Music boomed from the cantina's speakers so harshly that Levi was half surprised they didn't just get blown out. Baby's was a seedy place with a shitty budget, but it seemed their sound system was certainly not subpar—always a good sign. The fact that he genuinely liked the music was also a plus.

The environment—and his appreciation for such rough music—would likely not be viewed very favorably in the eyes of other Jedi, but he wasn't on Jedha or Ifrane today. He wasn't prowling the temple for new training sessions or meditating. No, today he was on Nar Shaddaa, sitting on a couch at 2 AM playing pazaak with the Galaxy's worst and enjoying every minute of it. You really can never take the street urchin out of the rebel.

There was a table in front of his couch, with another couch at the end—his opponent sitting on it. Though he didn't know who she was, he'd gotten a few glances in when the neon lights sweeped over them. The club was packed today, with people even brushing up against the edges of their table, and the lighting was dim when the purple bulbs weren't scanning over them like search-lights.

"I broke the law in Nar Shaddaa—and I'd do it again," he muttered under his breath along with the music, audible only to himself. His eyes were set on his cards—the game had just started and the two had just drawn their hands.

"You look like you've either played Pazaak every day of your life and are going to beat me senseless or you have no idea what the hell you're doing," he remarked, shouting over the music at his opponent, a taunting smirk on his face. It was both banter and small talk—it all depended on how she'd respond.

Bars and clubs had become an ever increasing thing in Aadya's life recently, especially ones back on her home turf of Nar Shaddaa. She could blend in here, pretend to be someone else. The people here didn't care about her and she didn't care about them. It was easy. Not like her normal life, which was hard and unfair.

Aadya drained another drink - something strong, amber colored, and tasted like cheap starfighter fuel - and shook those thoughts from her head. Now was not the time to start spiraling into another liquor fueled sadness binge. She had stuff to do, people to hustle. It was time to play some kriffing pazaak.

"Can't it be a bit of both?" She said with a smile, responding to the guy she'd just started playing with. Granted he may have had a point, Aadya was sort of dressed like she was fronting for one of the local gangs. "Plus, you look like you aren't even old enough to be in here to begin with. Isn't a little past your bed time, do I need to call your mommy?" Aadya laughed a little at her own joke, then realized she didn't even know who she was talking to. "I'm Aadya by the way. You got a name?"

The game had startedand when she looked, Aadya's hand was damn good. She was going to smoke this kid and it was going to be great. "I hope you're not hungry cuz I'm finna take all your lunch money, kiddo."

Oh, she's got jokes. Levi chuckled, glancing at his hand again. He was most likely fekked—most of his cards were either in the lower or higher range, not good enough for him to be sure of a win. Still, he didn't let it be known, his facial expression not changing even as he was already calculating how much money he'd be losing now.

"If that's what it takes to get your number." Raising his eyebrows suggestively, he looked up at her briefly then back down, pulling out a card and setting it down. "Levi." And he was about to empty his entire damn wallet today.

The card he'd put down was as low as one could possibly go, which wasn't good. Ideally in Pazaak, you want to get as close to 20 as possible. Levi's card was 1. He tried to hide his shame with a shit-eating grin, but it was highly likely that Aadya would make fun of him for having a bad start nonetheless.
