DESCRIPTION​

The DH-17 blaster carbine is a personal defense weapon produced by BlasTech Industries, one of the Galaxy's premier small arms manufacturers. Originally designed during the waning years of the Galactic Republic, the DH-17 is a simple, reliable weapon, if not the most long-ranged or accurate one.

For what it is, the DH-17 isn't a bad design; sturdy and compact, it is about 46 centimeters in length. It can fire up to 100 shots from the charge of a standard power pack, either standard medium power blaster bolts or stun blasts which can incapacitate an adult human. Range is about 80 meters, with a computerized optic for aimed shots.

The DH-17 was widely procured by Republic-era system defense forces prior to the Clone Wars, and has been a popular military sidearm ever since, especially as a shipboard or urban weapon, where its relatively compact size and good firepower make it exceedingly useful. DH-17's were widely use by the Rebellion during the Galactic Civil War, though they have long outlasted that particular conflict.

In the present day, the DH-17 can be found in the hands of heroes and villains alike. The model is still common in military service, but is also used by law enforcement, mercenaries, outlaws and even private citizens.

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of blaster carbines is not restricted in most of the Galaxy, however openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.
