Makari barely waited for her to pass the keys and hop in before he leapt into the drivers seat. His thirst for this drive was insatiable - he had waited years for this moment, and now it would come to fruition. The engine hummed to life. He stretched a velour-coated arm onto the steering wheel. The antigravity units kicked to life, levitating the car off the ground.

The main console lit, bright, neon colors casting a kaleidoscope of color onto the passengers. To his credit, Makari spent a minute handling the vehicle gently; he angled it slowly, deliberately, towards the hangar. His heart fluttered, beating faster than before his first kiss. Before his election. It was an indescribable.

He touched his delicate, leather blue shoes to the pedal. The engine purred back in response. "You ready for this, Sleek?" He smiled at her once, and slammed his foot to the gas.

The car shot like a bullet out of the hangar, exploding into the busy streets of Nar Shadda. Vendors and pedestrians ducked for cover, and drivers in traffic honked and screamed at the car. Makari veered up, taking the craft higher and higher into the night sky of Nar Shadda. The grimy streets and their inhabitants became like ants, soon, as the craft veered through the hazy clouds and neon star scrapers that Nar Shadda was best known for.

Makari sped between buildings, drifted past clouds, and dove through the sky. He felt like Skap Demonds at the race. Like an ace pilot in a pitched dogfight. Like a kid on a rollercoaster. His heart was beating out of his chest. The car now climbed in altitude, parallel to a golden-glass facaded building. They could make out their reflections, swift blurs, in the glass.

Passing this building, Makari turned the craft about at slowed down, taking a breath and appreciating their surroundings. From this angle, the world of Nar Shadda was a twinkling diamond of industry and teeming with life. The lights of cars, buildings, and people meshed together into an intimate display of candy-colors that surrounded them; they were enmeshed with these colors.

Makari looked at Sleek, his soft, brown eyes gleaming with the light of the star scrapers. "This is a dream come true."

___"Ready as I'll ever be, pretty boy," Sleek returned, looking at the man with a wide grin. "Show me what y'been waitin' five years t'do!"

___The woman grabbed her seat as Makari punched down onto the pedal, sending them roaring out of the hangar. Sleek shrieked excitedly at the top of her lungs, not out of fear but out of adrenaline. Her hair whipped behind her as they soared through traffic at breakneck speed. She cackled with unabashed joy, turning to flip off the frustrated denizens as they honked at them, blazing by.

___"LET'S RUTTIN' GO!" the mechanic exclaimed as they climbed into the air above the skyscrapers and the very clouds themselves. Sleek's body rocked and shuddered with every sharp turn, steep incline, and heavy dip. She cheered and laughed with bliss and excitement, urging Makari to go faster, occasionally telling him to take a turn. She dialled back her raucous noise as the speeder slowed, lifting her hands to comb her fingers through her even messier tresses.

___"Holy shit," Sleek cackled, mussing her hair into some semblance of order. Breathing heavily, the woman peered out of the vehicle and down towards the city lights sparkling below. She draped her arm on the side and leaned back heavily into her seat, breathing slowly to come down off the high of adrenaline. As Maraki spoke, she looked at him with a bright, cheerful, somewhat mischievous smile.

___"Yer tellin' me," she chuckled. "That was amazin'. I'm feelin' all fuzzy just bein' the passenger," Sleek continued. "Glad I could help yer dream come true. This is the kinda stuff I do this line-a work fer. En't gonna get a feelin' like this nowhere else in the galaxy." She paused, turning her attention to watch the clouds drift idly by. Sleek reached a hand out to let her fingers brush through them, watching the wisps spill through her fingers.

___"Thanks fer bringin' her by, Makari, and thanks fer lettin' me be the one t'work on her. That were a proper honour."
