Abandoned Military Instillation, Adumar
Early Morning

Maybe nobody else would be so impressed, but Dingo had never seen a real live archeological dig before. He made sure to take it all in so that he could record it properly later. There was a big hole spread all across the ground with carefully measured pits and mounds scattered here and there-- that must have been where the archeologist people did their test drills. Guidewalks and roped off areas sat like a giant spiderweb over the dig site. And in the center of it all stood a large set of pitted and dirty double doors that led into the underground facility.

The only problem with the place was that there weren't any people around, which was a shame as Dingo had a lot of questions to ask. From what he understood, someone in the Historical Preservation Society had stumbled across datawork that indicated the existence of this old, abandoned base. Rather than have the government sweep in and confiscate everything, the HPS had excavated it off the grid. Then they'd hired himself and a few others to go treasure hunting for old artifacts and the like.

Excitement poured through his every vein. He continued bouncing up and down a little bit, just as he had throughout their whole trip here. He turned back to their transport-- a cozy little landspeeder-- and their contact for the trip. He was wiry little guy, the sort who spent more time with books than anything else. His brown hair just never quite stayed put and his gaunt face and blue eyes almost made him look clownish.

"This is going to be amazing." Dingo felt himself grinning. "Thanks for giving us the job, sir."

The man, Dr. Ermond, matched his smile: "Ah, uh... no trouble at all. Are there any last minute questions before you depart?"
