Name: The Ao. (Females of this race are known as Aurana)
- Biology: The physical appearance of an Ao or Aurana cannot be described with mere words, as it does them disservice. Those who have beheld them simply described them as Celestial Dragons. Similar to Dragons in all respect, they can change form between their large celestial body and their more humanoid counterpart. In theory, they can take on any form they wish, but do not. Though variable in appearance, Ao generally had serpentine bodies, diaphanous wings, and a pair of legs on each of many body segments. The legs on their frontmost segment were used as arms with fully articulated hands. Their average length was ten meters, but some were rumored to be one hundred meters or more. Ao were covered in scales which ranged from various shades of colors. In humanoid form, they resemble humanoid dragons. They’re still covered in scaly hide, but they don’t have tails. They are tall and strongly built, often standing close to 6 feet in height and weighing 150 pounds or more -- females being of basically the same height and weight as males. Their hands and feet are strong, talon like claws with four fingers and a thumb on each hand. A Ao's head can feature a blunt snout, a strong brow, and distinctive frills at the cheek and ear. Behind the brow, a crest of hornlike scales of various lengths resembles thick, ropy hair. Their eyes are shades of red or gold. Most Ao in humanoid form have very fine scales over most of their body, giving their skin a leathery texture, with regions of larger scales on the forearms, lower legs and feet, shoulders, and thighs.

- Breeding: It is known that a mating challenge is delivered between opposing Ao for an Aurana. The same can be done between Aurana under certain circumstances. Once mated, they are laid born in a hard-crusted egg, commonly in space. Young Ao grow faster than any other children do. They learn to control their bodies hours after hatching, reach the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3 and reach adulthood by 15. They live an exorbitant amount of time, centuries.
- Strengths: An ancient wisdom and akin abilities to their physical forms. Stronger, faster, and wiser than any man. They do not partake in combat often, but when needed can unleash the Force in a raw manner, for they are able to see a spectrum that most species cannot perceive. They can "see" the force in it's raw form, although very few have ever been able to manipulate it as a Jedi or Sith does, they can manage to unleash it in it's most basic forms of telekinesis. They posses scales that naturally protect them from attacks, although the skin underneath is especially vulnerable. They can survive in vacuum.
- Weaknesses: An attack from the Force can be lethal in any form to an Ao or Aurana that does not know how to properly defend itself. Otherwise, regular weapons applied to weaknesses between scales can also prove deadly.
- Diet: They can sustain themselves by eating the remnants of celestial bodies.
- Behavior/Temperament: They are old, older than most stars. It is not uncommon for an Ao/Aurana to be incredibly vain, as their appearance is of utmost importance.
- Communication: They know almost every spoken language in the Galaxy, and can commmunicate using any of them.
- Culture: They certainly know of the Force's existence. It is not common for many Ao or Aurana to be in a group. There was a time, before global expansion, where "Star-Forging" took place. The act of maintaining a solar body, and as such protecting the worlds surrounding it. Groups of their kind would inhabit a galaxy, harvesting it's sun's natural radiation as food. Since global expansion, however, they have delved into the unknown regions, or have been hunted down and killed.
- History: An Ao or Aurana is an exotic creature, and as such, they seldom encountered any equals. As more forms of life emerged to fill the universe, a multitude of primitive eyes gazed up and beheld their work with wonder and breathless pondering. Flattered by this audience of countless worlds, they became fascinated by their fledgling civilizations, who crafted amusingly self-centered philosophies on the nature of their stars. Some revered them, others cowered in fear of them, but the result was the same: They worked in the Stars, as it was their home. Hundreds of Thousands of years ago, when the Galaxy began utilizing space travel, the Ao where startled but amused by the advancement. They learned of the denizens of the Galaxy. But in the end, they where hunted down and killed for sport, with only few surviving. The tales of a Star-Faring Dragon became Myth as the secluded themselves in faroff regions of space. They have still observed the stars they maintained from so long, from afar. Ever waiting for a time where they might return.
- Planet: It is unknown as to where this species originates, as they are likely born of the vastness of space itself.
- Technology: They will only use technology when taking on a humanoid appearance, using regular technology. They usually do not, however.
- Intent: A while ago, I joined an Elder Scrolls RP site with the intent on creating a Dragon character. Unlike any other RP Character before (And this is ironically a fact), the Dragon could traverse the world and aide in any way it deemed necessary, being often utilized as a preator or arbiter of peace, a voice of wisdom amiss chaos and uncertainty. A part of me wishes to bring a character like that here, and so I created the Ao with the intent of providing a race whose very nature prevents it from being directly entangled in the agendas of the main factions, instead opting to help the Galaxy evolve as a whole. I am aware that this race is far-fetched, I also know that many will question exactly how you go about RPing as a Star Forging Space Dragon, and I will gladly answer your questions below.
