This thread will serve as the direct OOC thread for the battle at the Magma Caverns during the Sith Invasion of Saleucami.
Battle of Saleucami - Lake of Fire
So far, everything has been agreed upon except for the part about speeders. Per the other OOC thread, it looks like everything up to us. Gaba and I spoke over MSN and agreed upon a single battlefield, with one Galactic Alliance outpost over the entrance to the magma caverns. The battle takes place above ground, and access to the tunnels is the Sith objective.
Our final decision is whether each team will be allowed ten speeder (five speeders per player) to use with each player's fifty units. PMs have been sent and are now awaiting confirmation. We should be good to start as soon as everyone checks in :)
EDIT: I'd like to clarify the details for the speeders I had in mind. Different factions will have different designs and tech, but I'm assuming the they'd be balanced in defense/power/number of seats.

The Gunnery Speeder is used as the primary support vehicle for the Sith Imperium. Most ground battles consist of soldiers of different classes and equipment, tactically coordinating to overcome specific sections of a battlefield with ease. The swiftness of the speeders allow for a fast approach, allowing the manually-operated mounted turret to quickly take out less-armored units while passing by. These constantly moving targets usually circle around a skirmish, closing in their enemies while the Sith infantry moves in, taking advantage of the distraction/surrounding forces.

The Transport Speeder is designed for quick deployment in a ground battle. This military speeder is designed to have reinforced armor plating on its front and sides, remaining only slightly vulnerable from behind. The mounted turret in the back of the speeder has been removed, making room for eight extra passenger seats (four on each side, making up two squads for the entire vehicle), mostly covered by the reinforcing armor. These metal plates reach up to cover the heads and shoulders of its passengers, protecting them from random shooters across the battlefield. the armor of these vehicles is not so intense to brush off the most devastating attacks, but rocket launchers and vehicle collisions would deteriorate its durability. At most, they would be slowed down until enough damage has been dealt. The roof of the speeder is still exposed, and attacks from above would deal more damage than any other approach. These speeders have almost no firepower, having only a soldier in the front passenger seat to fire. Despite this vehicle's lacking of armaments, its strength and increased weight is more than enough momentum to smash through any soldiers that get in its way.
