INFORMATION:
Anubis is virtually unfamiliar with the force, He only recently learned that his parents and their associates weren't who he had been led to believe. In direct effect, nor was he. Because of this, he had a great difficulty believing in anything other than cold hard facts, what he could see and touch. He is quite skilled with swords, unarmed fighting, and staves, as well as a weapon believed to have originated on his planet. His greatest skills, however, are less combat related, and more about words.

PERSONALITY:
Anubis was originally raised to believe that he was a god, due to his parents and their scheme, using their advanced technology to give the impression of divine powers. This led him to become impulsive, brash, arrogant, and demanding. When he was young, he felt a kinship with the slaves that his parents had used, and in many instances, when no one was around, treat them well. However, whenever anyone else was around, he would exhibit the same cruelty as his parents did. His parents had scolded him many times for attempting to make peace with the slaves, saying that he was above them. A god like them didn't need to be down in the dirt with the slaves. They were worth no more than the sands, each of them as important as a single grain of the sands upon which they walked. While he always disagreed with this deep down, he was still an impressionable child, and heeded his parents words. His arrogance mostly came from his battle skills, which proved to be more than adequate in most cases. He took naturally to combat, as well as diplomatic roles. After discovering the truth about his parents, he was wracked with guilt. He believed himself to be just as bad as his parents and the others were, believing they were so much better than others, as if their lives had so much merit, but the slaves were worthless. His arrogance diminished, but the guilt stuck with him. He became rather introverted, at least until he feels comfortable around people. He abhors slavery, and would do virtually anything to eliminate it. He often has trouble sleeping, haunted by the sins of his past. This gives him a somewhat tormented disposition. He is, however, very kind to those he likes, which is just about everyone. Though looking at him, many would think of him as a tough and dangerous man. But, his stern demeanor hides a sensitive soul, that yearns for acceptance and equality among all peoples and species. He yearns for partnership and companionship as well, but these are simply things he has learned that few truly achieve.

BIOGRAPHY:
Anubis was born to a pair of rulers of his home planet, the "god" Set and the "goddess" Nephthys. His parents, along with their companions were deemed gods, and were worshiped as such due to their technology. The slaves, which made up nearly the entire population of the planet, were kept away from this technology, and used as slaves for various purposes. For the most part, these slaves were used for manual labor. Anubis, when he was still very young, attempted to make friends some of the slaves, and because of this, treated them nicely whenever his parents or the others weren't around. However, he was forced to enact similar forms of cruelty to some of them, deeds which haunt him to no end. During this childhood, he believed himself to be a god, due to the teachings of his parents. He thought himself mighty, divine, invincible. He was trained by the mightiest of warriors that the planet had to offer, many of which were quite skilled. From a young age, he also proved to be good with words, able to persuade people to see his way. He once almost sparked a rebellion, unintentionally, as it were. However, it was quickly quelled, and all of the slaves who were believed to be behind it were murdered. He was forced himself to slay several of them as a form of atonement for his "blasphemous crimes". This simply added to his already heavy burden of guilt.

However, a few years ago, the planet received visitors, a group of ships from the Galactic Alliance. These men thwarted the current regime, and freed the slaves. Anubis himself was defeated, along with the others when he was attempting to defend his planet from the "demon invaders". However, it was revealed to him that his life had been a lie. He was no god, and nor were his parents or the others. This led to a break down, that lasted the better part of three years. When he finally snapped out of it, he sought help from the alliance, begging for a way to redeem the horrible things he had done. First, he deeply apologized to the slaves, telling them all, personally, in a grand ceremony, that they were free to lead their own lives. Never again would a false god make them do their bidding. This, made him somewhat popular among the people, even though there were many who still despised him for his role in their suffering. He understood that nothing he could or would ever do would fully make up for the atrocities he had committed, but he would never stop doing whatever he could to atone for them. He was introduced to the Jedi Order shortly before his 18th birthday. He immediately saw a chance for some small hint of redemption by joining the jedi. Men and women, mortals, like him, not false deities, who did everything they could to help anyone they came across. It was something he simply couldn't pass up.

THAT NAME.

(Great profile, by the way! It is definitely aesthetically pleasing, and I think it gives you good opportunity to get some quality roleplaying.)

I look forward to seeing you around, Initiate WEPWAET!

(Also another side note, make sure you register with the New Jedi Order before you run around with a lightsaber doing good and light-side stuff. The NEJ is a faction, and thus, you must apply for it.)

Edit: Wanted to include the link.

lol Do you dislike his name? I just sent in my little app to join the faction a moment ago. And thank you, man. I appreciate it. To be fair, I stole- *cough* borrowed it from Holiday and Saul. I was very please with the way it looked, so, I thought I would use it. I did ask Saul for permission, he said he didn't mind.

I guess the main point I'm trying to get across is I...HATE...SAUERKRAUT! That's all I'm really trying to say...

Now that the reference is out of the way, thanks again, Dood.

I admit I giggled a little when I saw it, but I DEFINITELY don't dislike it! (That's a double negative, aka, I like it)

And hey, as long as the chaps are okay with, nothing wrong with taking an idea and making it your own.

And seriously, if you ever want to RP; let me know. I have a couple characters you can get involved with.

If he gets accepted into the order, I would gladly do an rp with ya. Oh, and both the given and the family name are the names of Ancient Egyptian deities.

I actually suggested that he copy Saul's format when he told me he liked the format and asked for tips. I like the organization behind it. Plus, tables are always nice things.

I love the name and the theme. As a side note, I probably haven't mentioned this, but the naming convention used behind the race I created (Lamians) is based very loosely off Egyptian as well as some Hellenic-inspired stuff.

Very interesting background, I might add. You could possibly create said planet under the planets category and call it [Indie]. There needs to be a planet of black people anyways! I also like the theme of penitence, his guilt should be a strong driving factor that would give him a strange relationship with the Dark Side (which would feed off the emotion but I imagine he'd be more adverse to the Dark Side than other initiates). That said, be prepared to be frowned upon for your past mistakes.

lol Thank you for the compliments, Saul. I have the intention of posting up the planet here. But, I'm likely to not have an internet connection or the next week or so. Sprung a trip out of town on me. So, I'll probably post it up when I get back.

As for the background, yeah, I figure his deeds will give him some trouble, especially with the burdens of guilt. He is likely to have brushes with the dark side due to his past, and may even be tempted by it at times. But I also figure that his burden of guilt considering how his parents were would also work as a decent deterrent from it, doing virtually everything he can to turn away from the darker side of himself that he is constantly trying to run away from. Eventually he'll have to face it, and he knows it, but he also feels that he just isn't ready for it, for fear that it will simply consume him.

Nice read.

You may want to break down the personality and biography sections of the character profile into paragraphs...
