A man (or Pantoran girl) must assume the moral burden of their own boredom.

Even when it's lame.

Summary
Awande Nombeko is a silver tongued Padawan hopeful stuck with responsibilities she never wanted. A quick thinker, especially on her feet, it's the planning and the forethought that give her pause. Really long pauses, pauses that can be a problem in the thick of things. She's not much of a fighter and prefers talking her way out of any sort of a jam, pickle, snafu or kerfuffle. The Jedi Order isn't exactly where she thought she'd end up, but oh well.

Personality & Traits
Impulsive, charming, overconfident and charismatic. Especially when she wants to be. Awande's in it for thrills and fun; sitting still and being patient are her least favorite activities of all time. She keeps it light and bottles up any of her abandonment or trust issues, all the while going out of her way to make people happy. If she’s nice, they won’t leave. If she’s pleasant, she’ll never be alone again. All the negativeness aside, Awande is, at heart, a good person who puts the needs of others ahead of her own. Most of the time.

Alignment

Neutral good. She puts others before herself, although her reasons (making sure she isn’t left alone again) are somewhat selfish at the core.

Physical Characteristics
Although only as strong as your average seventeen year old girl, Awande makes up for it with dexterity and acrobatics. Thievery gave her fast hands and faster reflexes, a plus when she gets to Jedi-ing. She keeps her hair somewhat short, dying the tips when she feels like it.

Distinguishing Features -

Awande has circular yellow markings on her cheeks, shoulders, and stomach. Her fingers are callused and there's an evil Sith-ey bracelet stuck to her right wrist.

Biography

1006 – Born on Pantora. It was an average sort of birth.
1011 – Identified by her uncle as Force-Sensitive. Awande’s parents kept this from her, not wanting their little girl to be a part of the oncoming storm. Even an idiot could tell, war was coming.
1015 – Her parents realized, a bit too late, that they can’t hide from the world. Even though Pantora is far from the actual conflict, Mr. and Mrs. Nombeko sign up with the Rebellion. Awande is sent to live with her grandmother on Tatooine. She did not approve of the change.
1016 – Grandmothers are boring. Tatooine is boring. Awande starts to hang out more and more with a local swoop gang.
1017 – When simple loitering and vandalism grow dull, she takes up thieving. Just for fun. Nothing serious. Tatooine’s a big ball of dirt, not like there’s anything else to do.
1018 – Things go bad on what was supposed to be an easy, string-less job. Her entire gang is nicked and detained by sector police and all of them, down to a one, pin the blame on her. Curiously enough though, despite all their testimonials, Awande is let free. All she had to do was ask the officer nicely and he cheerfully opened the doors. She realized, for the first time, that her words were a bit more potent than everyone else's.
1019-1020 – In a very boring year, Awande is surprisingly good and well behaved. She talks to her parents for the last time in 1019 ABY, right before they’re deployed to aid in the siege of Manaan.
1021 – Bored out of her skull, Awande tries her hand at swoop racing for the first time. Turns out she's pretty good, and she wins an Akk Dog in her first official competition. She names him Hoju. He bites things a lot.
1022 – When her pod is sabotaged, Awande needs quick cash to fix it up. Stealing, despite everything that happened in the past, seems like the best option. Not like she had a choice either, what with the annual classic approaching and all. Awande accepts what’s supposed to be a simple job – steal an old bracelet from a Sith's tomb on the ice world of Hoth. The woman called it an old family heirloom, and Awande let greed overpower her nagging little 'Sonething's clearly Up' voice.
Everything goes well at first. There was no one there to stop her and not a single evil, Sithey temple guardian in sight. Still, with each and every step she just knew – the place had some seriously bad mojo. She gets to the bracelet easily enough and finds, to her immense irritation, that there's no way to get the dumb thing off once it sticks onto her wrist.
On way back, her vibes turned out to be right. Awande's contact, a shadow-wrapped woman who kept her face forever hidden, was supposed to meet her at a nearby trading post. What she found instead was a ghost town. The woman, whoever she was, had slaughtered an entire village just to make sure no one was around to see their meeting. Ten guesses what would happen to her once she handed it over. It was only through luck that Awande caught sight of the carnage beforehand; luck and a comm-link that some lazy Larry forgot to close out. Awande booked the first flight off Hoth, never making their meeting.
1023 – Whatever it was stuck to her arm, it was something the Sith wanted. Thieving was one thing, Awande was fine with that. Evil, murdering, evil Sith though? Those were a no go. She sold her pod, getting just enough to buy her grandmother safe passage from Tatooine to a nameless, resource-less backwater. No way in a nova the Sith would hunt Nana down there.
Awande had a different destination in mind for herself. If the Sith wanted the bracelet, it stood the Jedi would help her keep it from them. That's the good thing about millenia old rivalries, it's pretty easy to pick a side. And besides, it wasn’t like she didn’t have an in with the Jedi diaspora. Her parents were the exact opposite of stealth; Awande knew she was Force-Sensitive since before her eighth birthday party.
Awande meets a friend of a friend of a friend, a shifty, green-skinned forger named Ferrank Yizmodo. For the not unreasonable price of 600 credits, he sets her off on a rumor hunt for the reclusive Jedi order. A long, irritating, several month long search finally gives her the planet of Naboo. No actual location, no city, no, just a planet where there might be Jedi. Still, it was better than nothing.
Now – After two months on Naboo, Awande finally meets her first Jedi. Ex-Jedi, technically, working as a barman, but still, a Jedi. Best of all, and far more pertinent, he knows where to find the rest of the Order, and brings Awande to their clandestine stronghold.

Skills & Abilities
Awande, like all Pantorans, has a natural resistance to cold climates. Language wise, all she knows are Basic and, maybe, three or four Huttese swear words. She is a skilled pilot and mechanic, so long as the repairs don't involve computers or programming. She's done some work as a swoop racer, and, on the shadier side of shady, is a pretty good pickpocket.

Force -

Has had lessons in the basics such as telekinesis, speed, leap, and sense. Hasn't had a chance to put them in any sort of real world practice yet though. Affect mind is marginally on a subconscious level that she can't really control yet.
Has quite the strong Force-Bond with her pet Akk Dog.

Lightsaber Forms -

Not owning a lightsaber makes learning forms pretty difficult.

Gear and Goods
Awande, being a Padawan, has an expansive, ornate, and storckroom defying horde of personal treasures, including:
One DL-18 Blaster Pistol
A Laser Lockpick for all those pesky safes
One average everyday Comm
And some comfortable, Tatooine style clothes that look pretty dusty out on Naboo.

Awande's Bracelet – a Sith relic, fused to her wrist and impossible to remove. The thing itself is little more than a gold band, although she has the curious sensation it's watching her whenever she looks away. Any attempt to take it off makes it stick to her skin. It's super creepy.

Ship -

None. She's poor, cut her some slack.

Droids -

None.

Pets -

Hoju the Akk Dog. Runt of his litter, only about three meters long and half that in height. He doesn’t like it when she puts on the saddle. Some sort of a Force-Bond between the two, although she doesn’t have enough training to realize why.

First off, not my profile template. All credit goes to Saul.
Okay. Character stuff now - The bracelet is just a MacGuffin I'll use at some point with another character. Part of an arc I've got in mind. It never has, and never will, bolster Awande's stats in any way, shape, or form. Might hinder her at some point though. That's always fun.

Oh. And she's going to fail miserably at the Jedi thing at some point, too. That good old fashioned, monomythic, turn of the second act fall into the abyss sort of predicament. So, yeah. The cocky smartass-itude will take her down sooner or later.

For those of you who care about creative catalysts and the like, Awande is basically different aspects of the the following characters mashed together: Toph Bei Fong, Louise Belcher, Donna Meagle, Liara T'Soni, Toofer Spurlock, Shelby, the worm who lives in Jake's Viola, Lisa Simpson (1-roundabouts 10.), Robert Barone, Burton Guster AKA Gus T.T Showbiz, Brett Bunsen and Ahsoka Tano. I'm not telling you the specific aspects, though. That's one of them fancy pants mysteries.

STRENGTHS:
+Fast hands.
+Faster tongue.

There was a point, halfway through, where I realized the connotations. Then I got lazy and said to myself, nuts to clarification.
That being said, for the record - I meant those in the non-sexual colloquial saying sort of way, haha.

And it took me exactly two and a half minutes to figure out the woman in your GIF was Donna Pinciotti, once upon a time.

Haha, I promise that you don't need to clarify anything. I'm just really immature. She looks good, though!

The .gif is from Orange Is The New Black. tl;dr Donna is a criminal and a lesbian and a snarky jerk.

OK, I like her! Just a couple o' questions:

1. What actually is the bracelet.
2. If it were that easy to find the Jedi, the Sith would have us by now. I think this part could use a little editing perhaps?

Aside from those couple of small hang ups, it's a good profile, and I am happy accepting her. Please PM me when you've made the changes, or if you have anything you'd like to discuss.

Thanks. :)
