COMPOSITION AND APPEARANCE:
An intimidating figure that towers at a height of 6 feet, 7 inches. This Chagrian has covered his entire body with red and black tattoos, along with his foot-and-a-half long horns and his eyes that burn the color of sulfur yellow. All of this makes his appearance nearly demonic to those who catch only a passing glimpse of him. A heavily muscled body is concealed under his dark ropes, which in turn are worn under his personal light battle armor.
PERSONALITY:
Calm, manipulative, intimidating. These are words that best describe Arsen Tane for he is rarely anything besides calm. Even when dueling his rage is not out of control, but rather cold and focused fully against his foe. He twists the truth, always acting for his own self-interest, always trying to find how he can best benefit from a situation. When words fail he doesn’t not hesitate to use blunt force to achieve his ends.
LIKES AND DISLIKES:
He despises Jedi. Seeing them as weak and foolish in their beliefs, believing the light is empty and devoid of any real use or meaning. The “diplomacy” of the Republic he views as an absence of order and reason for it must be the strong who rule. Not weak corrupt politicians who cower behind their wealth and positions.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
A master of lightsaber combat coupled with his skill of manipulation make him a dangerous foe. He is not quick to anger, but when driven into a fury he loses a sense of thought and strategy. Making him easy to outsmart and out maneuver. His power of the power is mostly geared toward enhancing his physical abilities. This puts him at a disadvantage when fighting those who have mastered powerful Force moves.
HISTORY:
Arsen Tane was born and raised on the Chagrian homeworld of Champala. His youth and upbringing was normal until the age of sixteen when he traveled off-world for the first time. Arriving on Coruscant he and his family were threatened by a mugger. The breaking of law was something that never occurred in Chagrian society and that enraged Arsen. Unconsciously tapping into the Force Arsen smashed the mugger into a wall via Force Push. The sudden intense use of the Force sent a ripple through the Force that was felt by a group of Jedi returning to the Jedi Temple.
Investigating the source they discovered Arsen, his family, and the dazed mugger. The mugger they arrested on the spot and escorted him along with the Tane family to the nearest law enforcement station. While his parents gave a detailed report to the authorities he was approached by the Jedi. Who asked him to tell them what he did to the mugger. Arsen described the best he could. Told them it had just happened, like someone just screamed in his head what to do.
The Jedi explained to him that it was the Force that had acted through him and if he and his parents agreed he could be trained as a Jedi and use the Force for good. His parents were not really sure how to react to the offer, but after repeated pleas from Arsen they allowed him to be taken for training. Arsen became one of three Padawans being trained by Jedi Master Ivar Keaton. He quickly surpassed his peers in lightsaber combat and took up the more offensive form of duel Jar'Kai. However, throughout his training something he noticed was that he never reached the level of power that he first wielded against the mugger. He wondered if greater power could be tapped by drawing on his emotions instead of the emotionless calmness taught by the Jedi.
He decided to test just how power he was when he relayed on his emotions. At first he carried out his experiments in secret, slowly testing the power at his disposal. Overtime he became convinced that his way was stronger, better than the teachings of the Jedi. He tried to persuade his master of this, but the discussion turned into a heated argument and escalated into a violent lightsaber duel in which Arsen killed his Jedi Master. Arsen left the Order soon after, disappearing into unknown space.
Arsen would re-emerge on Corellia. Where he had heard a dark side cult was located. Wishing to see how powerful the dark side cultists were and if there was anything to gain from them he traveled to Corellia. When he arrived on planet he found the cultist engaged against a secret order of force users. Watching the street battle from the building tops he was conflicted by the secret order's leader. In the pitch black the two sparred verbally over their opposing views before Arsen realized the man would not be swayed and departed.
Arsen next appeared on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk where he immediately entered into a lightsaber duel with Jedi Master and Council member Dewbecca. During the duel Arsen was attacked in a burst of anger by James Eran Zaer. Recognizing the potential of the young man, Arsen broke off from the duel and offered to train James in the ways of the Dark Side. James accepted his offer and they left Kashyyyk soon after.
He taught James some basic dark side techniques before leaving his pupil to fend for himself. The Force pulled him toward Jedi in the dark alley of a world who's name was beneath his memory, before he could confront them, they vanished and he continued on his way. The Force summoning him to Dolomar, an empty world. It was here he encountered a large group of Force-users. He presented his views and beliefs to them, which appealed to many of them. He was not given the chance to teach them however, as the Force called him else where.
He met some untrained Force users on Duro. While not keen on taking on any pupils. He did pass on some words of enlightment to them before departing. Currectly he is on Empress Tela inside the capital of Cinnagar, again revealing the truth to those wise enough to listen.
