Rebel Base, Naboo
It hadn't been easily, but they had finally done it. Starting with that venture into Coruscant's underbelly with Grey and getting Aurora and the rebel leadership on board, it had been a few months of dedicated effort on the part of many to bring them to where they were today. But they had done it. They had found Naboo, they had stumbled into the rather quirky Gungans, earned their trust, and finally built a small base on a planet whose secrecy offered almost unmatched security to the rebels who now called it home. It was truly more than anything she could have hoped for.

It had been a few weeks since the base had reached a state where it could be considered habitable and operational, and the Gungans had been very excited by the timing of it all. For today was an auspicious day, a day of celebration among the gungans, and they had brought the party to the rebel base, the small village they had started calling Theed.

As if by fate, rebels and Jedi alike had shown up at the base at the same time, drawn in by the rumors of the discovery of a new planet. Maybe the gungans were right and it really was an auspicious day. Whatever the reason, Alys was just glad to see so many faces at the base, she finally felt like she was really contributing to the rebellion, helping in whatever small way she could to wash away her family's dark legacy.

Watching gungans, rebels, and Jedi mingling, drinking, and even dancing to the weirdly upbeat gungan music, she couldn't help but feel happy and join in in the celebrations. Wondering whose drinks she could spike this time around.

To say the least, Leah was surprised.

She had not expected a Jedi student and wayward rebel to lead an operation so effectively. Let alone consider the idea of exploring an uncharted world and establishing a base of operations. When the Jedi Master first heard the idea, she thought it laughable. Now? She was glad she was wrong. The Galactic Alliance had a foothold in many worlds across the galaxy, but what Alsyanne had done was the first. The Imperial Republica and the Old Empire knew nothing about Naboo, or so the planet was called. Unless there was a spy embedded in the Alliance, they could not possibly discover the hidden rebel base. How could they uncover rebels on a planet they never knew existed? It was brilliant.

Laughter was shared. Drinks clinked together. The strange species referred to as the gungans likewise joined in the celebrations, singing and dancing to their music. While Leah was initially skeptical of the native inhabitants, she now found them to be friendly, welcoming, and rather dim-witted. They were no threat to the Alliance. Even if she thought one or two of them to be a little irritating, but it was nothing she couldn’t handle. The Jedi dealt with aggravating friends and strangers on a daily basis. For instance: Greybok. But that was a story for another time. Her only real focus was on the young woman watching the ongoing party, quiet and alone.

Alysanne.” She said once the rebel ambassador came close enough. Her fingers were wrapped around a drink but she kept it close to her chest. Leah may not have known about whatever plots were floating in the girl’s head, but she was naturally paranoid enough that she didn’t have to. “I have to admit, but you did good. I’m sure Aurora is proud.” She glanced away to the crowd in search of the other Jedi Master. The other woman was surely out there, although Leah didn’t bother to press the search. She was just happy to see the end of another successful rebel operation.

Aurelian was glad to be back on the planet, he’d not been back here since the talks where concluded and he’d left the world on other business. Thankfully this time he had a lot more freedom. Aurelian and Ner’Giza had been the first two Rebels to make contact with the Gungans. They’d tracked down a farmer which had lead them to a Gungan Commander from their warriors and then, lastly, they had been brought to the High Council of their City, or a City, he still wasn't’ completely sure on that point. Their mission had been successful and they’d been allowed to transmit a time and place for the true negotiators to come and begin the talks proper.

There had been only one stipulation by the Gungan Leadership. Aurelian and Nera had to stay as “guests” in their City until the talks finished. They had promised that if the talks went poorly they’d still be released but the Gungans could be a suspicious, even savage, peoples so that wasn’t an avenue either Rebel had been eager to test. Luckily it hadn’t turned out that way. Aurelian and Nera had both been escorted back to their shuttles and they’d left Naboo for a time.

They’d also both flown back here together a few days ago for the celebrations.

Aurelian had got ready first and so had left their quarters after telling his Twi’lek friend to catch up. Cleaned up and dressed in plain robes he was thankful not to have to carry any weapons for once. Milling around he picked up a glass of some sort of clear liquid while making small talk with the various attendees, rebels and gungans alike. One good thing had come of his time stuck in the City as what amounted to being a hostage was that he’d managed to learn Gunganese, well enough to get by anyway.

Seeing a familiar face Aurelian approached Alys. When he’d first come to Naboo she’d been a stranger handing out an exciting and unique mission. Now he knew her much better, for one she was a fellow member of Star Squadron. That wasn’t all that had changed. When he first came here Aurelian had been a scholar with some vague knowledge of the Jedi still existing but now he was a Padawan under Jedi Master Aurora Blackwood. What a difference a few months, even weeks, could make.

Reaching the younger woman he paused to nod respecting at Leah. “Mistress Reach.” he greeted. He hadn’t spoken to the woman much and in truth the little he'd seen of her left Aurelian feeling a little intimidated by her.

He then turned his attention to the younger woman (a Drast of all things! He had to get alone sometime to see if she’d spill the story). ”Congratulations Alys. This has all went quite wonderfully!” he said with a warm smile and with feeling, he was exceptionally impressed by all of this. A newly discovered world, a newly contacted race! How awe inspiring it all way. Raising a glass in her direction he chuckled softly. ”To you my young friend.” Usually Aurelian could be far more formal, or as some might see it... stiff but once he got to know someone he found it much easier to loosen up. Alcohol helped.

Taking a sip of his drink he paused for a moment to appreciate the flavour, it appeared to be a gin of some sort. Glancing around he tried to see if his friend was around. “Nera should be around here somewhere too.”

Arda's disappointment in getting a Zalaaca on her own seemed to quickly disappear when her and the other rebel, Evalyn had returned with the one. The girl felt bad, but as the Gungans accepted the Rebels into their home, celebration quickly followed doubts diminished, and Arda had not seen such celebrations since before leaving her homeworld. Corellia had its holidays for the Emperor but it was never the same and as she got involved with the festivities, she was elated with feelings of joy and to an extent, it was relaxing, to not have to worry if her next step would be into the hands of the Imperials.

The girl had joined in with the dances by the gungans, drums and horns played new notes and the speed of the beats worked up the girl as she danced with and around the gungans who participated; at some point, she had acquired a garland of various fern leaves and small flowering buds that smelled terrible like a swamp, but she may had enough liquor created by the amphibian-like species that she wasn't going to feel anything for a few nights. The hangover was going to be terrible, but Arda was unaware until that time came and Master Aurora would probably make her train through it.

The beat of the song changed and Arda danced her way out of the circle, taking more effort to walk normal than to just dance her way out, however, she made her way over to where some gungans were roasting all sorts of creatures. As odd as they were, it did smell good, and she was handed a stick with some sort of fish on it, "C'est bon!" she hummed as she had a nibble, but in fact, it tasted terrible and Arda felt herself suddenly sober somewhat as she tried to inch her way to toss out the food.

Alys was watching the revelries with a content smile on her face when she heard someone call her name, and turned to find herself facing Leah Reach, the third Jedi Master she had met. Unconsciously shifting to be standing in a more respectful manner, a result of the protocols and etiquette training she was forced to sit through as a child. "Master Reach!" She blushed a little at hearing the Jedi Master's words, trying to suppress the smile that tried to break from her lips. "Thank you. But I didn't do much, they did everything." She gestured towards the revelers, a slight smile appearing on her face again as she saw how much fun everyone seemed to be having. "I just happened to have gotten lucky and been on Korriban at the right time to stumbled upon the right book to.." She paused as she realized that she had let her words get away from her again and spoken more than she should have. "I hope she is," she said instead, in response to Leah's comment about Aurora, before continuing a little more tentatively, "She told you about me, didn't she? About who I am, where I came from?"

However the conversation went, when Aurelian ultimately joined them she was glad for some more company. Being in the company of Jedi Masters was still too new and too novel an experience for her to not begin getting a little nervous. Aurelian's warm greeting though did put her at ease, and she let out a happy laugh as he raised his glass towards her. "As I was just telling Master Reach, I did nothing. You and Nera were the first ones to land here, this is as much your victory as anyone's!" She wished she had a glass so she could raise a toast to her friend, but empty handed as she was, her words would have to do.

Mig had not really helped with capturing the planet. He knew that. All he had done was some mechanical prep and a bit of flying over as a base was established. That said, he went to the party because there were friends there. Maybe even new friends to meet. These Gungans were strange, but somehow they seemed to get along great with Mig. They would make great friends. He wondered if he should recruit some to help out with his work or join Star Squadron. He loved those weird guys. The food here was weird but Mig also found it fun to eat.

"Hello! I am Mig!" He would say to each Gungan he met. "Do you want to be my friend?"

The Gotal would be carrying a drink of some sort of goo. A local treat of some kind. It was disgusting. Mig loved it anyways. This party seemed fun and he wondered if he would recognize anyone here. The Alliance seemed so large yet so small sometimes. At least Alys was here. Mig knew her. She seemed busy though so Mig went to find more Gungans.

The Twi’lek laughed as she bowed her head to receive the wreath of swamp flowers that Fersuw Wetha placed over her head. As the very first Gungan that Ner’Giza and Aurelian had ever met, she made a point of hunting her up. Although her comprehension of the Gungan language was not as swift to grow as Aurel’s had been, she too had picked up a passable vocabulary which naturally consisted of all manner of food items. The female shepherdess laughed after delivering a string of words that Ner’Giza now understood to mean bad fruits, then shoved a drink of strong spirits into her hand.

The whole thing had been a terrible misunderstanding over the offering of a prized fermented fruit she had picked up on Anoat. Being the practice of her people to present gifts upon making a visit, it had been taken as an insult and herself branded a Vendor of Bad Fruits. It had all been cleared up now and the two women could laugh about it. That is until the Gungan set eyes upon Commander Nalskel Tarlaps. The look hardly needed a translator, Ner’Giza picking up on it immediately. She nudged the woman and then gestured toward the tall male with a nod of her head, and a huge grin upon her face. Fersuw’s face turned colors and she actually drew her ears forward to cover her face.

Laughing, Ner’Giza gave her a shove toward the commander but she would not be budged. Instead she drew her arm out and pointed over toward Aurelian then gave her a shove. It was a bit of a hard time trying to explain that she and Aurel were not like that, but the woman was having nothing of it until finally she gave in agreeing to go speak to Aurel if Fersuw approached Nalskel. It was just easier in the long wrong then hunting for a protocol droid to clear up the misunderstanding. After their mission she didn’t know where MR4-DX8 had been reassigned anyway.

Fersuw gave Ner’Giza another garland and then pushed her off to go claim her man, she supposed. All in the interests of growing relations! Finding him with Aly and Mistress Reach she glanced back to her co-conspirator among the Gungan. Both women were waiting for the other to make the first move before daring one of their own. Once a break in the conversation occurred, she greeted everyone there. ”Hello Mistress Reach, Alysanne. It’s great to be back here. Amazing how well things came together.” It was true despite the rough collection of tents and hunts. More valuable than any ornate dwellings could be, the base was secret on an unknown world.

Conscious of Miss Wetha’s critical gaze, she turned to address her partner. ”I come bearing tokens of love Aurel.”, she said holding the flowers up in the air ready to place over his head. ”I’m not sure but it might mean we’re mated for life now.”, she said accompanied by a flick of her lekku in the direction of Fersuw.

Aurelian shook his head at Alys humility. This was all thanks to her, they had merely delivered the results that she had planned for and asked of them. The man noticed her lack of drink but for all her successes he was fairly certain she was only about 16 and where he came from that didn’t make her old enough to drink. Strange to think of all the laws they broke every day as Rebels against the Empire and yet that one felt like it should remain in place.

Hearing a familiar voice he turned to smile at his friend. “Quite so. I was just remarking on how well everything has progressed.” he commented with a smile.

Glancing up at the flowers Nera held above his head he cast a suspicious glance over her shoulder at the pink Gungan who he recognised as Fersuw Wetha. Raising a hand he waved in her direction which caused the herder to wave back shyly. Turning his attention back to the Twi’lek he raised an eyebrow at her words and the flick of her lekku. For some reason it seemed this was important to the pleasant female Gungan that they’d first met when arriving on Gungan.

Sighing he reached up and guided the lei of flowers so that it rested around his neck. “Uncle will be so please. Either that or he’ll shoot me.” he remarked dryly with a roll of his eyes. Technically Taln’erca was his adoptive Father but he’d never addressed the man as such beyond the initial adoption ceremony.

“I’ll go get you a drink and catch up with you at the bar.” he told his friend with a chuckle.

Looking back he flashed a smile at Alys. “I won’t take up anymore of your time, I’m sure there’ll be plenty more people wishing to speak with you. I’ll chat with you later.” he paused to nod to Leah before departing the group.

Weaving through the crowds he sipped at his glass until it was finished.

Finding a small makeshift bar he flagged down the bartender. ” I’ll have a Twi'lek izzy-mold, a Bespin Breeze and four shots of Mon Cala Vodka please.”

Once the drinks arrived he thanked the bartender and turned to lean with his back to the bar with Bespin Breeze in hand while waiting for his prankster of a friend to make her way over. As he did so Aurelian would throw a greeting or two at rebels and Gungans alike as they passed. Everyone was cheerful, everyone was happy and for at least today it looked like the Rebels could enjoy having no worries.

“I wonder if any of the others from the Squadron will show up.” he murmured. Aurelian had heard a rumour that the Star Squadron might be based out of Naboo in the future, although he wondered if it was just from here or if they’d split there time between this place and Star Base on Hoth. Or maybe it was all a load of nonsense. Hard to tell with rumours.

A single hand reached out from beneath the fuselage of one of the parked star fighters that had been positioned on the outskirts of the grounds that had been set up for the celebrations of the newly anointed allegiance between the Galactic Alliance and the until recently unknown race known as the Gungan's. The errant hand reaching out for a plate that had sat on the floor beside the fighter, fingers wrapping around the nearest morsel of food before retreating back out of sight.

Beneath the fuselage of the star fighter a fiery haired teen, took a brief break from carrying out the post flight inspection of the fighter to have a quick snack. Although she had been in attendance of the celebrations initially, the teen had still found herself shying away from social interactions. Particularly around the rest of the squadron, not that it out of dislike for her fellow members. But more over the recent loss of her father, Eisa was still coming to terms with the grief of watching the brutal execution being broad cast across the entire galaxy for all to see. She had found that keeping to her duties and busying herself was enough to help her cope for the time being, despite it potentially looking like the teen had been grounded and confined to duties and not part of the celebrations, the additional work she was carrying out, was almost therapeutic.

As she finished off the last few mouthfuls, the fiery haired teen reached over for her hydro spanner before feeding it into the opened aperture in the ships hull. The ratcheting sound echoing out from the inner workings of the ship started off initially with a purpose before gradually becoming in tune with the rhythm of the Gungan music that was echoing out from the celebrations that were close by. She had to give the strange new music it's due, although it was initially grating to the teen's tastes at first, it had started to grow on her, the light waggling of her feet as she worked being a dead give away.

Setting the hydro spanner down, Eisa twisted her head upwards so she could look out from underneath the fighter, her emerald hued gaze scanning over movement of the those in attendance. Though more accurately it was perhaps their lower halves of their legs that she could see, it was not as if she she had much of a vantage point to people watch. Perhaps once she had finished carrying out the ship's post flight inspection, the fiery haired teen may emerge and take a wander about.

Truth to be told, Dev expected that negotiations with Gungans will be harder and longer. The language barrier, cultural difference, probably even the biology were major factors worth to consider and one of which could ruin whole diplomacy mission. Thanks to Kyrrex experience and the assistance of a droid translator, Dev and Sharlon were able to finish their task. And since the Kyrrex's criminal activity on Nar Shaddaa, the negotiations was the first mission when the feeling of responsibility has overwhelmed him and little time later his fur was disheveled due to the tension of the chance of failure. He was working for the Galactic Alliance and can't be even compared with the gang where he was in past on Nar Shaddaa. Dev feeling like everything he doing now has matter for the entire Galaxy. It was a bright example, like specimen like him, which usually considered an animal dealer, can do something significant.

However, Kyrrex has been thinking over the fact, that he needs more skills and experience for the upcoming mission. In the past missions, he figured, that his role as of a thief was miserable and redundant. He simply has nothing to steal. Same was about his trapper skills. That is why he came at the feast on Theed. He knew, that people there will be getting fun and enjoying drinks, and talks, no one would have a desire to talk about something related to the typical GA activity. But if Dev might turn it into a cozy conversation, it could work. He really needed it. And his choice was a girl which was working with a starfighter. Even though Dev has been piloting a ship for a while in his past, his pilot capabilities were his weak point. Maybe if he becomes an apprentice of a mechanic or pilot, it... can help him.

"Ahem. Hello there? Can we talk? I don't bite.". Asked the Amaran approaching and observing the ship with a friendly tone. He had known someone was inside by the sounds coming from inside of the ship with a hope of a good talk.

She laughed as Aurel put the flowers over his head saying, ”Well what uncle don’t know, won’t get you shot.” She cast her eyes back to Fersuw Wetha and grinned brightly seeing her make her move to speak with Nalskel Tarlaps. It was a day for celebrations and like her partner she too would excuse herself from Aly and Reach, ”Ladies” she said with a nod of her head and grinned before joining Aurel at the bar.

She didn’t even have to ask, spotting the Izzy-mold on the bar, and picked up the drink as she took a seat. ”You know…”, she said pausing to sip at her drink, ”I always wondered how Fersuw was able to get in touch with Nalskel so easily so far out from Otah Gunga that day.” She’d give a nod to the two conversing on the other side of the crowd. They had since learned of the underwater caverns and tunnel systems through out the lake region. Some were rumored to completely cut through the core of the planet, which was a rather daunting concept to the Twi’lek who had a marked fear of drowning.

Knocking back one of the shoots he shook his head and turned just as Ner’Giza reached him. Pushing two of the vodka shot glasses in her direction he nodded towards her. Taking the last shot glass he swallowed the vodka and grimaced slightly at the burning sensation. It was nice but two shots of vodka that swiftly in a row at this time of the day was a bit much like Aurelian. Picking up his Bespin Breeze he sipped at and smiled, it was a gentler drink on the throat.

Listening to his companion he looked out towards the Gungans with a smile. “I assume she swam as quickly as her long Gungan limbs would allow. Got into the city and screamed “Help! Help! Short little alien invaders!” or something to that effect.” he said with a smirk although his amused expression faded as he sighed “I hope she’s careful.” he murmured.

The Herd had approached the Commander and Aurelian shook his head slightly. “They are off completely different castes. In many societies someone from a agricultural background approaching a warrior would be met with… unpleasantness. After all that time spent in the City we still know so little about how their society operates.” he said with a shake of his head. “Oh well.”

Sipping on his drink he glanced at Nera with a smirk. “Maybe we’ll take a little holiday here when we’ve some free time. You can finally get around to learning how to swim.” he chuckled raising a hand and ordering a second Breeze.

Furrowing her brow as she heard someone speak out, the fiery haired teen paused in her maintenance work for a moment as she tried to figure out whether there was a group that had splintered off from the party and were lingering around the fighters. Casting a scanning gaze over her immediate surroundings from the underside of the ship before falling upon a pair of legs standing off to the side. A curious eyebrow crossed the young girls features as set her hydrospanner off to the side.

"You talking to me?" Eisa responded, her tone carrying a confused and bemused air to her words. Setting her tolls down to the side, the teen eased out the body trolly head first out from beneath the star fighter, her features marred with thick patches of grease and dirt
Yet despite the grime covered facial features the teens bright emerald hued gaze seemed to cut though all that as her eyes focused on an Amaran standing near the ship.

For a brief moment the teen's gaze looked up and caried out a quick double check to make sure that it was her that the Fox like creature was addressing. Yet much to her surprise and to an extent chagrin, it seemed that this unknown person was addressing her. Though given the unfamiliarity of the individual, he clearly wast one of the Rebels or members of star squadron that she was familiar with. Which confused her all the more, either he were some passer by who just happened to want to strike up a conversation, or there was some alternative reason as to why she had been approached. Kriff if it was another person to pass on their condolences and ask how she was coping with the loss of her father, then she felt deep down as if she would scream.

Not that she was ungrateful to the fact that so many were showing that they cared to the teen, it was far the opposite, it was reassuring to know there was support around her. But having so recently endured such a heart wrenching blow, it felt like hot pokers were getting jabbed onto her everytime the subject got brought up.
Though here was to hoping that whomever this stranger was, he was ignorant to the teen's grieving. "Guessing it must be me, no one else here" the teen commented as she turned her upward gaze onto the Amaran, before placing a hand over her forehead to shield her eyes. "Got something that needs fixing?" she added .figuring that the most logical reason someone would approach a mechanic whilst they were working. That or they were bored!

Karacaldra Von Kedisy had no real idea of what to expect when her ship had first landed on the world. What she had heard of the Galactic Alliance, from the Togorians military reports and the propaganda that would occasionally filter out, gave an impression of either a desperate cabal of violent extremists, or a well organized and highly disciplined band of criminals and military expats.

She was of the Former, or liked to think of herself as such at least. But she somewhat hoped for the later as well. The desperate could be directed, molded, and pointed into a direction. It would give the hope that they would strike hard at the Sith, and put her swirling emotions to good use. With that in mind, she had set forth to make contact with the GA, doing so shortly after her leaving her planets military service. And now after being shadowed around and shuffled between contacts, she had been told of a newly discovered planet, away from Sith eyes.

A base of operations hidden so well that they would be virtually undetectable. What a brilliant plan! The Togorian expected to find a well oiled machine of military might, or perhaps a training facility of some sort. Maybe even a war camp to turn the locals into a fighting force to unleash against the Empire.

Karacaldra had all of these previous ideas as her freighter set down near where the others ships had been parked out in the open. She wondered, briefly, how confident the Galactic Alliance could be, to park their vehicles so noticeably out in the open. She inspected her uniform, its crisp white color matching her fur, and her dark colored ears pressed against her head, framing the black cap she wore. Her blue eyes were hard, cold, and ready for the toughened band she'd have to meet outside. She took with her the basics, her Blaster Pistol and her Vibrosword. After all, she didn't want to seem like too much of a threat on a first impression.

The torgorian waited as the ramp dropped, ducking her head as she exited the ship as the light blinded her for a few moments, raising a hand to block it as her tail flicked back and forth in agitation. She approached what seemed to be the main location of what seemed to be a makeshift town. This was it, the moment of truth.

She arrived, and could not help but blink in surprise at the current sight. It was a festival of some kind, or at least she assumed it such. The locals were gathered in large numbers, but they weren't training. They were...celebrating. Her blue eyes looked around, everyone seemed to be celebrating. Drinks were in hand, people mingled and talked, no one seemed to be pulling rank, and she even saw a few robed individuals milling around, eyeing them with suspicion as she stayed on the outskirts of this large group.

She stalked along the outer rim of the festivities, unsure of what exactly to make of this. They all seemed so...happy. They seemed content. They didn't seem like what was was expecting at all. She eventually found her way towards what appeared to be a table of food and drinks. It appeared eatable, picking up and looking at a cup of some sorts as she examined its thick contents. It had the consistency of Goo, and a simple sniff made her fur stand on end, her ears folding back even more and her face scrunching in disgust as she went to set it down.

Who in their right mind could partake in such a foul concoction? She didn't know, and she was hesitant to find out. With everyone else relaxing, Karacaldra seemed to tense up more then ever, as if expecting something to happen.

Nera eyeballed the shots as Aurel pushed them in her direction. Shrugging lightly she picked up one shot and knocked it back just as Aurel cracked wise and nearly choked. Swallowing while you tried to laugh was not the best combination, let alone that drink be vodka. Her eyes watering a bit, she wiped at her nose then turned to spy on the two Gungan.

Frowning, she grabbed up the second shot and drank it with a bit more delicacy involved before picking up her Izzy-mold. Sometimes her partner’s education could be a bit depressing, such as in this case. Wishing young Fersuw luck, her attention became diverted by mention of swimming lessons. Her eyes darted to Aurel and she missed the outcome of the native drama and whatever implications that may have upon the social order of these people.

She began to hem and haw around, ”Oh well I imagine it will be quite a while before we can just run off on vacation.” It certainly occurred to her that with the setting up of a base they might not have to wait for a ‘vacation’ per say. Perhaps he wouldn’t make that obvious connection. She sipped her drink and let her eyes look anywhere but as his face. Maybe he had enough in him to just let that one slide?
