Can a character steal possessions?

So, as the title suggests, I'm wondering whether or not my character can steal a possession from another character, NPC or PC. I have a plan for a thread where Omdool hires someone to break into a company not owned by a certain player and steal a small starship, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed.

In general if you are stealing from NPCs and they aren't part of a particular faction you don't have to get any kind of approval. All you have to do is RP it out in a thread. Preferably with someone else. If you are stealing from a faction you have to have faction leader permission as well as someone from that faction doing the NPCing. If you want to steal from a PC you have to work with the writer of the PC you want to steal from, if they are ok with the stealing in the first place.

In your case as long as the starship isn't too big for a PC to have on his own (usually nothing bigger than a medium or light freighter.) then there is nothing wrong with doing a thread like that.

I am not sure when you want to start the thread but my smuggler might join, if you will have me. I am waiting on the outcome of an indie faction of mine but depending on what happens ship will be needed so Renald might steal a ship of his own.

I am not sure I completely understand what you are asking....

But if I am right... Things like possessions and such are not something this site is terribly strict about as long as its not unreasonable. If its something like needing a comm or an extra weapon or something its not that big a deal. But on the other hand if your character suddenly has 1 million credits to bribe somebody then there might be issues. All I can say is just use common sense with that kind of thing and you should be fine.

On a side note to that you don't have to RP absolutely everything that your character acquires, unless of course you want to.
