Brighthome.

It was a pretty name for a mobile temple. If anything, Evergreen quite liked being ensconced within the walls of the space station - drifting along the vast expanse of space, surrounded by the stars gave the youngling a sense of peace and serenity. Those were becoming quite few and far in between given the states of war across the galaxy. He was still too young to fully understand the complexities of war and battle, but old enough to experience and fathom the meaning of sadness and loss.

Still, the young boy remained optimistic and cheerful despite everything that happened. While the memory of Yavin IV’s fall to the Sith would remain and the sense of loss would sting for the unforeseeable future, Evergreen held on to hope that good would always prevail over evil. The Sith Empire scared him, reasonably so, and they would remain one of his fears for a long while. He was one of the fortunate souls who managed to flee from the temple on Yavin; he had seen what they could do. Though the Knights and Masters who taught them explained that the Force had two sides, the youngling still couldn’t quite wrap his head around the fact that the Force could be used for evil.

The Dark Side was a scary thing. He didn’t want it. The Light sang to him, soothing away his worries, but even then It was a side of the Force he still didn’t understand fully.

The young Jedi found himself staring at the viewport, marveling at the stars while he made his way towards the training room where he would meet his teacher for the day - a Whiphid Jedi called K’Thund. Evergreen only knew the Knight by face and name, and had seen the older Jedi holding classes for the other Younglings. Usually, the boy was grouped with other children under Rudra Severino’s guidance, but the Morellian Knight was becoming more active on the field again. Given Evergreen’s own desire to have a one-on-one lesson about the Force today (and for the following days to come - the young boy was looking to become a Padawan already), one of the Masters had arranged a meeting for him and Knight K’Thund.

Upon reaching his destination, the door slid open for the blond youngling. Clad in standard Jedi robes, Evergreen stepped into the training room with a friendly smile on his face. Bright blue gaze settled on the gigantic Jedi Knight, eyes sparkling as he craned his neck up to look at the Whiphid once he approached the latter.

Master K’Thund was so tall! Evergreen wondered if he could be just as tall when he grew up-

Shaking off the errant thought, the action unintentionally visible, the little Jedi remembered his manners and offered K’Thund a polite and respectful bow. ”Good day, Master K’Thund! I’m Evergreen Glades. Pleased to meet you!”
