Battlefront: Celebrations Info Thread

In the private demo I was at on Thursday, a single player mode was mentioned. "Mission mode" or something like that.

Not quite the same thing as an actual campaign or Galactic Conquest mode. Honestly, I'm fully expecting a Battlefield clone with a Star Wars skin and some little features that make it a bit different ( like Third Person mode ), but it's likely that all sorts of content is being parted out as DLC instead of, y'know, selling a completed product.

I'm about 80% sure a buttload of content was cut due to the whole 'pulling teams from this to fix Battlefield because it was terrible at launch' debacle.

Honestly, I have been waiting for this game since Battlefront II. But if it's like Destiny, no story except for the DLC you must buy to get the story. I will be very annoyed.

OP don't fool people, it is not day one dlc, simply a free dlc that everyone will get when the movies come out.

A week after launch is what it says. The movie comes out in December. Battlefront comes out in November. That's.. not a week, is it?

Actually its a week before the movie comes out, or two weeks if you pre-ordered, being the 8th of December and 1st of December respectively. So players will go two weeks with just the core game, though the DLC is close enough (and clearly in some extent already developed given they're advertising with it) that one can criticise nonetheless.

I never said it was day one DLC. The DLC from Destiny was released a few months after and another one is coming up in which Bungie decided to add their story elements. I just commented saying it's going to be annoying if I have to buy DLC to get a story aspect in this game.

From what I can infer, the Battle of Jakku isn't going to be including any First order/resistance stuff at all. Seems a bit of a wasted opportunity.

This is what I'm expecting of it as well. EA and DICE have burnt me too many times to hope for anything more than a Battlefield 4 reskin with some third-person shooter mechanics tacked on as clunkily and hastily as they can manage.

They'll sell enough copies on hype alone for them to worry about producing a game that sells on actual quality.

I liked galactic conquest. I want it in the new version.

I think it's more like BF3's co-op missions.

Which were buggy. And really only played through once because they were that bland.

Personally, I didn't care for singleplayer battlefront. I just wanted to play against friends. I also don't care about the lack of space battles, because it looks like there will still be Tie fighters and the like in the atmosphere fighting.

Yada yada. Corporations bad. yada EA sucks. etc etc will still play it.

I'm just grateful that we have a new battlefront. If they are capable of producing a superb quality of ground combat, I'm willing to let go of things a few things. The singleplayer produced a lackluster story, and since when has anyone really bothered with DICE's other singleplayer stories? We all know the story of Star Wars. In battlefront, when it's just going from planet to planet, after you win the battle, what is there really to add "We kicked Rebel ass and departed for Tatooine next." There's not really room to add a worthwhile story, that will produce anything memorable.

Had hype for it, saw EA, realized they'll release 400 DLC's priced at $39.99 for one new map or a weapon mod, lost hype, realized it was a new Battlefront, got hype back.

I'll probably buy it anyways so if it really is bad I can have justification for whining about it.

And if it's good then I'll enjoy it.

I will Not a big fan if it be online only like diablo 3 was. Come on, it 2015 and a lot of us still don't have good internet " Like I" or don't want to play online even to play Singleplayer or vs NPC. I play **** out of SWBF2 and never once want online, though I never had x-live so ya.

Another thing, while I like petty games I Hate how video games have higher and higher graphics, Some poeople "Like I" cant play it.

I may buy it but in 5-10 years unless I get internet,New pc/laptop, Money and the other list of games I want..That also if the game good and EA not dum.

I've been saying for a while (elsewhere mind you) that it's just going to be Battlefield 4 with Star Wars skins, using the name Battlefront to generate hype that it will never, ever, live up to. As much as I adored Battlefront one and two I have zero hype nor exceptions for this, especially not after announcing all of what they won't be including.

I just want my Republic Commando 2.
