— Summary.
Sometimes in life you are faced with a crossroads. For Briar, that proverbial fork in the road came to her when she was twenty years old and she was faced with the crises of doing what she thought was her true calling, and maintaining the oaths and tenants she had sworn to uphold when she was only a teenager.

The Jedi Order is many things to many people. Most of them good, some of them bad, but for the most part the Order tried to do its best to help those that needed help. Unfortunately, while Briar did and does believe in that calling, being an actual member of the Order came with far too many trappings - too many rules, too much.. oversight.

So when she came to that crossroads we mentioned earlier, her paths were very clear and decidedly different. One road meant staying with the Order, doing her best to help people, but ultimately feeling like she was always doing less than she was capable of to achieve that.

The other was shrouded in unknown, but it meant striking out on her own, following her own creed, and being a light in the darkness where even the esteemed Jedi Order could not reach.

In the end, Briar chose to sabbatical from the Order, or at least that's what she told them. She still follows many of the Order's beliefs, but in her own way, and she no longer considers herself an official Jedi. As it sits, Briar operates on the Holonet using the name Seraph.

— Skills & training.

Briar is a fully trained Jedi Knight who still maintains a training regiment to keep her skills with both melee weapons and the force sharp. While violence is never her first choice, sometimes you run into situations where there is no other options, so Briar needs to be able to defend herself and those she is trying to help.

In her work as a Private Investigator, Briar has also cultivated an adept ability at slicing and utilizing the Holonet for information gathering and other things you might expect from a slicer. Having always had a shrewd intuition, Briar utilizes her natural skills coupled with the aid of the force to suss out leads, investigate cases, and make her way through as someone who's job it is to fuck with bad people in a dangerous galaxy.
