Narir and Vale had found themselves another job. This time it wasn't bounty hunting or a revenge killing, but a corporate job. Narir had picked up the job from the same contact that had given him the last job of raiding a rival corporation. This time, though, it was a test of internal security. They wanted to know if their own corporation was vulnerable to the same time of attack that Narir and Koil had executed on their rivals.

Remember, no killing, he said. This was a mock run, and the last thing they needed was real blood on their hands. The security workers didn't know that the two Mandalorians were coming, so there was a real chance that the two Mandos would be shot at, but that was why they couldn't let that happen. If there was a gunfight, Narir would be using the stun rounds from his pistol.

He pulled up a projector and a picture of the compound they were going after appeared in the air in front of the two Mandalorians.

Organic security guards patrols the exterior with security droids inside. The company would probably rather we didn't wreck their droids, but they also acknowledged that this is a complicated assignment, he said. So there was a distinct possibility that they would end up shooting down some droids.

The main entrance is on a crowded thoroughfare, so we'll have to find another way in, he said, pointing to the busy street on the map. They had their work cut out for them.

Vale wasn't much for corporate jobs. He had done a few in the past but he generally stayed away from them as they usually always had a catch. Thankfully, it was a test of just security but both knew that the cooperate defense wouldn't see it like that as they weren't informed of this intrusion. Narir informed that there should be no killing and Vale sighed underneath his helmet, most of the weapons not made for non-lethal except a few stun packs that he brought and his dart launcher. But he gave Narir a nod of understanding as the other Mandalorian pulled out the schematics of the building for the both of them.

The building appeared in front of them, Vale listening to Narir as he crouched down on one knee and continued to study the building. When he finished, Vale turned his head to look at his partner, having an eyebrow arched underneath at the fact that the company would rather prefer the droids weren't killed over the human security guards. That was a corporate company for them and Vale after a few moments wondered why he was even shocked in the first place.

Vale pressed a button on his own gauntlet, one of the rooms in the Czerka building highlighted red and began flashing. "The server room is in the center. All we have to do is retrieve some data they planted and exit from the building." Vale pressed another button and it showed mini-figurines of droids inside the holo-map and having them move janky around the server room. "That room is also most heavily guarded with droids. It seems security is more concentrated around the lower levels and center."

Vale stood back up to his full height before pointing a gloved finger at the side of the building. "We can scale it there, find a rooftop entrance and work our way down." They stood out too much to go through the main door and in fact just be around the building in general. They would need to do this stealthily and once they were inside that's when the real job began and hopefully, the rest of the building won't know they are there.

Narir hated that he couldn't just use his jetboots to rocket to the top, but he knew that would be too loud and draw too much attention. Scaling the building would be quieter, but take longer and be more difficult.

He nodded and cut the stream of the map. It's decided, he said, running his hands over his gear. He had his full armor, and he pulled free his heavy pistol, switching it over to its stun setting. He had a medium pistol for the droids - who he didn't mind shooting - but perhaps they could manage this infiltration without a gun fight.

The alleyway outside was quiet and dark. The smell of stale urine caused his nose to scrunch up, and a lump in the corner by a dumpster was probably a strung out spice addict. This was just the type of place you wanted to put your secret lab if you didn't want anyone noticing it. How unfortunate for the Czerka employees here that a pair of Mandalorians knew exactly where they were hiding out.

Narir's pace slowed as he came closer to the far side of the building.

This looks like a good place, he said, pointing up to a low overhang that used to hold a sign for the bar next door. It was clear that it hadn't been used in years, and the bar lay empty: long ago forgotten.

I'll give you a boost, he said, putting his hands out for the other Mandalorian to use to climb up. Teamwork was going to be their best bet, and after the last operation together, Narir had grown curious about who he was and what he was like. Perhaps they'd have a chance to get to know one another on this little adventure.

Once the briefing was complete and Narir checked his weapons, Vale did the same. He loaded the stun packs into his two blaster pistols but left his rifle to remain lethal. Even though they weren't supposed to kill, he wasn't going to trust a corporation in letting two Mando's roam in their building without a scratch if they could help it. With everything loaded and checked, Vale followed with Narir as they started walking towards the building. They chose to take an alley path and the Mandalorian was thankful for his helmet, it at least filtering out the worse of the smells so it wasn't distracting.

When they reached their destination, Narir pointed out to what looked like a sturdy handhold for them to just this trek. He put out both of his hands for Vale to boost himself and the Mandalorian gave him a nod before placing his foot in the middle of his interlocked hands for support. With a little jump and the boost from his partner, both of his hands gripped onto the overhang, leaving him hanging only for a few seconds before he managed to fully pull himself up. Vale balanced himself on top of the overhang as there wasn't a lot of room and it meant that the two of them would need to take this one at a time. "This should make this easier," Vale commented before aiming his left arm straight in the air above them.

A grapple line shot out from his gauntlet, it whirring loudly as it continued to soar past multiple stories until it reached the very top of the roof. It caught itself on the low wall of the roof, Vale giving a few tugs with his arms to make sure it was secure. When it was, he pulled out the rest of the grapple line and clipped it through his belt before tossing over the side near Narir. Grabbing onto the line with both hands, he heaved himself up so that both of his feet were securely placed against the wall. Taking a step over the side to clear from the overhang, Vale would be suspended there before offering an arm to his partner and lifting him up to the overhang to do the same as him.

With Narir just needing to clip onto the line, Vale started climbing upwards or walking depending on how someone looked at it. It was a slow and tedious process, his armor and weapons weighing him down but he was making the process. A few minutes into it, they would be quite some distance above the ground but still some ways to go to reach the top. Vale pressed a button on his helmet, linking the comm to Narir's and making it so only they could hear, "You've worked for them before, haven't you?" Vale figured Czerka wouldn't let random bounty hunters enter their building just like this and he's never worked with them before so that just left Narir.

Narir let out a little groan as he hoisted Vale up to the ledge. At nearly 200 lbs and probably another 80 lbs worth of gear it was a good thing was in shape or he'd probably have thrown his back out with the effort. At least the positioning gave Vale a better shot for his grapple. With a hissing sound and a slight whizzing sound it latched onto the target building.

He ran the line through his belt and began the ascent. It was likewise difficult, but this just meant he could skip the gym later today. The best way to train was in the field as far as he was concerned.

A voice crackled in his helmet a moment later as his comlink linked with Vale's. Yeah, he said. I did some... under the table work a while back. Basically this, but it was the real deal: a competitor of Czerka, he said. Highly illegal, but he'd managed to grab the schematics for a new weapon, and Czerka had rewarded him kindly for the work.

He crested the roof a few minutes later. He was relieved to have solid ground under him again, and his eyes scanned across the rooftop looking for security cameras or other things that might block their progress. He was about make a move for maintenance door when it opened on its own. Narir dropped to his belly and hoped Vale would do the same. A pair of employees came out into the open air and pulled out a pair of deathsticks and began smoking them.

They had an option to either bring the two down now or wait them out. Narir estimated they'd be finished in a few minutes, which meant they would likely be better to avoid the conflict for now.

So, any intersting jobs lately? he asked quietly into his comlink. He didn't seem too worried about the two employees, happy to carry on a conversation in the interim as if they weren't breaking into a highly secured facility.

The both of them had finally made it up to the roof. Vale swung his body up onto the roof with Narir doing the same shortly after, both of them scanning around for security measures until the door opened. He was quick to act and immediately went into a crouch and behind an AC unit that covered him completely. While Vale couldn't see them as Narir could, their puffs on their death sticks were still audible and he just waited there with the other Mando for them to finish. Both of them seemed in the mood to wait for them to pass and Vale was thankful, not minding to sit there for a little longer and make this whole job easier for both of them to complete.

Halfway through their wait, Narir asked him a question to pass the time and Vale glanced over to him before shrugging his armored shoulders. "Yeah, community service. Never thought that would happen." It was his first time ever doing it and he could thank the Chancellor for that one. It was a unique experience, to say the least, and it wasn't really a job but it was the most interesting thing to happen to him that wasn't the norm for a Mando. Suddenly the maintenance door opened once again and he could hear both the employees start to walk back inside as they chucked their death sticks off the roof. "That's our cue." Vale murmured before standing up and heading to the only door on the roof. Putting his hand on the handle, the Mandalorian would wait a few minutes, letting the previous employees distance themselves before he finally opened the door to the inside of the building.

The stairwell down was flooded with red light, the two of them still in the maintenance section of the building and not their real target yet. Vale slowly pulled out his right blaster pistol from its holster, checking once he was on the stun-feature before slowly stepping down the stairs. "What about you? I hear about Solus' a lot. You must have something more interesting than me." When they reached the bottom of the starewall, they were just in an elongated hallway that was conjoined with others, pipes running along the walls with steam jetting out. Vale pulled up the map on his gauntlet before turning to the right and proceeding down there.

When Vale mentioned that he'd been doing "community service" Narir snorted at the sarcasm, finding it humorous until he realized it actually wasn't a joke at all.

Wait, you're serious? he said. He always viewed killing Sith as a type of community service. After all, it benefited the entire galactic community, but somehow that was not the kind of job he got the impression that Vale was talking about. Highly unusual, it sounded like.

You're telling me that story, he said as Vale mentioned that that was their cue. No way that Narir was just going to let that go without getting the details of how someone like Vale had ended up doing a community service weekend or whatever it was.

They made it to the stairwell, and Narir drew his heavy stun pistol. It hit like a sledghammer and was more than capable of putting someone down on their back without any effort. It was why he had carried the weapon for so long, and would still carry it selectively from time to time after his next trip to the SALE market.

He thought about his recent jobs, and they certainly had been something. Somehow I got stuck on diplomatic duty, he said, thinking about his recent tour of the forge to help the Republic create its own custom armor and his unexpected diplomatic relations with the Chancellor after she'd crashed on Concord Dawn. That had been far less formal and far more personal, though.

And prepping the next invasion, he said. Even now, the Yavin invasion was on his mind. It certainly should result in a Mandalorian victory, but only time would tell for certain. Assault teams had just been finalized.

He pressed through the door along with Vale, pistol raised and scanning the room as they made their way down. The hallway was long and it was clear they had yet to make it out of the maintenance area. He followed after Vale who seemed to know the path, and watched behind them for any signs of enemy movement. There was nothing yet. Surely their luck couldn't hold forever. He was "Bad-Luck Badger" after all. That nickname hadn't been an accident.

Sure enough, they found their first maintenance worker only 30 seconds later. He was at the end of the next hallway organizing a closet filled with equipment. It looked like he had been at it for hours and likely wouldn't be done any time soon. Bypassing him wasn't going to be an option.
