Armed Forces Training Sessions

Hello there my fellow non-force sensitives!

I plan on arranging some training and classes by way of NPCs for non-force sensitives. I'd like to find some training for my own character, Laang, and I just want to hear some ideas from the other non-force sensitive players here as to what they'd like to see. Thoughts?

Well, considering the relatively few non-force sensitive Imperial players, I figured in the process of training my own character I would use NPC's. In his case, for personal threads, this takes the role of an HK-483 assassin droid named Apollo who is his assigned Training Overseer in a similar fashion as PROXY is to Starkiller in TFU, but for the open trainings and classes, I figured I would use some random NPC's depending on what was being taught.

As far as knowledge, I'm particularly interested in learning combat techniques beyond basic hand-to-hand. I'd like to learn some special operations knowledge, things like SERE and demolitions if possible. I'd also like for Laang to learn some Jedi Hunting techniques. Piloting skills would also be nice. Generally anything an independent field operative might need at his or her disposal :p

Well hot dawg son, let me be part of this initiative. For the most part, my Stormie's still a recruit (if I can ever get his threads to push along, he might hit private.) so training could help that. If anything, he can teach basic radio protocol.

Awesome! I'll let you know what's going on then once I get some thoughts together. Hmmm...so following the Lepi Parole thread where Laang escapes prison and is recruited by Imperial Intelligence, I've fast forwarded him to two months into his training, which will be the true entrance into the timeline and provide him with some skills since I can't possibly write all those training threads alone. I imagine there would be some training sessions he could teach to Imperials, as well as classes he would take alongside them. Are you interested in doing a SERE thread? I figure hostile environment training is a must for every stormtrooper or operative and there would only be so many schools the Empire would use. I figure being Imperial Intelligence simply puts him ahead in theory, but the school would teach the same classes giving the opportunity for mixed groups.

Story is, Laang has been embedded by the Ubiqtorate into a stormtrooper training cycle on Yavin IV. Taught by the former Mandalorian-turned-Imperial Commando, Aaray Uruetii, the class is broken into three phases; the first phase focuses on survival and evasion, and teaches woodcraft and survival techniques for all climates, field first aid, land navigation, camouflage techniques, evasion techniques, communication protocols, and how to make improvised tools, weapons, and traps. The second phase is focused more on resistance and escape, and teaches students how to deal with a variety of interrogation and torture techniques, as well as methods and theories of escaping from capture and imprisonment.

The final phase is a two week long survival crucible, where the skills that were taught in the previous two phases are put to the test. Students are provided only with a basic set of tools, and dropped onto one of the feral planets with one day's head start before Aaray Uruetii and his teams move in to track, capture, and interrogate the students. Each student is kept for the full two weeks; those who are captured are held in the same manner as prisoners of war, with no exceptions made for their well-being. If a student breaks under questioning, goes into critical condition, or drops on request, the course is failed.

Ishale could definitely help out with demolitions and similar training, and a SERE-type school would be an interesting idea. Though it might be a bit difficult to pull off with so few active non-Force users in the Imperial forces.

I was planning on having a class where Jade helps NFS characters get practise in dealing with force users. She was a mercenary and assassin for a long time with no Force knowledge, and with her new knowledge of how sith think she might have a trick or two to share.

Personally I'm hoping this works out; I'm pumped for any amount of non-FS thread and Stormies are awesome.

Evade
Resist
Escape

Essentially teaching you how to survive when stranded in hostile territory, evade enemy patrols in that sort of situation. To resist capture and (following capture) interrogation and torture techniques intended to break you. And following that, to escape the enemy, or make his life miserable with your attempts to the point that fellow POWs can actually get away.
