The day was finally here. It all began with some severe pains and other symptoms that meant she was finally about to be done with her long and miserable pregnancy. Andraste wasn’t someone that felt helpless often, but this ranked at the very top. She found herself doubled over, horrified and calling for her aides to immediately take her to a medical bay.

Everything from that point on was a blur of motions, and she couldn’t deny that fear crept into her. Word had been sent to Siris almost at once despite her not expecting him to make it in time. Her baby decided to show up a bit earlier than scheduled and she realized that she was about to become a mother sooner than anticipated. She always had these visions of the day of and the clothing she’d be wearing. All of that went out the window as she had been talking to some Sith warrior clan leaders and suddenly doubled over in the middle of it. Embarrassing didn’t even begin to describe her ordeal thus far.

After struggling for hours, it became clear that she’d have to go into surgery. From that point on, she was out cold. The nurses were doting on the new baby, guessing at names and marveling over the eyes. Andraste was oblivious to all this and she was blissfully resting from the ordeal. It would be a little bit before she came to and met her son and the first prince of the Sith Empire.

When Siris received the message that Alais' water broke and she was about to give birth he rushed to the nearest ship he could find a fly straight to Korriban. Anger flashed through him for a moment, knowing the distance between them would take a while to cross. Deep down Siris knew it was most likely he wasn't going to be there for her actually having birth and it pained him not to be by her side during it but the flew the ship as fast as he could to reach Korriban. It started to hit Siris in waves, barely starting to grasp that it was finally happening, he felt his heart start beating faster and faster as it started to hit him. He was really going to be a father this day and that was a shock to his system.

When he arrived at Korriban and rumbled through the atmosphere and breaking through, he checked the coordinates once more before flying straight to the hospital where Alais was at. Even though he could barely understand the idea of him finally becoming a father, it was as him new feelings swept through him, urging him to the mother his child and their son. Landing abruptly at the front of the hospital, he hopped out as guards rushed over with their weapons in hand with Empress of the empire inside the building. But they immediately recognized who Siris was and they stood down, parting ways and letting him pass as Siris paid no heed to them and rushed inside. Nobody would stand in his way to reach his family and if they did he would be ready to kill right there.

Arriving inside the main lobby, he came to an abrupt halt before reaching out with his senses, locating Alais easily through the walls of the hospital as attendants rushed over him and tried to offer information about his wife and the state she was in. Siris just shoved them out of his way just wanting to see her, jogging through the halls before finding the stairs and practically barging through the door and using the force to assist him as he sped up to them and passed guards along the way with surprised looks. It only took him a few moments before reaching Alais' floor, pushing the door open and staring in the direction of her.

That's when he felt the second signature next to his wife and it nearly made him step back feeling it separate from her. Siris didn't hesitate a moment longer, practically sprinting towards her room as he passed more surprised observers. When he reached her room, he immediately slowed down his approach and quieted his actions not to disturb the baby. He opened the door softly before stepping through, finding the nurses cradling his child and Alais knocked out in the bed from the procedure. Siris slowly brought his gaze to the nurses, his heart already thumping in his chest from seeing Alais again but also hearing the soft crying of the baby, the realization of it now fully hit him. Siris started to walk forward towards the nurses, ignoring them completely as he could only look at his and Alais' son.

It was a moment before Andraste finally came to. By the time she was awake, the nurses had left, and she could make out a tall outline and a familiar signature. She managed a faint smile, “I didn’t think you’d make it,” Andraste was still a bit loopy from being knocked out, and she was still sore from the ordeal.

“Let me see him,” She requested softly, asking Siris to bring over their son. Andraste slowly moved to sit up, wincing through the pain. As soon as Siris came over, she glanced down at their baby for the first time. Andraste could do nothing but stare for a while, slowly taking him into her arms and gazing down at the little face for the first time. Wherever Alais was buried shot straight to the top, breaking past Andraste as tears began to brim her eyes, “Look at him…” She whispered softly, “Look how perfect he is..”

Andraste glanced up at Siris, reaching a hand over to pull him close. She held her son tightly to her chest, the baby sound asleep. As Siris drew closer, he curled a tiny hand around one of his fingers. Andraste couldn’t look away from the baby, “We’re parents, Siris,” She said it out loud for the first time, still having trouble grasping the concept. Andraste gazed up at him again, “What do you want to name him? Our new prince?”

The nurse holding their baby walked forward to him, the baby had fallen asleep in the matter of a few seconds once silence filled the room. He was wrapped in a towel and Siris could only stare at his child in amazement before the nurse offered him to him to Siris, "Here you go, sir." Siris didn't say anything to her before reaching forward and sliding his arms and drawing the baby in towards him. He scoffed slightly at the sight, the baby resting his head against Siris' arm and using it as a pillow to sleep soundly. The rest of the nurses left without a word, letting the Empress and Lord have their privacy.

Siris started rocking the baby slightly,
"Hey, little one." He whispered softly, not wanting to disturb him as he could only smile as the baby was still asleep. That's when he heard Alais, causing him to look up at her with a full-fledged smile on his face, "I wouldn't miss this for the world." She seemed ready to pass out again and Siris bet that the whole procedure took everything out of her to complete. When she asked to see him, Siris made his way over to the side of the hospital bed and sat on the edge of it. He turned over before handing the baby over to her, letting Alais have her own moment of looking at him.

Siris spot the tears coming and he leaned down while pulling her head closer to him as he kissed the top of it, "He is perfect." Siris wrapped an arm around her shoulders before pulling her in tighter against him as he stared down at the baby as well. "You did well, I'm proud of you." Siris gave her a squeeze, taking in the sight of her holding their son. He brought his other hand over to their son, touching his small cheek with his thumb lightly before the baby reached up and grabbed onto his finger. Siris laughed softly, admiring how frail the babies grip was on his thumb and how he was still sound asleep. It nearly caused him to shed a tear there as well but he managed to contain it for now.

Siris glanced over at Alais when she mentioned that they were parents now, it being wholly true this time. It would be a complete lifestyle change from what they were used to with a kid now in the mixed. But both of them have wanted the challenge and Siris knew that they will be able to solve it. When she asked what she wanted to name him, Siris thought to himself for a moment, gazing down at the baby and his changeable features.
"How about Elix? Elix Drast." It certainly had a ring to it and he quite liked how it sounded. Siris glanced back over to Alais, "What do you think?"

Andraste could only stare at their little son, marveling over every little detail. Her fingers traced over his soft skin and his tiny little nose and lips. She couldn’t help but smile as his face scrunched up a bit and he wiggled around in her arms. She felt Siris kiss the top of her head, and she turned her face to steal a quick kiss from his lips. Andraste even saw Siris in a different light, as the father of her child. It was an entirely different dynamic, and one she hadn’t anticipated, “I didn’t think I could keep finding new ways to love you,” She half whispered as she gazed into Siris’ eyes.

“We did well,” She replied to him, smiling down at their baby, “He is both of us,” Andraste cherished this moment. It was just the three of them, with the baby being the smallest and newest addition to the family. Andraste leaned against Siris, closing her eyes and quietly resting for a bit.

As he mentioned the name, Andraste opened her eyes again, looking down at her son, “Elix..” She stared at his face few moments longer, “I like it,” She smiled as she leaned down to kiss his forehead, “Welcome to the galaxy, Prince Elix Drast.”
