Upper Cloud City - Bespin

Mission 2: Boom Boom

When everything is set up and we are ready to move on Bespin, we plan on having three high explosive proton bomb charges we acquired be set on Cloud City wired to detonate remotely. Entering via on board a freighter (with a spoofed transponder) at a landing pad to the northeast under the guise of a regular cargo shipments, the proton bombs will be hidden in ordinary cargo crates coated with scatterweave to fool scans carried via a replusorlift cart. The task here is to move the bombs to the locations listed below.

Targets Are:
Bespin Security HQ - North side of the upper city.
Bespin Wing Guard Hanger - Farthest north side of Upper City.
Communications Tower - Center of Upper City

The places are well-guarded. Make sure the bombs are inconspicuous to where they won't be discovered until it's too late, yet are placed as strategically as possible to inflict maximum damage. A stealthy approach is perfered, but if that fails it won't necessarily fail the mission. Feel free to be creative. But whatever happens, make sure they can't discover what we are up to. If successful, when the bomb are triggered, chaos will ensure in Bespin.

If external help is needed for this mission, the Blackbirds organization will compensate them for their work.

A bright sunny day on the gas giant Bespin. At a landing pad to the northeast of Cloud City lies a landing pad, overlooking the endless sky of the planet. There are 4 Bespin Security Officers at th walkway connecting the landing pad and the rest of the city. Everything is normal, nothing out of the ordinary. To them right now, it's another day another credit. With the careful oversight of the Baron Administrator and his Bespin Wing Guard, there's hardly any crime. The streets are prim and clean. The ally ways are secure. It's all about order and perfection with the Administrator. But the Blackbird Pirates are coming to make it... not so orderly. That fool just doesn't know it yet. Especially as they intend to make Cloud City a haven for them.

Now, a Selonian Light Freighter closes in on Cloud City. The air control at the hanger detects this. Normally the landing pad is servered, so the operators at the air control then hail the freighter and sends a communication to them. "This is Bespin Air Control. You are flying to a restricted landing pad. Transmit transponder codes and state your purpose." The Captain of the Freighter (The Bravebird) then transmits his transponder codes and then replies to Air Control. "Transponders transmited" The transponders he submitted were spoofed, instead of registering a Blackbird pirate vessel, it would be registering a perfectly legitimate food transport. "This is the Green Star. We are here to drop off a food shipment. Requesting permission to land." The air control then discussed this among themselves for a good minute or two as the freighter was slowing down. This ship isn't scheduled to be here, but it is to them a legitimate ship. Deciding to give them the benefit of the doubt, they give them clearance. "Clearance granted. Welcome to Bespin. A team will greet you as you exit." the authorities said, with hesitation of course. The Bravebird Captain then grins as the communication channel is stopped.

He then addresses the ground team via a PA system on the ship to who all will be delivering the payload to the targets. "This is the Bravebird Captain speaking. We will be touching down shortly. As we land, there will be a welcoming party. They will be using handheld scanners, but the scatterweave should fool them. They won't see the Proton Bombs coming until it's too late." The captain then laughs madly. "I only wish I could go with ya'll. Deliever the bombs and come back here when you are done. Try not to die! And try to place the bombs "'inconspicuously'." He chuckles. With that the freighter lands on the pad. There are four Bespin security guards waiting for them 10 meters from the ship itself.. One has a scanner, and the rest have blaster pistols. The Bravebird's ramp opens. There are the three proton bombs in scatterweave crates along with a replusorlift cart. A fusion cutter has also been allocated to each of the three people making up the ground team, for getting past any locked doors. How the ground team proceeds with this is up to them.

Nec, read over the mission. The mission didn't seem too hard, move the cargo to certain points along the space station. An easy, get in and get out mission. However, he knew there be some point in the operation, someone would botch something up along the way. He'd hope he wouldn't be the one to make a mistake, but he could never fully know. Nec would read over the information he was given one more time, about the locations there were supposed to go. He'd then grab, his equipment before heading towards the ramp that was opened towards the platform, waiting for the two others to arrive, before moving out. He'd arrive, there first on the ramp. Sitting, there waiting for both of them to come out, with him. When, they eventually, came out he'd ask towards the both of them,
"You two ready for, this?"
He'd know this was a silly, question. If they weren't, they wouldn't be with him, on this very landing pad. However, he'd thought that he'd just ask the question, after all. This may be the last that they had a large amount of breathing room, without fear of being chased down by Bespin Security Forces. So he enjoyed, the small moment for it'll be last while the mission was going on. He'd then let out a deep sigh, as he prepared to descend along the stairs.

While a good six and a half feet of muscular bulk wrapped in white fur might seem conspicuous for such a stealthy mission, Mod had his own talents to bring to the operation. He was skilled in electronics, advanced systems, and munitions, so getting the bomb into the most damaging position wouldn't be a problem. He also found that, with his translator disabled, people assumed he couldn't understand what they said and let him get away with more. And if the fodder hit the fan on this operation, Mod wasn't afraid to go loud to get the job done and his hide out of danger. He'd gone without his armor on this job, it would be too conspicuous, but the carbine at his hip could be mistaken for a deckhand's pistol and he'd managed to smuggle his grenades in on his tool belt should this go wrong.

"Just don't screw this up."
Mod growled as he pushed past the Devaronian, switching off his translator headset before the customs officers saw them. While it might amuse the others, his rumbling vocoder voice had now been replaced with his natural Talz grunting and squeaking. He took the lead on the repulsor lift cart, as he was the largest of the crew members, and least likely to be harassed by inquisitive officers. It was show time.

"Yea.. I sure am" Tango pushed himself out of the ship with a somewhat grumpy look on his face but partially amused and interested as he was on the Bespin the gas giant. His mood was caused by being called in the middle of one of his concerts which was just beginning but he tried to ignore his anger by not calling the Talz out. He then realized he still didn't know any of the people he was working with names which made him feel a little awkward in a way as he just calling this Talz his friend as he didn't feel really acquainted with him but decided to try and make up for that by making conversation.
"So erm Talz, you never really told me your name at Mos Eisley. And who exactly are you?"
He asked the Devaronian who seemed to try to at least get to business and start conversation as well. He pulled out his flute and spun it in his hand between his fingers and from time to time blowing into it, making a quite melody. He loosened the grip on the blade within the flute when he was in the ship just so it could be easier to whip out if the time came for it. He didn't seem to notice much about Mod beside him being a Talz and his somewhat brutish personality. Tango wore some kind of Brown shirt and leather jacket with multiple power packs in the pockets of it along with black pants with more power packs in those as well with a zipper for each, concealing each pocket. He brought his skills of thievery, stealth, and luck to this operation to help out with this. After noticing all the soldiers around the ship he wasn't really amused as he tried with his most to make his flute look like it was just a flute.

"Yeah, yeah." He'd say, to Mod, as he walked down the ramp. He'd however stop mid-way and turn towards the smuggler, "Name's Nec, by the way." Looking at him before continuing down the ramp. He went to greet their 'Welcome Party.' which would be coming soon, he'd look over them, to make sure all went well. He'd then wait as he saw a few airport officials, walking over to the small ship. He'd hope that scatterweave would do it would do it's job.

The four Bespin Security Guards are a good 30 feet from the foot of entrance ramp of the Bravebird. They all saw three people. A Talz manning the replusorlift crate which should be loaded with food cargo from off-world, a Bith, and then a Devarionian. Although Bespin Air Control cleared these people for landing, they are still wondering why this ship wasn't appearing on the schedule. Perhaps now that they are on the ground, they could ask for get some answers. It's easier to arrest them if they are on the ground rather than in the air. But first, first thing is first. The cargo has be scanned. To make sure it's not contraband like drugs, weapons, bootleg products. Etc. So then the officer with the scanner, then firsts asks the ground crew "Welcome to Cloud City. Before you are allowed to proceed, the cargo you all are bringing must to submitted to a scan. Also any weapons you all might have must either stay on the ship, or must be handed over to us for safe keeping for the duration of your visit." The guard said with a bored tone. This is standard procedure for all visitors on Cloud City. The Baron Adminstrator likes it that way. Seeing no reason for citizens or visitors to be armed when the Bespin Wing Guard keeps everyone perfectly safe. "After that, we you all will be able to go about your business in Cloud City. Sound good?" The guard laid it out. If they go along with this, then they can be on their way quickly. But they don't know who these people really are. So the guard then gestured the Talz to step forward and the other guards have their eyes on the other two people.

Yep, standard customs procedure, two guards and a scanner start outside general drunken-deckhand shooting range then roll up to the ship and start asking questions and barking orders. At least they seemed just as interested in getting this over with as he was, Mod wanted to spend as little time on this dock as possible. He let the others do the talking, trying his damnedest to look as confused and oblivious as possible, letting his eyes seemingly wander and rocking slowly back and forth in place. When the guard mentioned that guns wouldn't be allowed any further into the city he realized that this job just got a lot harder. Maintaining his ruse, he cocked his head to the side before nodding, grabbing his belt, and throwing it haphazardly back onto the ship before turning back to the guard like an expectant animal. He repeated his confused beast act for a second when the guard told him to step forward. He heard the order and understood it perfectly, but decided to step around the cart and walk toward the officer, getting a little too close for comfort before letting out a soft rumble and shaking his head. Not the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he'd need a bottle after this. Or three.

Mod made a smug face and decided not to put away his flute as they most likely didn't know his blade was concealed within as he played a soft melody that was supposed to seem like a hypnotic trance type of music yet still a soft melody that was quite yet able the be heard. It was meant just to soften the mood of the guards as he just went along with what was happening. He didn't really do casual talks with guards as this was somewhat new to him an he said.
"Sounds good to us sir."
and nodded. He continued his soft melody which was also a sluggish like battle stance for if they were to find out something at all or attack them he was in the position to chuck his sword out of his flute and at the guards.

"Hey. Hey. Take it easy." The one Bespin officer said to the Talz as the officer back pedaled after the Talz got a little too up-close and personal with him, feeling uneasy. The other officers, drew their blaster pistols up a little bit to where they aren't immediately aiming at anyone but to where it wouldn't take much more effort to do so. The Bith playing his flute, wasn't helping calm then. They were more annoyed with it than anything. But with how messy things might get, they looked at each other and then they knew that they just want to do their jobs and get this over with. "All we need to do is scan this. And then we will be able to escort ya'll off the docks where ya'l can attend to your buisness" .

The officer turned around and tossed the scanner to one of the others, since the Talz was in his way and was weary about moving with him being a little too close for comfort. The second officer caught it and went towards the replusorlift cart, on the other side of where the Talz came from. That officer then uses the scanner on the cargo. It is reading nothing. The scatterweave protects the sealed crate from scans. "Clear" The officer said to the others, whom all were relived. They can not detect the payload of proton bombs thanks to the scatterweave disrupting scans.

Meanwhile the third and fourth officer took two steps forward towards the third member of the visiting party (@Ceder_Tree) to make sure he complies with the request concerning any and all weapons. He surely heard the officer's explicitly state that no weapons are allowed on Cloud City. The Talz voluntarily disarmed himself, the Bith just has a seemingly normal flute. After hearing that the cargo is secure, all the officer's relax their weapons stances as they await a response from the Devaronian.

Well, that didn't go over nearly as well as Mod had hoped, as he now found himself with two blasters trained on him as nervous Wing Guards circled him. At least they weren't in the mood for causing trouble and filing additional paperwork, since the guard with the scanner inched past him like he was a caged Gundark. He hoped to defuse tensions somewhat by slowly, very slowly raising his hand to wave in response to the officer's tension, trying his damnedest to sell the dumb animal routine as hard as possible. At the very least he was able to bounce back from his mistake, as Tango's kriffing flute was agitating the guards more than his act. He had half a mind to just bat the guards and the Bith off the platform and press forward with the mission. His best bet now was to make absent-minded noises as he stood waiting for the Devaronian to hand over his weapons. And resist the urge to kill someone on this platform.

"Yeah..yeah" He'd say, looking towards the Wing Guard, quickly taking off his Vibroblades from his hips. He'd, walk over the ship, and leave them off. However, he took this quick moment, to conceal his blaster pistol, better within his armor, hoping that the guards wouldn't notice it hidden within his armor. It, was a risky maneuver, however he believe he could slip it past the guards. He'd have to be careful trying to do this. However, it'd be better then trying to walk into the City, without any form of weapons. "Right then, are we allowed to move on?" He'd ask towards the Guards. He was praying they didn't notice the weapon concealed under his armor.

Tango thought the guards blindly thought his flute was just a flute so he clipped it back onto his belt and still decided to wait silently as multiple ideas for upcoming songs and celebration popped up in his head. As half of his thoughts and focus was where they were now and the other half in the sky. He wasn't really sure if his little tune went over there heads gently as there facial expressions seemed slightly agitated. He was now in the mood to keep the mission going as this landing pad was starting to get boring and he was ready to see some explosions. He crossed his arms and tapped his foot on the floor in a beat as he coming up with a new song. He slowly grew impatient with how this was going and nodded to what Nec Grend said.

The officer who was very close to the Talz when he saw the Talz' wave then started gritting his teeth in very visible disdain as he stopped backpedaling once a safe distance. After the Devaronian relieves himself of most of his weapons in front of the two officers, the officers are satisfied. With the Talz disarmed, the Bith appearing to be all clear, and the Bespin officers looking at each other and then nodding their heads in approval, are none the wiser about the Devaronian concealing a weapon. "Alright. You all are clear to move on. With that now we will escort you all off of the docks and you all can proceed." With that, the Bespin officers then then regroup 15 feet away from the the front of the repulsorlift cart and then make their way off the landing pad, stopping at the entrance into the terminal as the look backwards to see if the guests are keeping up. Past the entrance, there is a left turn until they can go through the terminal and then they have access to Upper Cloud City proper.

Aalthough the Bespin officers thought they could have been in a stressful situation, are relived that this matter was settled and they will look forward to an easy rest of the day and 'another day, another credit'. Unless something were to happen... which they doubt will happen.

Mod could almost feel the years shaving off his lifespan as the two guards took their sweet time examining his companions and their crates. It was agonizing to watch the Devaronian ditch his weaponry as Wing Guards let their hands wander over their holsters. In the event of an emergency the Talz had no problems throwing the guards, and if necessary his supposed comrades, off the platform in a mad dash to escape. A two-bit smuggler and a mangy space-dog weren't worth getting shot over.

Thankfully, by some miracle (or the scatterweave coating), the boxes checked out and the group was allowed to pass through. Mod made sure to take a second, pretending not to realize what was going on before taking the hovercart and pushing it down the dock toward the city. It seemed that they were finally in the clear, and could go about their real business. Once the Wing Guards were out of sight, Mod reactivated his translator headset.

"If either of you ever mention what I did back there I'll beat you with your own legs." He grumbled.

"A shame, I was going to describe it in great detail, to the boss but if you say so.." He'd say jokingly. However, Nec realized they had to get down to more serious matters. He'd turn, checking around the small group to make sure no one could overhear, there conversation. Once, he felt it was cleared he, leaned in towards the group. "So, how do we want to go about this?" He'd ask, quietly hoping no one overheard, him taking to the others. "We can, take out all three buildings at once. Or, we can explode each building separately." Nec, would think for a moment. He'd end up agreeing with his first, plan. It left little security running around and they could place, the explosives however he waited for his compatriot's responses. "Also, any of you got weapons past?" He'd say, just putting his pistol into view.

Tango said cautiously after NEC finished talking "If we take them all out separately the security and guards will be raised on high alert, and since we just got here and it started happening after we got here they'll assume it's us. We take them all out at once and either book it to the ship or got cautiosly" he nodded. He turned his gaze to his belt where his flute hung and said "Yes, I was able to sneak a weapon in as well" he continued walking with them.

This was the best plan tango could come up with at the moment as he then began to cautiously look around to make sure nobody could hear them. He turned his gaze to the Talz and waited for a response.

When the guards went by the entrance to the terminal, they turned around and saw the thread still by the repulsorlift cart talking among themselves. They were watch, waiting for them to come towards the terminal. But then they saw the Devaronian put a pistol into view. Where did he get that from? Two of the guards saw him take off all his weapons. He must have got one. Seeing this and not wanting to risk the Baron's wrath for failure for them to uphold the gas giant's strict laws. The guards then walk back towards the freighter's ground crew. At 15 meters. The Bespin Guards aim their weapons at the three people and then the more senior of the four yell. "Freeze. For trying to get a conceled weapon through us. You are all under arrest. Hands in the air or we will shoot" What will their decision be? If they don't comply, things will get... violent.

"I've got my own weapons." To emphasize his point, Mod dug his claws into the metal of the repulsor cart handle, visibly digging into the surface of the metal through sheer strength. He barely got through his show of strength, however, before several nearby Wing Guards began to approach them with weapons drawn. They had seen the Devaronian flashing his kriffing pistol under his armor and now they were on them like anooba on a reek carcass. No weapons, no armor, and with four guns on them, Mod did the only thing he could think of. He turned to the Devaronian and got in his face, shoving him roughly in an effort to make it seem like, at least he, was unaware of the concealed weapon.

"Idiot! How could you bring a weapon into the Baron's city!?"

Damn, he was caught and nothing he could do would change that. Nec, had to think quick..what to do, what to do. He'd think, then quickly drew his Blaster, up towards Mod. "Listen, that cargo ain't going here I'm afraid.." He'd turn slightly towards the guards, "Don't even try it, make one move, and my guys detonate explosives placed over this place, now unless you want a tragedy on your hands, I'd suggest lowering those guns." He prayed, that lie would work, or at least give him a brief moment, where they were exposed. However, he was prepared if it came to it, to open fire on them, at least he had a weapon to use, however it'd prove useless, against the multiple blaster shots. He'd consider, then for another moment. The smuggler, said he had a weapon on him...Nec, would think for a moment, still pointing his blaster towards, Mod. He'd, figure it'd be impossible to whisper a plan to him, the guards were too close for that. He'd hope, the smuggler would figure out a way, to take a few out..They didn't know he had a weapon. He'd stand, there hoping that his false ruse, would fool them for a second or two, to give him time to get a bolt or two into them. He'd, sorta just have to stand there waving his gun a little, hoping they didn't just open fire on him. Certainly, not the best of circumstances.

Tango face palmed in regret as his anger from before flooded back into his mind set. He had places the be and didn't have the time to be faking things and throwing people under the bus. He murmured "All we have to do is get bombs around that all". He then unsheathed his phrik blade from his flute and quickly dashed forward and jabbed it into one of the guards stomachs which impaled him and made him whale but when he begun he covered his mouth a muffled the wale as he quickly died kill him. He grew impatient as he then reconnected his flute with his blade again and fired to blaster shots at the other two guards with a look of distaste on his face. "Lets just finish this job before I get more pissed" He said with an angry tone, reattaching his flute back on to his belt. He didn't really care about the position they were now in so he decided just to wait for his team to come up with a new plan. He thought more guards were coming but extinguished the idea and kept alert for anything he should've shot. 8 shots left until he needed to reload, he was going to have to conserve his ammo.
