  • The story of Caedryn Vizsla begins with a murder. Not one committed by him however, not yet. The murder of his uncle, Gideon Vizsla, the aftermath of which propelled his father, Leonis Vizsla into power over the clan. Leonis Vizsla was not a politically savvy man, having spent most of his life supporting his charismatic brother with his own strength of arms. It was through this method that he held the clan together, violently quashing any opposition, and he raised his son as a warrior and soldier. A son who had other ideas for his future.

Caedryn Vizsla grew strong under his father's training, showing the makings of a fine warrior. But his interests lay elsewhere. He wished to learn the methods of preserving life, not how to snuff it out. Caedryn and his father argued often over the path his future would take. Leonis saw much of himself in his young son, and knew that fighting against Caedryn's chosen path would be an exercise in futility. With his father's blessing, Caedryn studied medicine at the prestigious university on the core world of Rhinnal, on the condition that he did not neglect his warrior training. It was there that Caedryn grew into a young man, studying the sciences of surgery and cybernetics.

It wasn't until the age of 22 that Caedryn would return to Mandalore. Upon his return, the young man would be greeted with news of his father's death, murdered by political rivals in a farce of a duel. Gripped by rage and a clawing hunger for revenge, Caedryn stole into the murderer's home in the dead of night. Standing over the man as he slept, Caedryn was overcome by hatred, wanting nothing more than to throttle the life from the man. It was then, with dark thoughts running through his mind, his will so singularly focused with pain and anger, that the man began to claw at his bed sheets, eyes bulging from his eyes. It was shortly over, the man was dead, and Caedryn hadn't laid a finger on him. Bewildered, the young man fled his home planet seeking answers.

For years he wandered, learning what he could of what had happened that night. Studying with strange cults and mysterious monks. He learned how to control the mysterious power that he had, called the force. But the events of that night haunted him. He had felt the mans fear, his pain. He had felt when the life fled from his body. And he had savored it. He wasn't sure what scared him more, the power he had held over life and death, or the fleeing of life by his hand. Or the fact that he had enjoyed it.

After years of learning of his new powers, funded by small time mercenary work, Caedryn received the call to duty once more. The call home. His cousin, Ral Vizsla, who had endured his own wanderings in search of meaning, was finally returning to Mandalore, set on freeing it from the corrupting grasp of the Republic. Answering the call, they begin the work of insurrection, only to be cut short by the Mand'alor's secret police, who whisked Ral away to places unknown. Fleeing the planet for the time, Caedryn took work with a relative, who was the Commander of a Mandalorian mercenary group known as Ha'rangir's Chosen.

Months into his service with the Chosen, the Commander took ill and promoted Caedryn to take his place. Leading the mercenary company with a singular goal in mind, they grew quickly as they sought to gain in strength for one purpose. The liberation of Mandalore. Caedryn led the company with vigor and brutality, abandoning his once strong value on life for a vision of hope. The company committed atrocities on his command, slaughtering rebel villages for credits on Rodia, committing espionage against the Republic, even against Mandalore itself. Nothing would stand in their way of a free and dominant Mandalore.

Unfortunately the company saw his ruthlessness as something other than commitment. They saw it as greed. The simmering of discontent grew to a boiling point, until an ambitious soldier, Prudii Kyramud, the Mad Dog of Ha'rangir's Chosen, harnessed that disgruntlement and pointed it at their leader. The company fractured in civil war, with Prudii Kyramud's forces coming out on top, exiling their former commander and becoming The Death Watch. Caedryn, disheartened and beaten, faded away into obscurity on the planet of Dantooine, where he sought to drown the guilt of what he had done and the betrayal of his comrades in a bottle while Prudii Kyramud, soon to be known as Mand'alor the Reclaimer, continued his work.

But the galaxy would not leave him be, and he was dragged back to Mandalore by the bounty hunter, Diva Tumi, on the command of Talia Al'saif, Mand'alor the Reluctant. Much had changed during his exile. Mandalore was free, ruled by the Mandalorian Dominion, which sought to spread the influence of the warrior planet to the far reaches of the galaxy. Reunited with his people, including his cousin Ral Vizsla, the pair set about returning House Vizsla to its rightful place within Mandalorian society, a dominant and ambitious force to be reckoned with.

  • Caedryn Vizsla is a human male in his early thirties. He stands at approximately five feet and eleven inches and has a medium, athletic build, his musculature that of a skilled swordsman, like coiled springs ready to burst into action. While he is not the strongest Mandalorian, Caedryn more than makes up for it with speed and stamina, being quick on his feet and used to long bouts of strenuous activity. He has short, blond hair and gun-metal grey eyes, behind which lies a mind that is cold and calculating, always trying to think a step ahead and gain the advantage in any situation.

On more than one occasion he has been told by outsiders that he carries himself like a Mandalorian. A combination of cocksure posturing, and the skill and willingness to back it up. This is not far from the truth, as he is a confident man, sure of his abilities and limits. Unlike many of his fellow soldiers, he eschews the Mandalorian stereotype of wearing his armor everywhere and to every occasion, usually preferring comfortable and well made tunics and trousers, usually of blues, greys and blacks.
  • Caedryn Vizsla is a many faceted man. A warrior, bred for combat and trained to kill the enemies of Mandalore without feeling or mercy. A doctor, a man who values the lives of others and seeks to prevent death and pain wherever possible. A murderer, having killed in cold blood an ordered the death of hundreds if not thousands. A user of the force, connected with every living thing in a way no normal being could understand. Caedryn's sins, the atrocities he has committed, weigh heavily on his soul. The weight of command, the weight of failure, and the weight of power. The load he bears is immense, as is his will to carry the load. There is nothing he would not do for his planet or his people, no matter the personal cost to himself.

An intelligent man, if a bit rough around the edges, he has been known to be brash and crude at times, which does well to hide the cold and calculating mind that lay behind his grey eyes. He cares deeply for his people, but at the same time knows he must be willing to send them to their deaths if needed for the glory of Mandalore. To a man such as Caedryn, honor is only valuable as a currency, easily cast aside when the need arises, easily shed in the pursuit of victory.

    Caedryn Vizsla's Beskar'gam
Caedryn Vizsla's Beskar'gam is simple yet masterfully made. While not as heavy as traditional Beskar'gam, consisting only of helmet, breastplate, pauldrons, bracers and greaves, this armor provides him with an adequate amount of protection without sacrificing much in the way of mobility. The durasteel plates of his armor are painted in cobalt and silver, the colors of House Vizsla. The bracers however are bronze cortosis, befitting of a duelist who expects to combat lightsaber wielders. He wears an armorweave bodysuit underneath which provides minor protection against blasters and blades, as well as protection from the elements.
    • Durasteel plates - 3 hits protection
    • Cortosis greaves - 1 hit lightsaber protection
    • Armorweave bodysuit - glancing blows

    Other Possessions
    • Phrik Vibroblade Longsword
  • Mandalore Indominitus (in Progress)

I like this profile man!

One question though: Under the biography, admittedly it states that Caedryn views the Republic with a mild level of Disgust. So, do you mind extrapolating on what his motives would be in joining the Republic?

Death Watch mutinied, stabbed him in the back, kicked his ass to the curb and then allied with the Sith
