DESCRIPTION​

Boomas, also known as energy balls, of Gungan grenades, were spherical energy weapons that were used by the Gungan species. Manufactured by the Otoh Gunga Defence League, using plasma (which was naturally present in the crust of Naboo), they were created in various different sizes, ranging from 1kg to a tonne in weight.

Thrown either by hand or slung with the use of an atlatl, Cesta of falumpaset-towed catapult (for the larger items) and were notably employed by the Gungan Grand Army during the lead up to the clone wars, as part of the Battle of Naboo. The weapon was useful against droids and vehicles, as it the plasma gave off an EMP effect upon impact and detonation. Alongside this the plasma burned through biological matter, with a splash-damage effect that caused extensive physical damage to surfaces and armour.

LEGALITY​

Illegal outside of the Gungan Grand Army. This is considered a traditional weapon, and its use is frowned upon outside of the Naboo.
