my knowledge about stars goes about as far that there are 9 planets (10 if you count titan) in the milky way. and that there are galaxys and whatnot.[/b]

Actually there are only 8 planets... Pluto is no longer classed as a planet.

Let us suppose for one moment that space is infinite. Now if it was infinite that means there could be more than one universe in this dimension there could be infinite which would make it multiverse. Then that is only our dimension then you suppose that there is more than one dimension, let us say there is five dimensions. Then there would be 5*the number of universes within each dimension. Which would make 5*Infinity but then of there are other dimensions that could mean that those dimensions only have one universe. All means that you could find a species just like ours if this is true. Then our universe could be a galaxy in a bigger universe and so on into infinity (there is that word again), if that is true than there are infinite number of possibility for everything.

It is scary what I think so I give you this quote:

But your creating Fancy, thought it fit
To make your World of Nothing, but pure Wit.
Your Blazing-world, beyond the Stars mounts higher,
Enlightens all with a Celestial Fire.

[/b]
Millions actually. Galaxies are HUGE.

There is only 1 universe.

However if the theory of alternate realities is true then there could be more.

But in our relm of exsistance there is only 1.

or according to keanu...there are billions of them!

from my GCSE astrophysics knowledge, and my own Astrophysics nerd knowledge, i know that there is only 1 universe, and it is expanding. Gravity is working against this expansion, and, if our Universe is a closed universe, then it will collapse together in the 'big crunch' if it is open, then it will continuously expand, but it will slow down steadily.

In my opinion, there is only 1 universe, and, there are most likely other species, but the fact they haven't shown themselves is because they would have to be SUPER advanced to, i.e. antimatter/warp engines.

that and we have to be interesting (besides our 'stupidity' and nukes I guess)
But if there are more dimensions there could also be more earths. but that would be getting very deep into it.

Just call it the Multiverse, Kara. Dimensions, parallel universes, etc. are basically the same thing. Though it really just depends on the context in which we use the word "universe".

If we go by one context it's: "the summation of all particles that exist and the space in which all events occur".

I dont like how you use the word dimension i think its wrong, dimensions are like up down left righ (and light iv heard?) so another dimension wouldnt actualy be a whole other universe maybe just a part of it or a way of getting to it.

In my opinion, our universe is inside a box. A small little box that others who are advanced enough to break a large barrier of a universe and observed us until we invented the nuke. After that, they said screw it and walked away. But I am serious about the box thing. No matter what shape, I believe we are enclosed inside something, rendering it impossible for us to leave unless we become more advanced. After that happens, we will probably not be stupid 50% of the time.

No, I am not really serious. Another dimension/infinite parallel universes sounds like what is true in the galaxy. I mean, come on, what would end space? A large white area? Or, maybe space is actually a giant planet, in which Earth is just a small bump and surrounded by millions of other planets. It is know for a fact there is at least like 1 million planets in the smallest area of a picture taken via satellite.

i doubt it would be a big white stop because for it to be whote you would need alot of light, if anything the universe will stop with black

Maybe a line of large stars, each baring the reflected light of a sun three times the size of ours.

Not necessarily. There are different definitions to define dimensions in science than one would use in everyday English.
Dimensions are theorized to be parallel planes of existence to our own. Like the light and dark worlds of a Zelda game or some other, for example.
Understand now?
