OOC: PvP forbidden, Shenanigans encouraged, Sith Only

"Quil Satorian could dance the pants off any man, woman or Hutt in the damn Galaxy and he was one karking KING of a wingman!"

Ilyra was, as some old people said, 'in her cups' right now. She had started a little memorial drinking session for Quil upon making her way back to civilized space. Civilized space having gotten that little bit smaller since the Mandalorians had managed to advance their interests into the Inner Rim with their attacks on Corellia and Kuat.

She was taking it a little bit harder than she took any other Mandalorian push because she had been involved in battles for both. True, she had been out of her depth on both occasions but she had pushed, she had put herself out there.

Behind the controls of her fighter she had danced with the Mandalorian pilots.

If only she had been a little bit faster though... she wouldn't be drinking with some random flight cadets and pilots she didn't know. If she had been a bit better she would have been having this drink with Quil himself.

Instead she had put out the word that there were to be drinks in his honour and the Imperial-Friendly bar had opened it's doors and it's taps wide. She took another pull from her bottle as she tapped the dancing gif of the man that had been keyed up on a datapad.

"... you still dance better than Williams."

Entering the establishment, Esther felt and looked noticeably awkward. She'd never been to a bar before - tell a lie, she had, just never on her own. Never without her 'handler'. She was twitchy however, peeking over her shoulder every so often, just to be safe. Maybe this was a test. A cruel joke - she'd best keep her wits about her.

Shuffling to the bar, the Kiffar perched herself on one of the stools, her eyes wandering across and around the surrounding scene. People seem to having near enough a good time; music was playing and drinks were flowing. She hadn't even ordered anything before the bartender poured one for her. Esther stared at it at first, not sure what it actually was - from the smell, it was something mild. Her cautious sip confirmed it; she could nurse it easy enough.

She wondered though, why hadn't she had to pay? Was there something she missed?

Looking for answers, Esther gaze fell on an uncomfortably similar green skinned woman.

Could she be...?

Zarya had come here for one reason and one reason only, to speak with the host, Ilyra, though she might stick around once they had words depending on the liveliness of the gathering.

Entering the bar in her robes, she scanned the bar for Ilyra, quickly finding her looking at her datapad, she walked up behind her as silent as the night,"I'm sorry for your loss," peered over her shoulder at data pad with the image of man they were celebrating, "were you too close?" her voice was sincere, she too knew the loss of friends and loved ones, so she had an idea of what she was going through.

Ilyra looked away from the datapad, taking a drink as she did, and noticed a weird woman on a barstool staring at her. Staring was normal in a bar but this woman seemed to be taking it to an extreme and, honestly, being a bit weird about it. She frowned a little bit before it turned into a scowl.

"What're you looking at human? Never seen a green girl?" She scoffed, "Go back to snorting glitter."

Bloody space racists.

Of course then there was someone Ilyra did actually know. Smiling a little bit, Ilyra opened her arms wide to the pink woman and gave her a brief hug. Zarya was older than she was but Ilyra still liked her and she was the first person to ask about Quil - everyone else either knew him vaguely or didn't know what the hell was going on.

"Zarya - I'm sorry I wasn't there after Corellia." she apologized to her ally, "I was rushed off to Kuat to try and push back the space attack. Quil and I attacked a cruiser. He was a mad bugger... just got unlucky. He was a pilot I've flown with before on a couple missions, someone I've always really gotten along with. Well... used to get along with I guess now..."

Esther balked at the green lady's venom; she hadn't expected it, though really she should have. The galaxy was full of all sorts of people, from cut throats and thugs, to hostiles and Sith. And being a slave to one, Esther should have known better than to answer back, but she shouldn't stop herself. Right now, she was sick of people snapping at her.

"Excuse your face then." She said with a huffed, taking a bigger swig of her drink than she actually meant to her, "You just reminded me of someone."

A monster of a man. Esther shivered just thinking about him; he was unpredictable at times. One minute he's dragging her across the galaxy and the next he sends her to this bar, saying she'll be summoned than needed. Who even does that?

With a sigh, Esther took another sip. Each time, the liquor went down a little smoother.

As Ilyra arms surrounded Zarya, her mind and body froze for a moment, her train of thought derailed. she didn't expect a hug from Ilyra, well she didn't expect hugs from anyone within the empire, not anymore at least. she thought Ilyra might be scared of her since most sith wouldn't take kindly to being left for dead on the battlefield by an ally but here she is hugging her. she eventual hugged back before she pulled away it had been so very long since she had a hug.

Zaya listened to Ilyra talk about her late friend, it did seem she actually cared for man to some degree "well I'm sorry to hear that, I too have had friends who got unlucky, you're not alone in that." Zarya grew quiet for a second considering whether she should say what she came to say since Ilyra seemed unconcerned about it but it might be best to get it out there.

"Ilyra, I came here today because I want to say something," she took a deep breath "I came here to say I don't blame you for what happened on Corellia, that was on me, you did the smart thing and retreated while you still could so I can't fault you for that." Zarya breathed a sigh of relief like a weight had been lifted off her, she didn't know how Ilyra would react but she hoped it would be positive.

Excuse her face? Her face?

"At least my face doesn't look like a fairy godfather spunked on it." She spat back at the woman with a scowl, "Why are you even here? I don't know you. Are you even Imperial military?"

The planet they were on might not be Imperial anymore but this bar was still primarily frequented by Imperial military and this function was uniquely Imperial in nature. Taking a deep breath, Ilyra stepped away from Esther and focused on Zarya instead. Of course as soon as she did she deflated slightly.

Ilyra didn't regret much but she regretted that Zarya had been trapped behind those doors with those Mandalorians. They had taken something from Zarya while all Ilyra could do was retreat. She swallowed thickly as Zarya spoke before wrapping her arms around the Zeltron and hugging her close.

"I'm sorry." Ilyra said honestly, almost whispering it into Zarya's ear, "I'm sorry I couldn't... that I... that I wasn't fast enough or strong enough just... I'm sorry."

Ilyra's words were the one's Zarya often used on herself when she failed, blaming things on herself rather the world around her, hearing those words made her feel something she never really felt before, the desire to protect someone, to alleviate their fears and doubts. Is this how it would feel to have a sister? she thought while embracing the young woman in front of her.

"You have nothing to apologise for," she spoke softly pulling away from the hug to look into Ilyra's eyes.

"It was I who made the decision to split up and it was for that mistake that decided the outcome, my mistake, not yours and it is a mistake I paid for and won't repeat again." She paused for a second to think about a way of lightening the mood a bit.

"But if you feel obliged to do anything to say sorry, you can buy me a drink and tell me stories of Quil and you, that's enough for me." She said in a warm tone accompanied by a soft smile.
