DESCRIPTION
The BR8-A1 is a new line of blaster rifle designed for use by the Sith armed forces. To ease supply lines and manufacturing requirements, a single model was required for ground and space personnel. Designed and manufactured originally on Makem Te, the rifle is compact, sturdy, versatile, and reliable. An adjustable folding stock allows for adjustability while over and underslung rails enables different kits to be applied. Stock standard it keeps to iron sights and no underslung gadget.

On the sides are ambidextrous selectors. The closest to the trigger switches between safe, lethal, and stun, while the more barrel-forward connects the trigger to whatever gadget has been attached. New forms of galven circuitry and cooling systems allow the weapon continuous fire under stress without overheating. All metal and moving parts are treated with corrosion-resistant dry lubricant, with spare given in maintenance kits.

Cylindrical power/gas packs are inserted just above the trigger guard in an environment-safe slot. A light just below it indicates both fire mode and ammunition reserves. Green for safe, red for lethal, blue for stun. It blinks when shots are below 20, and goes blank with an empty, faulty, or improperly inserted cartridge.

The balanced weight makes firing comfortable with limited recoil. Disassembly for cleaning or modification is easy with the included repair kit. For long carry times, a sling can be attached at different hook points.

Rapidly replacing older blaster models in the Sith military as quickly as bulk orders can be sent out, the BR8-A1 is the modern replacement to inaccurate or unreliable classics from the era of Palpatine's Empire.
LEGALITY
Legal. Ownership of blaster rifles is not restricted in most of the Galaxy. However, as a Sith-made weapon it's likely to draw unwanted attention.

INTENT
To introduce a Sith-specific standard blaster rifle.

RESTRICTIONS
This weapon is only, by default, available to members of the Sith Empire.
