Jedha
It was night out and the day was no where near the end. Not for this Padawan at least, for a little while now he had a Kyber crystal that he gotten on Dantooine a little while ago. A gift from having helped the Jedi Quolon who had gone there also it seemed for a Kyber crystal. Though he already had a lightsaber, guess he simply wanted another blade. Which was a idea for later, since he was lucky to even get this far and create his first blade. It took a while but after being with Nikka for a little bit of time now he was going to need the blade sooner rather then later. Especially as the war raged on and battles continuing to happen across the galaxy.

Still this wasn't just some simple weapon, it wasn't a good gun, nor a powerful grenade. No, this was a tool of a Jedi. Something meant to defend with rather then simply kill. While he was still had a lot to learn the knowledge he had of the Jedi were definitely growing. An as he was spending time on Jedha considered a strong world for those of his order with history and importance it was appropriate that this happened on this world. His first real step into taking into his commitment into this order. A creation of a tool that was more symbol then a real item.

For centuries the lightsaber had been seen as a tool of oppression and death as the Sith reigned supreme. But things were changing with the Jedi returning to finally bring the Sith down. There was a struggle that was far deeper then a change of government for the greater galaxy. This was a battle of wills and destiny's. Would the Sith continue to rule or does the Jedi finally return and bring about the downfall. There was so many possibility's at this point in history of the galaxy.

Having such deep thoughts humored him though, just a year ago he would have only cared about the person he was able to bed. Now here he was thinking about destiny and the future of the galaxy. Tragedy had started him on this path but it didn't and wouldn't define him.

His master should arrive soon, he was sitting down on the ground next to a plateau. A bit off from the city's and towns of the world. His plan though silly as it was would be to climb it and once there construct his own blade. Elevated like his mind, surrounded by the night sky connecting with the nature and the Force. Plus it just seemed right and cool in his mind.

"Sis, wish you could see me now." He spoke softly but those with good hearing might notice the slight pain in his voice as he spoke.

Sure he had begin the process of letting his past go but that wasn't such a simple thing. Though he knew he shouldn't allow the deaths to haunt him, he wouldn't forget it since it was a source of fuel. Yet he planned to learn to control the pain to make it not something that made him angry or afraid for others, but rather a lesson. The galaxy wasn't the safe place people wanted, but it didn't mean that it wasn't one worth fighting for.

She knew it was time. There was still Sam to outfit, but Alexei was her first true Padawan; the heavy mantle of a Jedi's duty would still lay heavy on his shoulders, as it once did on hers. Crafting her lightsabers came with its' own difficulties; troubling visions, disturbances in the Force that shook her faith for months afterwards. But this was the building of something more than a weapon; this was the hope of the galaxy, the last fighting remnant of an Order that needed to survive.

...For what?

Balance. Perseverance. Survival. However you put it, it was necessary. Darkness encroached everything, even her own existence. She had to make sure the Order would survive to fight another day, no matter what came next. This was her secret hope and dream, to see at least her Padawans fight in a galaxy that stacked the odds against them.

She slowly approached, palms clasped before her. A medium-sized bag floated behind her noiselessly; no use carrying it and navigating the rocks. She had allowed him to choose his place to construct; it was a far cry when she had constructed her own twin blades, but she could appreciate the sentiment.

A voice carried on the breeze, and a tremor of emotion followed in its' wake. She could not react in sympathy; instead she stood before him, dressed in her formal robes. Her hair had been braided over one shoulder. Her twin blades were visible, strapped to either side. She gave him a calm smile as the breeze rippled with the flow of fabric and loose tendrils of dark hair.

"She would be proud," came her voice evenly.

"But the better question is... are you ready for what follows, starting today?"

He was happy to see Nikka arrive with the bag of the materials he was going to need. As she approach him, he felt pride in knowing he had earn this. Despite only just starting this was his first true sign of actually becoming a member of the Jedi order. It sort of filled his chest with pride, but remembering what Nikka said about removing his emotions which wasn't easy. But he had been making small strides in that direction. Slowly and surely he was becoming more mature, as he realized his responsibilities and his place in the galaxy.

So far he had begin learning to call upon the Force to actually move around objects. He also started learning the mentality of the Jedi and how their instincts were what guided them. As it was guided by the Force, since it was their tool and source of wisdom and purpose. The Jedi were servants and were destine to help others in need. Which meant he required the tools of the Jedi to do just what he was asked to do as a Jedi. Yet it wasn't just about having a useful tool, it was becoming a symbol that was no longer just used by the Sith. Battle over symbols helped shape the galaxy, even a young ignorant Alexei knew this, and now as he has grown definitely knew that this battle was one of the more important ones going on right now.

Hearing Nikka, he smiled as he stood up looking up at the plateau. He was wearing a simple white tunic and brown pants, he hadn't gotten the robes of a Jedi yet. Not that he hadn't been offered is just that he didn't think he was ready to wear formal robes. He was still a Padawan when he finally became a Knight he would no doubt stand up and calmly show his allegiance.

"I was ready when we meet again on Endor, today is just my first big step." Staring at the plateau, he wanted this to not be a simple task since it was such a big event.

To him it was a big step forward. Finally becoming less selfish as he wanted to do more then just fight, he wanted to actual heal the galaxy. He step forward to Nikka and grabbed the floating bag. He wanted to carry it up by himself. Not with the Force, he needed to do this himself, the Force was his guide not his tool. It was meant to work though him, not him though it. So using a string to tie it onto his back he made sure it was fastened before beginning his climb up.

It was going to be difficult he knew the weight of the bag would tired him faster. But he actually wanted that. In his mind he felt it was a good thing to instill into his body and mind discipline, and fortitude. Sure it would hurt, but that can't stop him as he would have moments when he would be in pain but still had to press forward.

"Nikka, do you prefer me calling you Master or is your name fine?" He knew that it was going to be difficult for him to get use to every change he needed to make but it was a step by step process.

An with Nikka and the rest of the Jedi's help he could and would do it. Having only made it a couple of feet there was plenty of time for them to discuss as the plateau was at least 50 feet tall. But he didn't do the math, so he could be off a couple of feet or a dozen.

The moment he had a firm grasp on the bag, she let it drop, succumbing to gravity and being lifted by his strength alone. This was one of his tests she had; he had to persevere on his own, survive on his own. The parts within cranked and clinked with every step he made; the path was wide enough for the two of them, and she made sure to keep a perfectly silent, light tread beside him, as though it weren't a mountainous journey but another stroll through Endor.

She had time.

"That depends on your comfort," she replied back, back straight and stride met with purpose as the blind woman seemed to artfully twist and wend through the path. It was no easy task, but she trusted in her capabilities, and the capabilities of her Padawan. "I do not mind if you call me Nikka, but it is only something you must decide." She sidestepped one large boulder, then hummed slightly as if pondering a thought. "Titles do not interest me; it is how you treat fellow sentients and living beings that interests me, your capabilities and willingness to be a protector for those protected by Jedi that matter. Titles are a tradition, certainly; but, my Padawan, a title does not make a Jedi. A Jedi will become who they are meant to be. Trust in the whispers of the Force."

She smiled, knowing all too well it was very maddeningly vague. It was how she was taught; soon, perhaps, with his own lightsaber he would understand.

He was thankful she didn't question him taking the equipment, but as they continue there climb up the plateau he wondered what it would feel like to hold onto the hilt. How much would it weigh in the end and what sensation would he get once he grab hold of it. Would it cause his heart to race or would there be a slight shock that goes up his spine? There was much anticipation in this moment for him, and he was glad to be able to experience it with his master.

Her answer was not surprising. She didn't seem like a person who cared too much about titles. Rather she wanted to know what his actions would be, whether he would help those in need or simply be a watcher. Action spoke louder and matter more simply by its nature of doing. Without good people doing good there could be no victory against evil, no way to beat back the darkness that has concern the galaxy.

Listening to her it almost made him want to laugh as she called him Padawan. Clearly somethings needed to be follow, still as he continue to climb he felt very confident. So far though the shine of the star that this planet orbit was slowly heating him up as he carried the equipment. So far it seemed the path had plenty of holds for him to use to carry himself up the cliff.

"Nikka I have a question?" He felt since they had so much time right now till they got to the top might as well spend time learning.

Multitasking was important so learning while trying to build his lightsaber was clearly a amazing idea. He felt so proud in trying to do this.

"I remember you talking about seeing visions. Does that mean the Force can show you the future?" It was a pretty big question one that was probably only going to create more questions but he wanted to know while he focused on lifting himself.

Does the Force already know the future or was it just showing possibilities? He knew it could warn him of dangers which meant it had some knowledge of possibilities at the very least. So would that mean the Force was more akin to a divine being or was that him just speculating.

She recalled the moment her Master instructed the build of her own lightsaber. The many pieces and parts coming together... she was told that her twin kyber crystals were nestled within very unique hilts; she could always sense them strapped to either hip, their strength a symbol of her own, their build as unique as their creator. Somewhat oxidized titanium with inlay of ebon wood and a handle fitted to suit her hands. Not easy to use for the basic fighting, but with her own style of fighting, they were perfect.

"Hmm?"

She tilted her head in his direction. Unlike most under her tutelage, he asked questions almost incessantly. And ones that were necessary, no less. Perhaps one day she would have Alexei and Sam meet; meantime, however, such ideas would have to wait.

She paused to think the question over, and then the answer. Her voice was light, calm when she finally did, a faint smile twitching on her lips.

"Force visions don't always come to pass," she spoke. "They are suggestions of a future that may happen; not necessarily my own future, even." She tilted her chin up towards the plateau, and continued moving. "Most visions are not the future, because times change. People change." There was a thought behind those words, unvoiced.

Beneath the protection of her armor, her ring dangled like an accusation.

"Some do happen... some do not. Have you been having lifelike dreams, Alexei?" She asked, with a faint note of interest. Such gifts manifested in different ways... she was curious as to what her Padawan could really do.
