As it turned out, Renfry had brought Arla. She'd also brought along a Nightsister nanny. Yes, you heard that right. Not a droid, not a regular nanny, a Nightsister nanny. Fortunately, Descara knew how to stay well out of the way, and stayed in her own private room when called on for babysitting duty.

The resort was on a remote world, far away from the public eye, and in a location where virtually everything could be done in total isolation. It was all on purpose, and should make for a relaxing world. Still, she'd done enough research to make sure there were some things for them to do nearby.

Their two rooms were adjacent and attached with close-able doors, and the rooms were incredibly nice. Renfry had come in and once she finally got Arla somewhat settled into one corner of the room playing with a handful of toys. She leaned forward, absolutely desperate to crawl, but narrowly failing and simply falling forward to which Renfry stifled a laugh.

Arla seemed unperturbed, and grabbed a toy as Renfry continued unpacking and listening for Emryc's arrival in the adjacent room.

Emryc was in a sour mood since the Sith had lost Dantooine. He hadn’t even spoken to Jaikus since he had to discipline the two for their insolence. He was responsible for taking his own fiancee’s arm ultimately, and that wouldn’t leave his thoughts anytime soon. The half Sephi was once again reminded of what it meant to be Sith while his partner was also one. They had discussed this time and time again and it came to fruition. He withdrew almost entirely from Jaikus for now as was his habit when anything got too emotionally complex. His walls were back up and he threw himself into work, coordinating with his Executive Council to beef up his navy and meeting with the new Republic Chancellor.

Emryc barely paid attention to the texts and what he agreed to. It wasn’t until his assistant reminded him that he had some outing scheduled that he gave her a blank stare and remembered he had agreed to this. The half Sephi lazily made his way over, though punctual as always. A droid accompanied him and carried his things. In truth, an escape away sounded nice to keep his mind off all the turmoil in his life.

The half Sephi approached the front door and knocked sharply, dressed in a casual white button down and jeans. His face was blank as usual and he was scrolling through his comlink, a hand in his jean pocket while he waited for Renfry.

Renfry heard the knock on the door, and her eyes went wide, mouth breaking into a girlish grin. She normally would have looked through the peephole, but she didn't need to. She'd recognize that presence anywhere and she threw open the door, immediately throwing her arms around him. Of course her head only came up to about his mid chest.

That smell immediately hit her like coming home. She only paused there for a quick moment.

Sorry, I know how you don't like that, she said, releasing him and stepping back, waving him to come inside.

It's been way too long, I've missed you, she said. It had only taken about five seconds from start to finish, and she noticed that something was off. He was never exactly what she'd call "chipper" but she could tell something else was bothering him. Her immediate instinct was to ask him what was wrong, but she knew better.

We'll get you fixed up. A nice quiet weekend on the beach, plenty of veggie snacks, and a couple of activities I think you might enjoy, she said, closing the door behind him and bringing him over to his room.

He would be able to see Arla in a corner of the room. Rather than happily babbling, he would be able to see that even at her age she seemed to have an almost cold stare with wide eyes that seemed to look at him in a way that was far, far more intuitive that it had any right to be at her age.

And then she grabbed a toy and mashed it against her forehead. It was a mixed bag, really.
