When you look at Bella, you see a pretty woman. When I look at her, I see an incredibly intelligent woman turned cyborg.

Bella began in a science lab as part of a secret eugenics program for spy superiority. As an embryo, her vital signs were carefully monitored by medical droid specialists who made sure she developed to the “best” capacity possible. At the age of five, Bella was outfitted with enhanced cybernetics to ensure absolute loyalty to the benefactor of her seller’s choosing. A code was to be implanted into the cybernetics enhancing her brain; however, something went wrong in the procedure. The “loyalty code” wasn’t properly installed, unbeknownst to the personnel at hand (for it had never been done before). Instead of enhancing loyalty, it enhanced her free will and naturally made Bella, or Test Subject Mark VI, more curious and high functioning when it came to the world around her.

As she aged, more cybernetics were added onto the girl’s existing basis. Multiple tendrils of machinery had hair woven around them to obscure their true purpose which allowed for slicing, upgrading, and electrocuting (by overriding a few codes for self-defense). A data bank was added to allow for long term memory storage, as well as a communication unit and many firewalls to prevent slicing. No changes were made to the rest of her body, however.

At the age of sixteen, when all of her cybernetic “enhancements” were complete, methods of battle like Teräs Käsi, gun fighting, starship piloting, anti-Force assault, and even terrorism were programed into her data banks and practiced upon. She began her simulation training, eventually moving up to the real thing, and then was priced and ready to be sold at the age of twenty-one.

Still, everyone was still in the dark about her “loyalty code”. So, every chance she’d gotten, she “plugged herself in” and read about the outside world, about social conduct, and even went as far to download some of the things she regarded as relevant. After a small bidding war, Test Subject Mark VI was bought by a Hutt. She served as his spy, infiltrator, slicer, and eventually his lieutenant for a year, but not before being given the alias Bella Terrell.

It just so happened that we met one day, me having attended a high class mission with her for the Hutt, and she told me her story and we had our conversation.

“Do you ever wonder what else there is? I was sold and designed to be this… enemy, but is that all I’m meant for? The program that created me, kept me hidden for all these years, was I just money to them? Is all I am to the Hutt a pretty face and security? I don’t see what’s keeping me from walking out,”

“Nothing, aside from having bounty hunters come after you.”

“If that’s it… Then I’m leaving. I’ve handled my fair share of them for the blasted slug. I want to experience what all these other people have. Downloading firsthand accounts is only so entertaining… I want to know what Naboo smells like, what Kashyyyk looks like, how it feels to pet an Ewok,”

I chuckled.

“To do that, you’re going to need money. More money than the Hutt allows you,”

“I’ll find something. It may be similar, but at least I can do what I want,”

And with that, she stated her case to the Hutt and began to make her leave, only for him to try to use the “loyalty code”. As he stated the keyword, however, something happened. She looked at him, as if hatred had burned through her. A different, mechanical-esque voice took over.

“No one tells me what to do.”

With that, she began shooting the place ablaze. Everyone except me. Sure, there were only about five of us in there and she was a rather quick draw, but her display was… Impressive, to say the least. When she headed my way, I fiddled for my blaster, not knowing what to expect, but she disarmed me and whispered in my ear, with her voice now normal: “Thanks.”

I haven’t seen her since, but her blow to the Hutt Cartel was enough to put her on the Hutt cartel’s bounty list. I’d like to assume she’s off planet, climbing wroshyr trees and finding her own work, but I have a feeling she’s still looking for a job.

Ah, another cyborg. Could be interesting to see her and Jenraux 626 interact. Andregaard, too, but he's a bit busy with the war and all.
