accessible on Zonju.

Nor'baal is as mentioned already involved with Sonny by providing weapons to be sold on Zonju. Though if Borga took on the distributer role for the drugs they buy (and not just skolium for his mind control drug), then Sonny would probably do wise to keep the two separate, i.e., Norby involved in the arms deal, and Borga in the drug deal, only, mostly to keep a watertight ship, so to speak. :D

Also, as mentioned, Mallum Company provides the security for Mills on Zonju. Off-world, it would be best if the distributer themselves provided security, again, to keep as few people involved in each, "deal" (for a lack of better word), as possible. The fewer people who are involved, after all, the smaller the risk of something going wrong.

Introduction -

Crudax is a most powerful addictive substance. Categorized as a stimulant, Crudax was manufactured for the purpose of keeping slaves and it's users under the control of their masters. This stimulant heightens brain and body activity by increasing energy, heart rate, and blood pressure during usage. Potency of Crudax can be regulated by increasing or decreasing the levels of it's key ingredient, Skolium. Regulating the potency, and amount used of Skolium can cause Crudax to become more or less addictive and heighten or lessen it's affects on the user.

History -

Crudax was created and manufactured under the mind of Borga the Hutt in 1,023ABY. It's purpose was to ensure that gladiators and slaves alike become loyal to the point of necessity, where they are forced to take the drug and cannot live without it. In partnership with the Hutt Cartel, Borga uses his gladiators in fighting arenas where they are to fight for their life. While the drug does not necessarily increase their performance, it ensures that any questionable or suspicious fighters do not rebel on their master. Crudax's main ingredient, Skolium, comes from the mines of Hutt controlled planet of Zonju V. Borga had gone into agreement with Hutt representative, Sonny Mills, to extract the mineral from it's mines so that it may be used in the drug. The level of purity in the Skolium mines varies, though it is said that the most pure levels causes Crudax it's most severe side effects. Along with other ingredients comprised of energy enhancing drugs found much easier across the galaxy.

Methods of Use -

The most common method of using Crudax is being injected intravenously directly into the users blood stream. Crudax is mainly distributed as a powder, a mixture of the mineral Skolium and all its other ingredients. Although, it could be boiled and turned into liquid form for injection. Other methods include snorting - sniffing the powder into naval passages - and even rubbed on the users gums. Crudaxcan also be comprised into rock form, dependent on unrefined Skolium, which can be used to smoke. Rolled into joints, this is one of it's most addictive forms of usage.

Effects on the Brain -

Crudax stimulates the users central nervous system and causes an excess amount of pleasurable sensation throughout the body. This sensation also jump starts the body and causes for an enormous amount of energy to flow. Crudax is especially addictive because it alters the brains sense of reward and punishment. There is a constant stimulation of pleasure built up in the brain which creates a rewarding feeling to the user. Users feel the need to reach this state even when they are off the drug.

Short-Term Effects -

The immediate effects of Crudax causes a high that lasts about 30 to 45 minutes when injected intravenously. And 10 to 20 minutes when smoked. Residual effects can last up to 1 to 2 and a half hours. These effects include:

Dilated pupils; increased temperature, heart rate, and blood pressure; stress on the heart and circulatory system; increased energy and alertness; hyper stimulation; euphoria; increased hunger, and in some cases hives.

Long-Term Effects -

Prolonged Crudax usage can cause headaches, heart disease and heart attacks, gradual brain degrading (Though begins after at least 3-4 years of usage), convulsions and seizures, lung disease, sexual dysfunction in both males and females, reproductive damage and infertility and sudden death.

Addiction & Withdrawal -

Crudax is a highly addictive substance, and users can quickly develop a tolerance to the drug, needing more of the substance to achieve the desired effects. Also, when use of the drug is stopped, Withdrawal symptoms occur. These symptoms will be more severe the more heavily someone has been using Crudax. Symptoms can include extreme fatigue, soreness, depression, irritability, an intense craving for the drug etc.

Sure, they would have to go through Borga though. While Skolium comes from Zonju V, Crudax is made by Borga, so say Nar Shaddaa.
