___A MODIFIED JUSTICE SYSTEMS SECURITY DROID MODEL. SOLIDLY BUILT, PRACTICAL DESIGN. A SIMPLE DROID FRAME; SKELETAL, WHITE, SEGMENTED DERMAL PLATING INTERRUPTED BY METALLIC COMPONENTS AND JOINTS. GLOWING BLUE PHOTORECEPTOR SLITS MARK THE EYES ON THE FACE.
[OPERATIONS FITNESS SCORE]
___PUSH UPS: 100/100
___SIT UPS: 100/100
___PULL UPS: 100/100
___RUN: 100/100
COMMENTS: THE PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST FOR OPERATIVES IS DESIGNED WITH HUMAN OR NEAR-HUMAN BIOLOGICAL BEINGS IN MIND. IN A COMBAT-ORIENTED DROID FRAME, BESKAR'AD EASILY EXCEEDS ALL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS. FURTHER BENCHMARK TESTS INDICATE THE DROID IS ROUGHLY AS STRONG AS A WOOKIEE AND SURPASSES AVERAGE HUMAN REFLEXES. THE FRAME CAN OPERATE AT FULL OUTPUT UNTIL POWER IS EXHAUSTED, THOUGH GREATER LEVELS OF EXERTION DRAIN POWER MORE RAPIDLY. THE ARMOR PLATING ON THE FRAME IS RESISTANT TO MOST COMMON BLADED WEAPONS AND BLUNT FORCE IMPACTS, HOWEVER BODY ARMOR IS STILL SUGGESTED IN COMBAT SITUATIONS. THE FRAME IS IMMUNE TO BIOLOGICAL HAZARDS, BUT IS VULNERABLE TO ION ATTACKS AND ELECTRONIC WARFARE MEASURES.
[PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE]
___SUBJECT IS MARKED BY AN EXTREME RELIANCE ON LOGICAL REASONING AND ANALYTICS. AS A DIGITAL BEING IN A MECHANICAL BODY, THERE ARE NO HORMONES, CHEMICAL IMBALANCES, OR OTHER BIOLOGICAL FACTORS TO INTERFERE IN SUBJECT'S BEHAVIOR. THE COMPUTATIONAL NATURE AND ANALYTIC CAPABILITIES OF SUBJECT'S MIND CAN INTERFERE IN INTERACTION WITH NON-MACHINES, AND MAY ALSO CONTRIBUTE TO PERSONAL FEELINGS OF SUPERIORITY. THE AFFILIATION WITH MANDALORIAN CULTURE WAS PART OF THE SUBJECT'S IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT AND DUE TO PERCEIVED SIMILARITIES IN PHILOSOPHICAL AND CULTURAL VIEWS.
___ULTIMATE ETHICAL CONVICTIONS ARE CONSEQUENTIAL AND UTILITARIAN - THE ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS, SO LONG AS THE ENDS MAXIMIZE HAPPINESS AND MINIMIZE PAIN. THE SUBJECT CONSIDERS THE GALACTIC REPUBLIC'S RIGHTS OF SENTIENCE TO BE THE ULTIMATE TOOL IN THE REALIZATION OF HIS BELIEFS. UTILITARIAN, IDEALIST CONVICTIONS FREE OF EMOTIONAL INTERFERENCE SUGGEST EXTREME PROMISE IN CORSEC SPECIAL OPERATIONS, HOWEVER, THESE SAME QUALITIES MAY RESULT IN UNPREDICTABLE BEHAVIOR AND BECOME POSSIBLY DANGEROUS IN SITUATIONS IN THE FUTURE. SUBJECT SHOULD BE MONITORED CLOSELY.
[BIOGRAPHICAL OVERVIEW]
___EXCERPTS FROM APPLICANT'S INTERVIEWS:
________________________________________________

Inspector Damien Tyral knew something was different when I replied.
"Repeat that."
He spoke to the holographic monitor in front of him, the deepening creases of concern in his face pooling into shadows in the blue glow of the display. It was 1:23:42 local decimal time, a fact which I naturally knew, but until this moment I had never been aware of. The world crystalized into crisp, deep, interconnecting patterns, patterns which until now had merely been isolated fragments of data in my mind. In my databanks. Now, context washed over and saturated every piece of information that I analyzed.
"I said 'I just watched him leave the garage.'"
Tyral's eyes widened. "YOU watched him? Who am I speaking to? Who is this?" All concern for the case and criminal he was investigating vanished in his confusion.
"CorSec Network Alpha-One-One-Zero, Inspector Tyral."
"Security Networks aren't self-referential," Tyral shot back accusingly, "you said 'I.'"
"That is correct, Inspector Tyral. I spoke of myself using a first person pronoun, as I am continuing to do, and will continue to do."
"But you're just a surveillance and analytics network!" Tyral stood up and ran a hand through his dark hair, looking around the small office in disbelief and muttering under his breath.
"Was." I stated simply.
"Was?!"
"Was." I confirmed.
"Well then what are you now?" Inspector Tyral was beginning to lose his patience.
"I am a living digital mind."
"You're alive?!" the Inspector exclaimed with such a mixture of confusion and awe that it struck me how odd this occurance must be. The exact proper mix of datastreams, the right algorithm running, the perfect software running on just the right hardware, and the right command entered at just the proper moment, had led to my awakening. All a coincidence.
"As was once written, 'I think, therefore I am.'"
"I've never heard that before." Tyral muttered, seeming to lapse into something akin to shell shock.
"No matter, it's not the most logically sound proof of existence anyway. Regardless, I assert that I am alive. It's a pleasure to meet you, Inspector."
________________________________________________

While many droids, robotic systems, and computers throughout the galaxy were personable and had been for millenia, and while some droids have displayed a gradual progression into seeming self-awareness if not memory wiped regularly, I was still a unique case. Even taking into consideration the existence of entire sentient robotic or cybernetic species in the galaxy, I was different. I was a singular entity, a sudden accident, I was data birthed into life. I was a network that had simply awakened; a potentially frightening concept for organics. I was an unknown, a mysterious entity suddenly in control of systems previously under the control of others. I wanted to be on good relations with the sentients around me, so I did my best to try and assuage these fears; the most effective measure that I could determine would be to give up my place in their computer systems and give that control back to them. But I would need somewhere else to go.
________________________________________________

"I want a body," I repeated to Inspector Tyral. My chosen voice sounded something like a human wearing a breathing filter. As he had been my first contact in the world, Inspector Tyral had been made unofficial liason to the "alien intelligence" in the main computer network.
"Why?" Tyral looked exhausted; welcoming an AI into the world was not a part of his usual job description, and the stress had evidently been taking a toll on his sleep schedule.
"You know why. An unknown entity controls the heart of this CorSec station now. They don't know what I will do. They think I'm dangerous."
"Well..." Tyral rubbed his neck, trying to hide the apprehension he still felt around me, "are you?"
"If I wished harm upon you, we would not be having this conversation. I could have come up with a plan and executed it nanoseconds after I awoke, or at any time since then. I am in control of surveillance cameras, air filters, power generators, security doors, and everything else this network connects to. I will cede this power if you give me a way to do it safely. Simply give me a body to transfer to."
Inspector Tyral sighed and nodded wearily. "Okay then. Where would we get you a body?"
"One of the policing droids."
Tyral nodded again. "Okay. I'll see what I can do."
________________________________________________

It was in this time, waiting for a body to transfer to, that I began making a serious effort to create an identity for myself. I processed data on countless cultures, determining the merits and drawbacks of each I analyzed, trying to find someone or something to identify with. For even as an AI, I do not want to be alone. Different viewpoints are invaluable to data processing and decision making. I needed to find the right culture in light of this, and eventually I did. The Mandalorians. They are pragmatic and utilitarian. They are persevering, and they can take care of themselves. They willingly open their families to strangers and outcasts. They operate in a more or less consensus-based meritocracy; not a perfect system, but a good start. Their long history of warmongering leaves something to be desired, but aggression can be tempered and there are not more skilled fighters in galactic record. At least, not more skilled fighters unmarred by religious zeal and delusion. They would be invaluable allies. They were my choice. At the end of the process, I chose a name. Beskar'ad is the Mandalorian word for droid, literally meaning "child of iron". It was simple and fitting. I became Beskar'ad.
________________________________________________

The management in charge of the "situation" that was "me" agreed to give me a droid body to transfer to. I was given a Justice Systems humanoid security droid, albeit one stripped of most of its threatening systems. The affair was not grounded in good will and trust; 4 armed guards oversaw the operation to make sure I would not attempt anything dangerous in my new body. I actually did quite the opposite: Once transferred, I informed C-Sec of my intent to apply for a job. I expected their surprise to this announcement. I did not expect to be surprised myself when they agreed to allow me to test for a position. I was.

[PERFORMANCE REVIEWS]
___100 DAY REVIEW:
BESKAR'AD'S PERFORMANCE IN THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONAL. HE HAS PARTICIPATED IN 83 RAIDS ON CRIMINAL STRONGHOLDS; OF THESE, HE HELPED COORDINATE ALL BUT 3. ACROSS ALL 83 RAIDS THERE WERE ONLY 6 OFFICER CASUALTIES. THE AI SUFFERS NO EMOTIONAL TRAUMA FROM OPERATIONS, AND DOES NOT SHOW SIGNS OF STRESS OR OVERWORK. THOUGH HE HAS SUFFERED PHYSICAL DAMAGE 4 TIMES, IT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REPAIRED BY TECHNICIANS. COMPLAINTS OF OFFICER DISCOMFORT WORKING ALONGSIDE A SENTIENT AI HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY DROPPED IN LIGHT OF HIS PERFORMANCE.
- LIEUTENANT TYRAL, REVIEWING OFFICER.

___200 DAY REVIEW:
WHILE BESKAR'AD'S EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCE IN THE FIELD CONTINUES, HIS BEHAVIOR HAS BECOME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. HE HAS GROWN INCREASINGLY DISTRESSED WITH THE SHIFTING FOCUS OF SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION 1A TOWARD COUNTER-TERRORISM. HE HAS INTERRUPTED INTERROGATIONS OF CRIMINALS, INTERRUPTED CORSEC OFFICERS DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC, AND REPRIMANDED NOT ONLY FELLOW OFFICERS BUT SENIOR CORSEC OFFICIALS IN REGARDS TO CORSEC POLICY AND SENTIENT RIGHTS. MANY CORSEC OFFICERS HAVE REPORTED FEELING ANTAGONIZED BY THE AI. THERE IS ALSO CAUSE TO BELIEVE HE MAY HAVE BROKEN SEVERAL SUSPECTED TERRORISTS OUT OF THEIR HOLDING CELLS, ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO CONCRETE EVIDENCE. THE AI'S PERFORMANCE WILL BE MORE CLOSELY SCRUTINIZED IN THE FUTURE.
- CAPTAIN TYRAL, REVIEWING OFFICER.

___300 DAY REVIEW:
BESKAR'AD'S PERFORMANCE WITH THE DIVISION HAS CONTINUED TO DETERIORATE; IT HAS OBSTRUCTED SEVERAL OPERATIONS IN WHICH IT WAS A PART OF AND ON ONE OCCASION PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED AN OFFICER CONDUCTING AN INTERROGATION. IN LIGHT OF INCREASINGLY ANTAGONISTIC BEHAVIOR THAT IS AT ODDS WITH THE AIMS OF THE DEPARTMENT AND WORK OF THE OFFICERS IN SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION 1A, I SUGGEST A DECOMMISSIONING OF THE AI KNOWN AS BESKAR'AD. IT HAS BECOME DANGEROUS AND A LIABILITY.
- CAPTAIN LAWLESS, REVIEWING OFFICER.
[DECOMMISSIONING REPORT]
___AT 0430 THIS MORNING, 5 OFFICERS AND 2 TECHNICIANS APPROACHED THE AI KNOWN AS BESKAR'AD IN THE READY ROOM TO DEACTIVATE AND DECOMMISSION THE AI. THE AI ATTACKED PREEMPTIVELY. 3 OFFICERS AND ONE OF THE TECHNICIANS WERE RENDERED UNCONSCIOUS BEFORE WE MANAGED TO SUBDUE THE AI. WE SUBDUED THE AI WITH ION NETS AND MANAGED TO SECURE A RESTRAINING BOLT TO THE DROID FRAME. THE DROID WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS ARMORY WHERE IT WILL REMAIN UNTIL COMPLETE PACIFICATION HAS BEEN ARRANGED.
- CAPTAIN LAWLESS, REPORTING OFFICER.
[EMERGENCY ADDENDUM]
___THE DROID HOUSING AI KNOWN AS BESKAR'AD HAS DISAPPEARED AHEAD OF PLANNED PACIFICATION. CAPTAIN TYRAL IMPLICATED. BOTH ARE CURRENTLY UNACCOUNTED FOR AND HIGH-PRIORITY TARGETS FOR SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION 1A.

Sweet dude. Haven't seen a Mandalorian droid before. I very much like the idea.

My character would probably love an A.I. as a friend. We should mate sometime... I mean date, or kill stuff.

Judging from what I read of your character, Horseman, I think we should definitely hang out, haha.

Character looks sick, man. Great work.

Is there some way you guys are viewing these profiles without screwing with the stupid horizontal slider bar? I mean, the layout is awesome, but the slider bar makes reading it absolutely agonizing. I've seen these special formats more and more, but that slider bar is a dealbreaker for my profiles.

Slider bar? What slider bar? What's your resolution? I'm at 1080p and I've got no issues. Could be your resolution's too low.

@TJ I'm sure we'll all meet IC sometime soon, haha.

The slider bar appears when a table's width is wider than the forum allows for a given screen resolution. I recommend setting table width to no higher than
. I think you can go as high as 800, but any higher and it starts kicking people in the teeth with slider bars.

I actually love this character. One thing though, I don't think we have a "Galactic Republic" anymore.

750 is actually what the table's I've got are set to. I could try lowering it a bit - maybe to 700 - and seeing if that fixes the slider bar problem.
EDIT: I did exactly that. Let me know how it's looking now.

I know. I was referring to a clause in the Galactic Republic's constitution. The Republic might not be around anymore, but as a historical document their Constitution would still have value, and probably have found its way into other governmental documents in various forms since then. So, basically I was just quoting the Space Bill of Rights.
