Corellia was now under Mandalorian control, but fortunately it didn’t impact their business too much. Some of the local customers were unnerved, but it became abundantly clear that that the company kept its contacts and business was booming. The small building she had acquired a while ago now blossomed into a tall tower that they owned fully.

They had been growing everywhere, and they had begun acquiring various smaller warehouses, factories and even other companies. It took some time for Tasha recover from being shot at the unveiling of their design of the PIPE. Since then, her security detail had been much higher. She couldn’t even get a moment of privacy to herself, which she found annoying. Nevertheless, she had to keep playing the part of someone that certainly didn’t have the strength of a powerful Sith.

She had called for a company-wide all hands meeting. Most of the employees would be Holoing in from all around the galaxy. However, the more local and crucial employees would be attending in person. She had blocked off a massive conference room with a stage up front. Tasha was adorned in a business suit with a jacket and skirt, along with tall heels. She had her new hairstyle which was her red hair tied up in a high ponytail.

Tasha waited for others to arrive, speaking with some people back stage for a moment on the agenda of items to review. There were refreshments for those in attendance, servers walking around with trays of food and drinks. There was soft background music playing, and it was clear Tasha didn’t intend for this to be overly uptight or official. Everyone had to leave their weapons behind, but there was no real dress code outside of that.

A business meeting?

Well this was the first time he had met some of his fellow employees in person... some of them in a long time and some of them in ever actually. It would be nice to actually see them. He had elected to actually physically be present for the meeting and had arrived on Corellia.

It was rather amusing to be waved through customs faster because he was a Mandalorian rather than being held up because he was one. What a strange turn of events - or not, as the case may be. The Mandalorians were going from strength to strength and he would be lying if it didn't feel good to see.

Still not his war though.

So instead he entered the briefing room and nodded to those who had already arrived, feeling somewhat underdressed in his business suit rather than his armour. Did people really wear these things all day?

Revolting.

Zatara was amazed at how quickly their corporation was growing, and the fact that she'd gotten in on the ground floor of it just pointed to a potentially lucrative career. The message had gone out for the employees nearby to make for the conference room, and Zatara - after stopping for a cup of caf - had set off immediately.

Dressed in her normal business attire, a dress blouse, jacket, nice pants, and high heels, the woman strode confidently into the meeting room where they were to be having their briefing. As usual, she seemed to be the first to have arrived, and she rolled her eyes at the fact that she had somehow managed this again. She had even taken measures to ensure that she didn't arrive this early, and yet.... here she was. She must have really had no life.

She placated herself by taking a sip of her caf - as black as the clothes she wore - and took a seat at the table, neither too far forward or too far back. She was eager to hear about the developments with the planet's change in leadership, and once again thanked the Force that she routinely kept her true last name a secret from the world. She could only imagine what the Mandalorians might have done if they knew who she really was.

Gil had grown up on Corellia but in a distant slum district. The place he found himself in today and the place he grew up in might as well have been two different planets. That didn't even seem like it had actually been his life, it was like he held someone else's memories inside his head.

He wore simple black slacks and white shirt with the top few buttons undone, and a black sports coat. It was about as dressed up as Gil got. He didn't really care for these types of things. He preferred to be out there doing things, on the front lines. He had always been like that. During his time leading gangs, he had always been out in front when it came to dirty work.

Gil yawned, arriving at Corellia late last night with only enough time to catch a quick nap and make his way here. He had been busy with various projects and it felt odd to sit down for a moment. He spotted Tasha, he wasn't surprised to find her dressed immaculately even though she had said there wasn't a strict dress code. He caught her attention from across the room, smiling and winking before turning back to his own conversations he was having. He wanted to go up and talk to her since it had been a bit since they had seen each other, but she was busy and there would be time for all that later.

He took one of the glasses from the server and quickly disposed of the liquid before nonchalantly pulling a flask out and pouring his own drink. "Something a little stronger?" he said offering the flask to Tagal (@Nefieslab).

Gil then looked to find a seat near the front.

He tugged a little bit at his tie even as he sipped at a drink he had managed to snag from... somewhere. He honestly couldn't recall how he had gotten the drink, much less what was actually in it. It was boring either way so when Gillian (@Raydo ) offered him something else? Well by that point he was more than happy to indulge.

Unlike Gil, Tagal didn't pour his old drink away - instead he finished it in a single gulp before accepting a drink from the other man with a relieved sigh.

"If I have to wear this outfit for five minutes longer without something stronger I think I might end up screaming." he admitted with a sigh as he nodded in greeting to someone he had worked with before (@Phoenix ), "Any idea how many people are coming to this?"

He knew that Skuld (@Killa Ree ) was coming as well but he didn't know when she expected to actually get here. Running late he supposed.

Being involved in business was out of her depth; at least, the way business was considering this galaxy perceived it. She was not one for going without any weapons or armor, and giving them all up was very difficult. To some Mandalorians, perhaps, it was an amusing sight to see the Deucalian unload all her weapons before security. Bita, unfortunately, her vibrodaggers, her blaster...

They didn't have to be so aggressive with removing her Elduröxi, however. It was a family heirloom!

She scowled when striding in, head held high, posture tall. In typical fashion, the Deucalian woman had chosen something far less conservative than her peers. It was still business code, certainly...

But it was too karking hot in here.

She had shed the business jacket hours ago; no matter what that malmhaus said about codes or proper attire, she would not roast herself to please others. She still wore a black silk blouse, but the sleeves were slit up to elbow, and the skirt, though to her ankles, was slit just a bit higher than most would see in a meeting...

Her hair was braided low, with simple stud earrings glinting in the warm light. Heels lightly rapped as she stepped through security, and through the doors.

Jaw clenched, pose tall. She was grateful for a few familiar faces, but most of them she did not know.

Black brows furrowed as her gaze scanned the crowd.

There he was... with Gil, it seemed. A curious sort, she liked his social affability. It certainly made a meeting less unpleasant the first time they met. She still had to find the right designs for a ship, though... and an inspiration for the name. But now, it seemed she had an idea.

She had managed to snag a passing server with a tray of scotch; bit too fancy, but it would do. She gave a cursory nod to Gil, with a rare hint of a smile, pose relaxing somewhat. But... small talk, she wasn't willing to step into. Instead, she was content to melt into the crowd as best as she could, until the meeting began.

Although, seeing Tag in a suit was something she hadn't anticipated. Her lips twitched, betraying a smile as she sipped at the glass, savoring the warmth.

THEME
Despite his large frame Burkhart felt like he fit into the large suit rather well. While it was tailor made it was tight fitting still. The cross marked scars on his muzzle and left exposed flesh gave a hint towards his more rugged experience. His right hand, a red cybernetic that stuck out apart from his dark grey attire, gave indication of his personal losses in more violence circumstances.

All the same he was not present for the meeting and phoning in his presence. Attire was still important and he made it a point to dress for the place he held. It did not seem right fro him to wear his beskar'gam to this event while aboard his ship the Effervescent while in transit.

Part of him wanted to enjoy what libations or goody bags that Tasha had brought to the meeting. Sampling luxuries from across the galaxy was a perk of the job but also something that the Morling saw in a professional manner. What he might enjoy so might the higher echelons of an upper social class of another planet. He might be the one to provide that luxury and in doing so profit.

Grabbing a cup of tihaar, neat, he inhaled and queued up the holo projection. The planet which he had just come from had just ended its work-day period so he figured it was as good a time as any to enjoy some spirits without worry of judgement. Actually if his cohorts in Blackwell judged him he had a specific digit to display for them. Until then he appeared just like any other hologram at the meeting.

Elix Lorso was one of the Blackwell employees who attended via holo. Since he was part corporate spy, working for Czerka still, and since recently also partly rebel, Elix hadn't found the time to travel to Corellia and instead sat rather uncomfortably in his small hut onboard the ship that was bringing him to Sho-Torun.

As he attended via holo he wore the elegant clothing that he packed for the Sho-Torun court. It wasn't what he'd usually wear, but it breathed class and somehow that made it feel fitting for the occasion. Until Tasha took the stage was mainly preoccupied with his datapad, answering some business related emails and as such his holo-self would be looking down to an invisible datapad. Czerka still didn't suspect him of anything and the Mandalorians also didn't seem to think anything of his presence on Mandalore last month either, both were good signs if he wanted to continue his multitude of roles.

Crix's brow creased with reluctance as he took a draw on his crappy cigara. His eyes wandered up and down his final destination here on Corellia. The building was huge, it reminded him of his childhood on Coruscant, and those memories weren't exactly pleasant. Apprehensively he took one final drag on his vice and then let it go. He stamped out the cigara under his heel and entered the building.

The Smuggler was directed to a theater and upon entry realized he should have worn his nice tunic. He decided to not draw attention to himself and took a seat in the back. He leaned back in the chair and crossed one leg over the other languidly. He wanted a cigara really bad, but he kept his cool. He doubted sparking up in a stuffy office building would be acceptable. He sighed and made a mental note to attend the next meeting via holo... at least then he could've faked being dressed up.

Crix quickly found himself bored out of his mind and decided to size up his fellow co-workers. His first victim had a jaw that could cleave duracrete. Crix found himself self-consciously cupping his own chin then shook it off deciding to move on before he hurt his own pride. Beside Dura-Blue Steel, stood a thin man with pointed ears. Crix frowned riffling through the various sentient beings he knew and to his surprise this was the first time he'd seen someone with pointed ears. A tall woman with hair ink black hair in a low braid was next. She had an air of "Don't Frak With Me" and Crix was happy to oblige. Two members had decided to holo in and to Crix's surprise, he almost didn't recognize Burkhart.

The last member of the meeting was positioned perfectly in the center. She wasn't too close to the stage, but she wasn't too close to the back. Her attire was practical, and while everyone else was drinking some form of booze, she was sipping caf. Crix found her intriguing, he made a mental note to introduce himself but doubted he'd follow through.

Deciding his little game was bumming him out more than actually entertaining him, Crix sighed and slumped down in his seat getting comfortable. Whatever he was in store for, he was sure it was going to be suuuuuuuper exciting....

Tasha stepped out onto the stage and was proud to see everyone gathering there. It felt surreal to imagine that this had begun with just her and a few other girls that worked as dancers. She used her connections to potential investors and her charisma to grow this enterprise from the ground up. Today, the company had various holdings and expanded across the galaxy to where it had people dialing in from all corners of it.

She moved to stand behind a podium, smiling out at those in the crowd. Tasha wasn’t normally one for sentiments, but she couldn’t help but feel warm at seeing them. They all had made this possible, and they had helped her build this from the ground up. Tasha paused for a moment, her yellow eyes glowing in the lighting of the large hall. It wasn’t often that alien species stood tall and proud in a powerful position in a Core world, but here she was.

“Thank you all for gathering here today,” She began, “We have grown from a small business into a full blown corporation. We can now be the prime contractor when engaging clients and we no longer need to partner with larger organizations,” Tasha smiled, “This was only possible because of you. Each and every one of you helped shape and build this company from the ground up.”

She looked over the crowd, “I want to recognize some individuals that have gone above and beyond,” Tasha looked over at Gil, “First and foremost, I will be appointing Gillian Rel as Vice President of BIT,” The crowd burst into applause all around, “He has worked tirelessly for this company and has been a tremendous asset in gaining our holdings over our suppliers. I couldn’t be more proud to have him with me since the very beginning,” Tasha looked over at him for a moment, giving a genuine smile. @Raydo

Tasha looked over at Tagal next, “Next I’d like to announce Tagal Saxon as a Managing Director to oversee our Research and Development department,” More applause, “Mr. Saxon has been essential in the development in our new product line which has caused a massive surge of profits from the Imperials,” She smiled at him applauding along with the crowd. @Nefieslab

She then looked at Skuld, “Next I would like to announce the promotion of Skuld Stark, who has become one of our top engineers. She will now be appointed as Chief Engineer. She will have lead engineers reporting to her who will then be overseeing teams of their own,” More clapping, “Thank you all so much for all your hard work. I want it to be known that hard work always pays off here!” @Killa Ree

Tasha allowed the applause to die down before looking out at everyone once more, “I’d also like to introduce our new sales branch. There is plenty of opportunity for anyone to move into these roles. The sales roles will be quota based and be focused on ensuring that customers obtain and utilize our products. This new branch will yield tons of revenue and profit and pay extremely well, so I strongly suggest you get out there and get us more deals!”

“Now, enough babbling, let’s enjoy and celebrate the fruits of our labor!” Tasha waved at them as the music volume was turned up to allow everyone to begin mingling and drinking. She was used to the stage, but that didn’t mean she liked being up there forever. She made her way down and off stage, grabbing a cocktail off a passing tray.

The Morling listened and watched the smaller version of his own meeting return to his suite onboard his ship. All the same he quirked a smile and took a small sip of his beverage as Tasha spoke. The woman had the conviction of a leader. He knew from experience what it took to be a leader. Ask him ten years ago what he would have thought of all this and chances were it would be far different than what he felt now.

As she spoke about the people of significance Burkhart stood up to each of them instead of clapping. He had understood it was the gentlemanly thing to do and while he was a hard fought warrior he considered himself an accomplished businessman and wanted to conduct himself as such. The only exception was Tagal. The man had been on a specific mission with him and while the man was perhaps of questionable past the Morling added a raised glass as he stood before returning to his seat.

After the leader of the company finished what she had to say he would set down his glass and give her an applause worthy of her efforts. With that being complete he understood that there might be others that may want to converse with him. Considering this was a party he wondered if his ship should make a course correction and actually arrive. In the end he directed his pilot droid to alter course and have his ship head towards Corellia. The Mandalorian could be whimsical if he wanted to be. The Effervescent was surely capable. Until then he remained before the holo projector and would sip his beverage.

Gil was relaxed as he waited for Tasha to take the stage, he took a sip from his glass before pulling out his phone and flipping through several documents labeled Project Skyward. It would be there one of their new divisions focusing on the production of Starfighters. Still, in its infancy, there was still much work to be done before they even broke ground somewhere.

As Tasha took the stage, he slipped his phone back in his pocket. She had always been a force of nature on the Stage, thriving at the center of attention but now she wielded actual power. It was a good look for her. He applauded as she took the stage and listened as she began to speak. For the most part, the speech started like any other corporate speech would.

He froze when he heard his name, not being one for the spotlight. Her next words stiffened his whole body. This isn't what he wanted. He handled things behind the scenes, he always had. If Tasha thrived on the limelight, Gil was the same in the shadows. He would have preferred to have been told, but she likely knew he would have said no.

A slight scowl formed on his face that wasn't quite pouting but grew close. The rest of the speech blurred in the background for him. When he looked back up, music was playing and people were clapping once again. He stood, clapping even as his mind wandered elsewhere.

As she climbed down from the stairs, Gil approached her. "Don't you think we should have talked about this first?" he said quietly, making an effort to keep his expression positive looking. @Sreeya

The moment Tasha stepped on stage, her eyes were immediately arrested. She had to admit frankly, she was a beautiful woman. Arresting, even. Most who were raised in an Imperial society, perhaps, would not appreciate it, but Skuld certainly could, and ice blue eyes were calm, contemplative from her comfortable distance. She did feel eyes on her, and gave a slight nod to the stranger who did (@Zay ) happen to glance her way. She couldn't help being uncomfortable around so many people... it was not easy to talk of things she felt were out of her depth, or pretend to enjoy something which she clearly did not.

So when announcements came around, she was quite comfortable sitting back and listening, every now and then chancing a sip from her glass. Every now and then, her gaze darted to those faces unfamiliar to her, such as another dark-haired woman, and a Morling, and even another human-looking male whom also seemed content to keep his social distance.

She raised her glass slightly in a toast to Gil, humming with satisfaction at the promotion. Even though they were mere acquaintances, her judgement of him seemed he was all around... a good man.

Odd in such a place like the galaxy they lived in.

And then... Tagal. She beamed proudly before she even realized she had, the glass halfway raised to her lips as they curled in a surprised burst of pride. Her voice was low, husky, a throaty whisper as she chuckled quietly, perhaps unheard by the crowd as the limelight was turned on him. He had truly worked hard... she didn't know why she felt quite so happy for this. Perhaps it was a good thing.

"Not bad for a smith... managing director, hmm? Interesting."

She didn't have time to dwell on that thought before the spotlight on her was suddenly switched. Her eyes snapped to meet Tasha's yellow ones. Although little could floor the Deucalian... her very pale cheeks seemed to take on a slight rosy cast of surprise. And shock. She could hardly breathe with all the eyes on her, and the woman's words were almost lost before her mind caught up to her. Chief... Engineer? Her?

She would have stumbled back if she weren't so rooted, but instead forced herself to smile and raise her glass slightly to Tasha, but no doubt she looked as stunned as she felt. Her immediate thought was she didn't deserve this. Considering all that she had done and gone through in the last few weeks... she didn't expect to be recognized for anything.

"Not bad, boss..." she whispered quietly when the speech wrapped up, downing the rest of her drink as quickly as she could. However, with all of these eyes upon her she felt stripped clear to the bone. They weren't unfriendly gazes, but there was little she could say or do to process the news. She didn't even think she was noticed... or that her efforts made so much of an impact.

Perhaps she had misjudged.

She slowly strode up behind Tagal, her voice low, amused.

"Not bad for a Mando smith..." she chuckled, perking a black brow. "The promotion looks good, too," and gave a smirk. In heels, she was taller than most... but yet for Tagal, they were finally level.

But then... speech time was up. However, she needed another drink or two before she could really start to mingle. She snagged another drink, this time not even looking at its' contents before taking a sip. Another smooth warmth all the way down... she stepped away from Tagal, content to melt back into the crowd of people as best as she could.

But how was one to mingle and be social? The rest of them made it seem so easy... She took another fortifying sip, bracing herself to talk to someone. Who to begin with was the better question.

Zatara shook her head as she was asked how many people would be in attendance. She assumed that if the call had gone out to everyone, then there would be quite a large group in attendance. And judging by the size of the room, that was an apt assessment of the situation.

As she took another sip of her caf, that female intuition (or was it the Force?) pushed the hair on the back of her neck up. It was the feeling she got whenever someone was looking at her. Not just grazing their eyes across, but really looking for some sort of alternative purpose. It didn't bother her - in fact, she received looks like that frequently - but it did force her to once again take note of who it was looking her way.

Hmm, passive glance or something more intentional? she wondered to herself.

Her attention turned to the stage as Tasha began to speak, and as expected, she clapped when it was appropriate, genuinely happy for those who had been promoted. The company was already booming, and every step it took forward, the better for her. The better for them all. It was on the climb, and she intended to ride high with the company.

As the party began, Zatara took yet another sip of her caf, becoming painfully aware that it was running low, and making a note that she needed to retrieve more, though she was also curious to see if the man who had been looking at her actually found the courage to come over and say hello. If not, she wondered if she'd have to give him some sort of hard time about staring without taking a step (@Zay).

Tasha was a public speaker, who knew?

Tagal certainly hadn't but that was hardly the focus. When Gillian was promoted, Tagal nodded in agreement and clapped his hands. The man had deserved some form of recognition and a promotion made sense; he didn't know the man personally to know if he was the type of guy to enjoy sitting behind a desk calling the shots though. From what he had seen of the man, Gillian was going to be the kind of Vice President who found any excuse to get out from behind his desk and right into the thick of things.

Probably why he got the position in the first place honestly.

Of course getting the position of Managing Director...?

That was unexpected. Tagal's grip on his glass tightened on reflex and his broke the glass, thankfully giving him something to focus on that wasn't the onrush of attention he received for his promotion. It wasn't that he wasn't grateful or that he didn't want the job - it was because he had never expected to get it. He ran a hand through his hair even as the waiting staff cleaned up the glass. He made sure to tip the server for the service.

Skuld being promoted was a more pleasant surprise. He shook his head in bemusement.

"I didn't think she even knew I existed, let alone thought I was worth such a promotion." he admitted to Skuld even as he accepted another glass from a server, "Chief Engineer suits you as well Skuld. I guess this means you'll have to come to me to get your ship ideas approved."

And wasn't that going to be a new sensation.

The Smuggler watched the proceedings with mild interest. The speaker was eloquent and concise, much to Crix's relief. The group of beings he'd noticed earlier were each promoted. Well, almost all of them. That brought his attention back to the woman from before. (@Phoenix) Well, now he had to say hello. His previous anxiety was replaced by curiosity and as Tasha encouraged them to celebrate, Crix decided to investigate.

Crix carefully picked his way through the room. His attire glaringly casual compared to the suits surrounding him. He pilfered a pair of cafs from a nearby serving droid and navigated the undulating masses as he continued on his little adventure. The room was loosening up and the hushed tones of serious conversation were giving way to excited chatter. Crix slid in next to Zatara peeking into her nearly empty coffee cup and breathing a small sigh of relief when she was almost out.

"Caf?" he asked.

Zatara was just shy of finishing her cup when the man who had been looking at her earlier came over with some relief. It seemed he had worked up the courage to come over, and bearing gifts to boot. That seemed like a win-win to her.

You certainly know the way to a lady's heart, she said with a smile, accepting the cup and tossing her last one in the nearby trash bin. It's through a good cup of caf, she said, sipping her new cup of caf. Although he wasn't dressed as fine as some of the others in the room, he didn't seem ashamed of his attire, and she couldn't decide if that was a good thing or bad.

Zatara, she said, extending her now empty hand to be shaken. I don't believe we've been introduced. What do you do for the company? she asked. @Zay

She was about to let Tagal be.

Honestly, the man needed more than just her hanging around. But when he spoke, she paused, stepping up beside him. She took another sip, wisely ignoring the breaking of his glass. A low chuckle vibrated in her throat at his comment, nodding absently. It seemed people were mostly breaking off into groups; hardly surprising, at an event like this you would be hard-pressed to be openly engaging in several social groups at once.

She waited until taking one careful swallow of her drink before replying, her voice low. "I did not expect she even knew I existed either, Tagal..." she grinned, waggling her brows slightly with a telltale smirk. "Not much will change, I think. We will be busy... but you have deserved it. And of course you will have approval. I have many ships you may like, in fact."

When the server returned with a new glass, she waited until he had his, then offered hers out to clink, the wry grin still in place.

"To Blackwell?" she chuckled, eyes glinting with a rare bit of humor. "May there never be a dull moment, malmhaus."

The crowd was breaking up into smaller groups as these things were want to do once announcements had actually been made. He was already feeling uncomfortable in his suit but having to nod and smile to some people he had never met or heard of when they smiled and offered their congratulations? The room was full of people and only like seven of them actually mattered when it came to the business.

Number was actually roughly the same for those people in the room he would be interested in speaking with for any length of time honestly.

He sipped at his drink and tried not to let his mind wander back to projects he was working on. There were some plans he was working on for pieces of armour and weaponry but he supposed they could wait for now. Time enough and space enough to do that later he supposed. He smirked a little bit.

"Indeed there isn't, Ice Brain." he agreed before raising his class, "But I agree - a toast."

He raised his glass and spoke clearly.

"To Blackwell; may it make us all filthy rich."

The scruffy smuggler dipped his head graciously as Zatara accepted his offer. He was glad she seemed to have sense of humor, and wondered if she was sizing him up the way he was her. His practiced paranoia screamed “DUH!” But he didn’t care. Moronic affability had become his general schtick and it was a surprisingly effective cover.

Zatara tossed her empty cup into the trash bin and then introduced herself. Crix took her hand and felt the force shudder at their touch.

Interesting, he noted. Maybe there was more to this meeting than he’d originally realized.

“Nice to meet you Zatara, I’m Crix,” he flashed her a playful grin and sipped at his drink while he considered her question.

“I dabble in sales and acquisitions.” He said, shifting slightly to face her. “What about you?”

Zatara had his full attention which was an impressive feat. He took a moment to actually get a look at her. She was obviously attractive, but there was more to her than raven locks and azure eyes.

Knowing he couldn’t keep all of his attention on her he took a moment to scan the room. The recently promoted were being mobbed by various bottom feeders who were scrabbling to offer their congratulatory niceties. Satisfied with his routine scan he relaxed into his chair a little and enjoyed his new acquaintances company.

It was nice to make a little small talk for once. He couldn’t remember the last time he had a real conversation with another being that didn’t end in drawn blasters or ignited lightsabers.

sorry I’m posting from phone while traveling
