As the doors to the simulation room closed, our minds and bodies were taken to a different place. The room he found himself in a small hanger onboard our mother ship, a Ferox-Class Frigate. This Frigate was designated A-2. It was used mainly as a training vessel, but could be brought to full battle capabilities in an hour. He look at the fifteen soldiers in front of him. Three of them were his Legionaires, the other twelve were recruits who had completed combat training and were ready for their first mission.
“As you know, I am Legionaire Prime Caris. I want to keep it simple, call me Prime Caris. I will show you how to survive any battle situation, how to pilot and maintain transport craft. I will teach you the lost arts of hand to hand fighting. Not only that, I will teach you to become Chiss Marines, we are very few, but our presence on any battlefield is immediately felt. We can fight in the seas, on the land, on ships of all kinds, and in the blackness of space itself. You will obey my orders fully, and without hesitation, no matter how strange they may seem at the time. I will train to you respond faster than ever before, and that can be the different between life and death.” He shakes his head, his piercing red glowing eyes looking over the men and women now under his command. “Normally I am just a trainer. However, command has seen fit to bring this frigate into full service, you are now MINE.” He paces, inspecting each. “True this is a sim. But that is because for the next week your training will take place in HERE. Why? Because I need to figure out what you know and what you don’t. Only then can I help you overcome your weaknesses and turn them into strengths.” The recruits stayed at attention.
“First, I want you all to show me you can do basic maintenance work on your knew home.” He pressed a button and several damaged areas appeared in the hanger and over the shuttle. “Get to work. Remember, at this stage failure CAN be an option, I need to know what YOU know. Show me.” They get to work, some obviously more proficient than others. He keeps his steady gaze on his recruits.
