He had set Jaikus up in the outskirts of the village where he had stayed for a year. The village wasn’t so welcoming to outsiders so he had informed Jaikus not to venture in without him. The Axillian, however, would be able to take in sight of the stunning mountains, rivers and valleys that surrounded him on all sides. Being around cities all the time, it would be a shock to his system. Even the air was crisp and different around here.
The last time Emryc had been here, he had the raggedy appearance of a lost and blind fisherman. Today he stepped off the ramp of his ship with neatly cropped hair, the purposeful shadow of his stubble and piercing silver eyes that could see everything in front of him. Even now, the planet felt both unfamiliar and like home. He already spotted the trees he had spent sitting by as he carved a boat. He glanced over at the river where he and Hannibal had coasted before their grand hike.
The half Sephi paused for a long moment to inhale deeply, drinking the sweet scent of the flowers and fruits from the trees and plants. He took a moment to listen to the birds and woodland creatures - a familiar sound that got him through those months of being blind.
After taking his time, Emryc finally made his way towards the cottage where he knew Jaikus would be.
