Ok, if this is not where this needs to be, feel free to lock it and pull my ear, but I am posting this here because I thought this is where it needed to go.

I started an Open RP, to kind of get some relationships and fun started, and no one has jumped in. Anyone have any ideas for a modified story? Or, perhaps want to join in?

Anyway, the group (other Sith) is exploring the ruins of the Typhon Jedi Temple (This can be changed, for I chose the planet because I thought it did no conflict with anything in my memory of the timeline) for a Holocron, long since forgotten by the Jedi. My main goal is to simply have a little adventure and forge relationships between Zoroc (my character) and other Sith or Imperials. However, this also provides a way to test skills by braving the ruins, which is filled with old defenses like training droids and the like.

It can also be a race. Since, this is a discovered secret, who is to say the Jedi did not hear of it and have braved the dangers to retrieve this item before the Sith? That's up to if any Jedi want to join in, and I don't want this to be a death thread (grave injuries are allowed though).

I have yet to decide what the Holocron will be keeping inside itself, though. I want a big thing, something Acolytes and the such cannot learn easily and will probably have to wait a long time before they can, but I have yet to decide. I have also not decided if the Holocron will be swapped with a pitiful one so another can horde it's power, or if we'll turn it in like good minions. It's up for debate.

How will you regulate the completion of a race? Will the winner be pre determined? Will killing and maiming be allowed? Its sounds like a good idea but its these small details that can make or break your story

He said that if Jedi wanted to join in that it could be sort of a race between the Jedi and Sith. The winner gets the holocron. He wants this thread to be safe, but injuries are allowed.

The winner is not pre-determined, it's up for debate. If its going to be a fair race, then it wouldn't be right to say that the Sith get it no matter what. Now, if no Jedi join, then it will without a doubt, but... hey, if it happens it happens.

I was kind of hoping to regulate the race by having to get through various areas within a certain amount of posts. Say, 8 posts from Jedi to get through one area, and 8 from Sith to get through an area the same distance away. It'll matter how many RPers on either side keep up with the thread, because there is no double posting and if a Sith is by himself against two Jedi who get two posts ahead of him, well... he's kind of lost because they'll get the Holocron first.

Say this is the course...

Area 1: Outside [8 posts to get through] Enemy: Malfunctioning Training Droids. (Note: Get inside!)

Area 2: Side Hallways [6 posts to get through] Enemy: Self-Automated Defense Systems. (Note: The two sides must come face to face for the first time before going on to three, whether by seeing them across the distance or by simply stopping before rushing off to the next Area. Basically, just catch a visual.)

Area 3: Collapsed Passageways [7 posts to get through] Enemy: the environment, get through the treacherous terrain. (Note: One member of the first group reaching this area must be injured by the debris, but nothing life threatening or too simple like a stubbed toe.)

These are just examples.

How about a three way? I'm thinking of tossing Noster into this for his own purposes, alone. If no Jedi join, which I would expect to be the outcome, then at least you have me for competition. And, just to make sure, this is on Tython right? You mentioned Typhon.

I'd be interested in rekindling Noster's ties to the Sith somehow..

I'm not entirely sure what the state of Tython is but I believe it would be heavily guarded by the Sith. I'm not sure that a Jedi could get on or off the planet, at least not easily.
