Bes'uliik War Droid: Model SS (Shereshoy Sornell) - 1012 (ABY)

Shereshoy Sornell, one of the top Engineers from MandalMotors has long frequented the use of his beloved Bes'uliik. After years of modifying and upgrading his own mount he started to plan schematics for a new generation of Bes'uliik’s to make sure the Sornell clan (home of the feared Bes'uliik riders) kept their razor sharp edge against any opponents on the modern battlefield.

However the credit cannot solely granted to him, for many of the upgrades in weapons technology and shield generation were not his creations, he has merely adapted and moulded these inventions to this new set of designs.

What he found was that the traditional Bes'uliik design was very adept for most situations but the peripherals were dated and could do with modernisations which would radically upgrade the beasts fighting abilities and create possibilities for extensive modularisation was unavailable on the older model.

There are two ‘extra’ independent modules which have been created which can quickly be added to the Basalisk by extension seals which magnetically seal and incorporate them into the droid. These are the “Space” and “Quick Assault” modules.​

Overview: On the surface this model looks completely identical to the previous as the special alloy used for the hull and its arrangement have not been significantly altered (at least not for mass produced models). The shield generator and propulsion systems have been upgraded and the efficiency of fuel to power ratio has been improved as well.

What has altered significantly is the modularity as now aswell as the “Space” and “Quick assault” modules to be installed onto the Bes'uliik there are also varying modules for extra armour, extra weaponry or extra propulsion.

A far more radical transformation has taken place, a notable feature that took much consideration and debate than any other feature. The iron beasts take pride in the element of surprise and Shereshoy has created a way to vastly improve the element of surprise that might revolutionize Bes'uliik tactics.

Any sentient who rides a Bes'uliik down to the surface ontop of the droid can only withstand so much atmospheric pressure, it is a given that many young Mandalorians die by overexerting their bodies in the thrill of combat. But Shereshoy has managed to create a compartment 2 meters long and one meter deep (to make way for the biggest species that are in the Mandalorian military) in which the Mandalorian can remotely control the droid and accelerate her to far greater speeds then were previously possible. This new feature although undoubtedly unpopular would allow Mandalorians to retain the advantage (Although Shereshoy recognizes that it is a given that once the droid breaks through the planetary defenses that the Mandalorian would mount their beasts for the battle)

"INDOMITABLE" (Space Module)

Overview: The deep space module has far thicker armour then the typical Bes'uliik and thus is a taller and wider target. The main difference is, is that this module can take far more damage than the ‘average’ Bes'uliik. There are also laser cannons built into the new armour on either side, underneath on the back that the new upgraded interface automatically can focus on threats from all sides while the rider can focus on the priority target.

Maneuverability is maintained by the addition of a further two T100 Solus-Vekkan Boosters (although this and the extra weight take a toll on the new power pack [the upgraded and more powerful shield generator plays a key role in this aswell]).

Due to the new power efficiency this module is practical and deadly.

"PRESERVER" (Quick Attack Module)

Overview: The “Quick Assault” Module is playing on the new ‘compartment’ which allows far greater speed. This is the extremities of this evolution adding extra boosters while keeping the armour and weapons identical to the typical Bes'uliik.

This module was created in order for the first strikes against military targets and the attack on installations. It is extremely hard to control and thus reserved for those veterans who desire it (for the boundary between Mandalorian and droid control is a precarious balance that must be taken into account).
