@Kori Buor @Relent @Shalken

Our Beautiful OOC thread here. Also, just for quick clarification the bombs are there to make that field generator flicker for the landing. Not pound you into the dust. Additionally lots of goons everywhere! Free us up for the traditional duel of the fates on both sides of the coin!

Okay, so, me and Kori were talking and we both have some problems with your latest post Krajin. I'm going to outline it with things pulled directly from it, so we can hopefully minimize misunderstandings and move on from this pretty quickly:

Thankfully these were large, heavy assault craft landing inside an area that was roughly just over 250 meters in total radius in the opening courtyard they had landed in.

You are not landing in a 250 meter courtyard. You are landing on a landing pad, or near one as that is where me and Aethon are sitting as per the OP. You cannot change this fact to suit your needs.

They were built to take punishment from the guns of Starships so rockets on a small scale were of no threat to them unless they hit somewhere incredibly sensitive. Khalen was about to jump out behind a couple of other guys when the first rocket hit. Due to the angle of the craft, the size of the doors and the dust cloud kicked up from their natural landing which provided advantageous cover for both friend and foe alike, thus eliminating the favour of one side or another, caused the rocket to fly in and hit off target.[/color]

Aethon and Aria are using HUD to view the craft, and they both fire at the doors while the doors are open. There’s not really much to miss, as open shuttle doors would be quite large and I think you’re taking unrealistic liberties here given the distance between us and you, and the fact that we saw you coming.

The first rocket flew in and slammed into the door itself as it slid open for them to land being half open when the rocket hit, its explosion, small with a kill zone of about a foot and a half and the rest being fragmentary or explosive in nature to cause injury rather than outright kill with a maximum radius of three feet (One meter) caused the occupants to freak as two soldiers got caught in the explosion. Khalen would immediately through sheer force of reaction rip the door closed with a kinetic tug of the force, causing the side door to slam shut as another much larger rocket peppered the side of the vessel. Most of them connecting on the upper hull or flank of the craft where the sloped armour and thickness of it protected the craft from the majority of the damage. Though the door itself was only a few inches from being closed, shrapnel would spray in as the cluster rocket detonated against the ship. It was far from disabled, but that side was now fused shut. The shrapnel from said rocket getting in would bounce around, Khalen's armour glancing the small shards of hot metal away from harm.
The second rocket would be coming literally seconds after the first one, so the reaction time after the first impact to shut the door would have to be nearly instantaneous. Idk about that, seems kind of fishy to me.

Thankfully the other side provided excellent cover for the people to exit the vehicle without being shot at as XPC-71 particle bolts hit the craft. The walls provided around the fortress were about ten meters up with ramps, stairs and the like leading up there and the craft themselves were about six meters tall to account for all of their own gear. Khalen growled as they'd been interrupted from getting out the front door, now having to get out the opposite side as smoke began to fill the air from the damage caused. He was safe from any protective fire, keeping low so he wasn't spotted and subsequently

rocketeered by the local team rocket with their cluster rockets and wrist launchers. He could see cover ahead of their position through the smoke from the fires that were now burning, Khalen ducked low and crouched down low and with the aide of his repulsor boots launched himself towards a large stack of crates near some windows of the main fortress, rolling to press up against them for cover. Khalen grinned, there was another force sensitive in the zone that he could feel. Their general direction rather than exact position as sensing with the force rarely, if ever provided exact locations unless you were actively sensing and pinpointing. One should also note he'd relaxed his own cover within the force so he was hanging out in the air proverbially and thus able to be sensed.

Since this plays off the idea that you’re in a court yard, none of it really works. There’d be only limited space to depart from the back side shuttle doors and it would put you on the very edge of the landing pad (or falling into a canyon) that we are on with limited cover. I specifically stated Aria was concealing her force aura for a reason, so sensing her in this regard is kind of meta.

He could sense the general direction of this force user and checked his rifle, he peeked out from between the crates in a gab that was at range near impossible to see but for him, big enough to see through and crack a few shots off from. He peered and caught through the smoke a glimpse of at least one of the offenders behind a durasteel crate with an XPC-71 in hand firing off at the craft. He had open cover along the side of the crate and could see her exposed flank and squeezed off two three round bursts from his XPC-71 towards that exposed flank of her side. Aiming for the center of mass rather than going for headshots or anything else creative the spread would be enough to either hit her or the jetpack she wore with a few giving the crate some loving attention.

I’m confused about your positioning; did Khalen shuffle around to the side to see around the crate? Aria is a small woman, you’d have to be almost behind her to see around the crate and shoot her in the flank, especially because she would have been positioned on a perpendicular line to the arrival of your shuttle.

While I’m all for telling a story and taking liberties, you seem to be under the impression that you can completely change or dictate the size and scope of the battlefield we presented. That is not the case. As per our OP’s, we are on a landing platform that you approached with your drop shuttle. Not a 250 meter court yard.

Alright, Will fix. Didn't catch her concealing her force aura. Though if she's concealing it AND sensing that would be a bit fishy as it takes effort to actively conceal your force aura from others. Additionally we never said that they were landing on landing pads. it wasn't stated at all to be fair. Additionally pointing out that there's a 'Big cat man and a jedi' in a very specific transport could be very fishy in tracking it before it lands.

To add, when the doors open you'd expose yourselves to being seen so we'd be able to at least spot the rockets as they come. Especially someone having to angle themselves to fire a Jetpack mounted rocket. Otherwise your trajectory would have allot of issues in terms of being able to track, angle yourself to get the rocket right, fire, then get your gun and start unloading. Since your jetpack rocket fires like a Javelin does, straight up and then down unless you point it in a particular direction. As for the idea of someone managing to force close a door quickly, its doable, a few seconds to slam a door shut is all it takes with the reflexes of a trained force user when they have one rocket fired and another, a few seconds behind being fired. Ya dig?

Landing pads are large, you need to consider that these would land large craft probably to the size of freighters so there'd be room. Plenty of it.

As for me being under the impression I can change things or dictate the size of the battlefield that was presented? When there are few in specifics offered to confer the idea of space in mind on both sides it is not wrong to write it in so both parties know.

So since the details of the sizes of the landing pads were not presented in the opening posts so people do have the free liberty to add to what is not written so there is a clearer picture being painted. You could say we could jump out the back and meet a plummeting death here but it was never stated the size of these platforms so it is all assumption until it is written in. The Devil is within the details. Now I had never stated either where we landed so that is on me understandably.

Like I said though I'll fix. Give me a few.
