Andé Sheltav
FULL NAME: Andé Sheltav
AGE: 27
SPECIES: Human cyborg
HOMEWORLD: Naboo

HEIGHT: 5'8''
WEIGHT: 123 pounds

EYE COLOR: Dark Brown
HAIR COLOR: Brown
SKIN TONE: Medium
MARKINGS: Scars here and there

FACTION: Jedi Knights
RANK: Knight

The lightsaber hilts all floated in harmony around her, as she sat in the floor with her eyes closed, focused on levitating them. A small smile almost appeared on Andé's face as she realized she was actually managing to focus on something. Suddenly, a small buzzing echoed lightly across the room, and one of Andé's half open eyes wandered off to trail the small insect on it's routine flight. Her concentration broken, the hilts fell abruptly to the ground and she looked at them in disbelief. Shit. "No, no, no and no!" a loud voice thundered from behind her. "A Jedi simply does not break their concentration like that! Nevermind for idiotic reasons like a kriffing insect!" Knight Rakel continued. He was a giant of a man, standing at almost seven inches tall. Not a gentle giant in the slightest, Rakel was by far the most senior Knight in the temple (perhaps in the entire order) at 63 years old, although it was not to his credit; He was too incompetent and, in the words of the council, "explosive" to warrant a promotion to Master. Therefore, he liked taking out his frustration on his young students before they were knighted and he rarely missed a chance. Still, such bursts of anger were uncharacteristic of him, and realizing he was letting his emotions get the better of him, he breathed deeply. Truly, Andé knew how to strike his nerves.

Placing a hand on his forehead, he adressed her once more - "Look, Andé, we've been over this a thousand times. You aren't going to do ANYTHING remotely useful for the order if you insist on spending your time on pointless endeavours and idiotic distractions" he said in a slightly less loud, but nontheless commanding tone as one of his massive, sweaty hands was brought down on the poor insect that caused her to fail, utterly destroying it. Andé stared at her master, in a mix of disbelief and shame. "I... I'm sorry Knight Rakel" she said in a raspy voice. Rakel simply shook his head. "You're sorry? Being sorry is simply not going to cut it anymore Andé!" She looked intently at the Knight, and couldn't help noticing a prominent drop of yellow-ish sweat forming on his brow. Rakel, oblivious to this, continued. "The Jedi Order saved your life, gave you a home and training, and this is how you repay us?" Andé barely paid any attention to him, instead focusing on the drop that was now sliding across his left cheek. "You distract yourself with stupidities, you get into fights with your fellow Padawans, and more importantly, you are disrespectful to your teachers!" the small drop continued it's journey, eventually halting at Rakel's upper lip, then going over it and into his mouth. Andé couldn't help but chuckle. "And you ar- WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LAUGHING ABOUT NOW?! Did everything I just say go out your other ear?! You will go to the library at once, and spend the rest of the day educating yourself there! And I don't want to hear another word out of you until you learn how to behave! Now go, at once!"] Rakel said, once more letting his frustration make istelf manifest. Andé thought his outburst to be pretty funny, but kept herself from laughing again to avoid the consequences. She began making her way outside, but was suddenly stopped by a voice coming from the door.

"Actually, I'd much prefer that she stay, Rakel." The man spoke. "Master Xayn! What and... unexpected pleasure!" Rakel said nervously. Master Xayn was a well-known, respected member of the order. Gifted in many aspects, he was a force to be reckoned, both in his skill with the Force and with lightsaber. Famous for humbly denying an offer to be in the council in order to be able to train as many Padawans and Knights as he could, students practically stepped over each other to get his attention, almost comically. Still, he was very thorough in his selection for apprentices. "Yes, I imagine it is..." the bearded master said. "So, you must be Andé young one" he said, looking at her. Andé was surprised he knew her name. Then she figured most people around her classroom did, with the infinity of times Knight Rakel shouted it out loud. She simply nodded her head. Rakel, on the other hand, looked confused, but still took the opportunity to try and come out ahead. "Yes, this is Andé. I've thaught her so much Master Xayn. If you want, I can demonstrate what she kn- " he abruptly finished as he was interrupted by Master Xayn's raised hand. "That won't be necessary, Rakel. In fact, could you do me a favor? I want you to inform the council that the training of this young girl will now be my duty, in lieu of your... interesting methods" he said dissaprovingly while looking at the dead insect. Andé couldn't believe what she was hearing; she was now the apprentice of a hero within the Jedi. Rakel turned red with embarassment. "I... Sorry Master Xayn. It won't happen again. I'll inform the council of your... desicion." the towering man said, bowing his head slightly. Dismissing him with a wave of his hand, he turned to Andé, who looked up to him expectantly.

"Very well Andé. First off, I want you to forget anything that brute told you. It eludes me why such a gifted student would be paired with a master like him, but it is not my place to question," he said placing one hand on her shoulder. "Your real training begins now".

APPEARANCE &

MODIFICATIONS
tumblr_nadooeiPke1qzv8pno4_400.gif
Despite being considered attractive by most accounts, Andé is pretty unconcerned about her appearance, usually foregoing any kind of makeup or cosmetic apparel and instead prefers to keep simple. She believes hair is a natural obstacle, but is too lazy to get it shaved and instead keeps it a reasonable length in the simplest, most un-complicated bob hairstyle she can. Her hair and eyes are brown, and I mean normal brown. Not the kind of brown that saves the galaxy and takes 5 lines of text to describe. Nothing really stands out on her face; big, round eyes, average nose, curly eyelashes, big teeth, natural eyebrows and some freckles here and there complete the picture. All in all, she's just a pretty girl who is pretty much oblivious to it. Oh, and she has big, kissable lips. Grrr...

As said before, average is pretty much the best way to describe Andé. Not voluptuous, but yet not petite, she doesn't tower over anyone at 5'8''. A slightly more muscular and toned body than average is the legacy of her intense training with Master Xayn during her time on the Jedi Order on Tython, product of a more physical oriented training than most Padawans recieved. Physically at her prime, she is as fit as they come and is generally in favor of demonstarting it to those who don't agree (usually with someone ending up on the medbay). Otherwise, her weight and build are pretty normal for a woman her height in her late-twenties.

However, beyond what the naked eye can see lies the non-average, interesting part of her. A victim of illegal implant and genetic modifications vendors, Andé still bears their marks in the form of various implants on her brain stem, spine, and extremeties. Although most of these implants have become non-functional due to time and the timely intervention of the Jedi, some of the more generic ones remain functional, giving her slightly improved eyesight, smell, muscle mass and reflexes than average. As a result of her many injuries suffered during these procedures, several internal organs have also been repaired or, in some cases, completely replaced by mechanical components. Such instances include her windpipe, kidneys, left lung, several arteries, part of her spine and most of her vertebrae. Furthermore, several parts of her skeleton have been reinforced with a metal alloy to prevent them from breaking.

All of these lay hidden beneath her skin and pounds of light armor she seldom takes off, except for her eye implants, visible in the form of a small, blue halo surrounding her iris. She is pretty much indefferent to her many internal differences to the average person, and instead thanks the Force that her digestive system was untouched, thus allowing her to continue eating whatever she wants.

PERSONALITY
A hot-headed, unconcerned, do-before-you-think troublemaker since her young days, Andé has changed little despite her teacher's earnest efforts. Always around the corner with a friendly joke or a not so friendly sarcastical comment, she has a hard time taking something seriously. Or at least, that is the perception most people get out of her. In reality, she is capable of taking some stuff seriously if she considers it to be serious. What criteria she uses to decide the seriousness of something is anyone's guess. Living life at it's fullest (or so she tells herself) she prefers to ask for forgiveness than for permission, and thus usually finds herself in more sticky situations than she's comfortable with. A self-procalimed free spirit, Andé cares little for other's opinion and thus goes on about her life without a single care for what others may think or say about her actions. She won't be starting a civil war anytime soon, but she might start a couple of bar fights. Just sayin'.

Despite her general attitude, Andé is a caring and generally amiable young woman, always looking to put a smile (or a look of dissaproval) on someone's face and has dedicated her life to figthing injustice in the name of the Jedi. Easy to give out trust and extremely sociable, she has a rather large list of friends and acquintances, and she steadily keeps adding people to it. Despite being pretty laidback, she has zero tolerance to people who like to put themselves above others (also, zero tolerance to lactose. Like, ZERO.) and is willing to do everything in her power to put down men and women like this. She tries to hold no grudges or to think too much of her failures, but she is still human and thus is, to some level, affected by memories of her painful past. Suffering from occasional bouts of depression, she fights them off by presenting herself as the bright youngster that most remember her as, and anything that remains holed up inside her, she shakes off via fighting. It really doesn't matter how; she can be having a friendly sparring with other Jedi, or relentlessly going after an enemy of the Knights, but she makes sure to hold nothing back when her lightsaber is ignited in her hand. Despite her terrible experiences as a child, Andé took it upon herself to not let them bring her down, and to grow stronger from them. Still, she can't quite bring herself to simply forget the hardships and pains she went through.

Living by the old "all or nothing", she strives to reach perfection in both her combat prowess and her skill with the force, despite being aware that she is more naturally gifted in the first. She saw the order as too slow, and too conservative to respond to the rumours of the Sith reassembling, and was glad beyond description when she was practically sent away to the Lord's army in a move by her superiors to get rid of her and put her undeniable combat skills to use there, same which were evidently goign to waste by sitting long days in the libraries, fulfilling her punishments for misbehaving. She is blunt, direct, and usually speaks out her mind before stopping to think how it may sound or how it may affect those around her (like everything else she does, really).

While she never completely agreed with the more phylosophical and spiritual side of the Jedi, she came to at least grudgingly accept it, reaching the conclusion that the Jedi are needed across the galaxy, not only because of their glowing sticks, their SPACEMAGIC, or their cool-ass robes, but because of what they represent. She believes that wherever a Jedi goes, he stands for justice and the preservation of civilization. Truly, whenever a bystander sees one, they automatically assumes good things are to come. Andé knows this is not always true, but she still delivers herself fully to the Jedi cause, intently believing that peace cannot be achieved without conflict and thus is willing to fight to the death for hustice, leading to a mild case of zealotry within her.

BIOGRAPHY

Andé was born in Naboo to wealthy parents, and since her youngest years received the best care and education money could buy. A troublemaker by nature, however, Andé's ass was kicked out of every school she attended faster than her parents could say "wasted tuition", and so, it wasn't long before she found herslef within the shackles of a PUUUBLIIC SCHOOOL (insert creepy piano music). It was a actually a very good school, better than many privates, but, product of a spoiled life, Andé had conditioned herself to believe nothing that came free could be a good thing. Still, Andé was given a pretty clear case; either she shaped up, or she shipped out to Theed, where her mother could use some of her pull and influence in the Nabbo capital to make Andé a handmaidden for the Queen. Nothing terrified her more than the idea of dressing up in that ridiculous orange and basically being the Queen's little follower. So, at the expense of her fun, Andé actually began doing well in school (for her standards, anyway) and managed, for the most part, to quell her parents anger. In truth, it seemed like her life was taking a turn for the better. Still, trouble ocassionaly seemed to find her, but for the most part, she steered clear of it.

However, all good things must come to an end, and one day, Andé was snatched outside of her house, never to be seen or heard from again. Despite their earnest efforts, her parents were never able to find out what happened to her, and her father turned to drinking, eventually dying of critical liver failure. Mere months after his passing, Ms. Sheltav commited suicide in her house. As for Andé, she was kidnapped by a bunch of small-time criminals, who quickly sold her to a passing slaver ship. The slavers who owned the ship treated their slaves with extra-cruelty, and Andé wasn't the exception. The slavers used her, and then sold her to the owners of a misterious clinic in Nar Shadda, who were looking for a healthy prepubescent with good genes. Andé matched their description perfectly. Eventually, she came to the realization that she was standing in the workshop of illegal implant and modification vendors, who needed a healthy specimen to test the shit they developed on before selling it on the black market. Sound like a friendly bunch, don't them?

For nearly two years, Andé's life consisted on sitting around in a hole, drugged out of her mind, until one of the guards would come and restrain her on a cold metal table. Then, several people in bloodied labcoats would enter and begin discussing how the implants and modifications had positively or negatively affected her body. If the implant had been succsesful, they would open her up and extract it. Implants that performed negatively would be left inside her, and a new batch of new modifications would be installed in place of the ones they removed. They didn't even care that some implants where incompatible with others, as Andé was just one of many kept there against their will. Lab rats of the worst kind. A monstrosity of illegal science inside, Andé looked untouched on the outside. All the shit that was plugged in inside her soon began to negatively affect her health, particularily her body's urinary, respiratory and circulatory systems. Her bone tissue also suffered significantly. Not like there was much she could do, anyway.

One day, she was routinely taken to the operation room where she was restrained. As usual, the techinicians walked in and began conferring among themselves, talking about how X implant in her body had affected Y function of it, and about how much money they would make from this batch of implants, and about how they should blow the money on cheap liquor and equally cheap prostitues, and about a hundred other things before finally beggining the procedure She braced herself for the injection, but mor importantly, for what came after; her captors couldn't afford to fully anesthezise their subjects before cutting them up, and thus only partially anesthezised them. She braced for the pain to begin, but instead she heard someone rush inside the operation room. She tried to move her head to see them, but her restraints prevented her from doing so. "Holy shit dudes, we need to get the hell outta this place!" The newly arrived figure shouted. The people about to operate on Andé looked at each other confused, until the man spoke again. "There are some shits tearing the place apart! I think they're fu*cking Jedi, or whatever they're called! The simple mention of the word "Jedi" was enough to raise panic around the operating table, until someone else spoke up. "Shit, what do we do with the subjects? If one of them talks, we'll..." he finished as he was interrupted by the one Andé had gathered, in her time there, was the leader of the bunch. He spoke. "Kill them. Quickly." he said in an emotionless voice. Andé moved her eyes, trying to see what was going on until she felt cold metal on her throat, followed by a burning sensation and the near impossibility to breath as she realized her throat had been slit. Just then, blazes of blue and green accompanied by a light humming began lighting up the room as dying screams where heard and bodies dropped to the ground. After the short scuffle, a robed, hooded man approached Andé, and immediatly called for help. "This one is alive! Help over here, put pressure on the wound!". Andé tried to speak, but all that came out was a gurgled plea, product of a partially severed windpipe and the presence of blood in her trachea. Her whole world turned upside down as she passed out.

Days later, she would awaken on a nondescript medbay, feeling much better than she had in along while. The people that raided the illegal modification parlor were indeed Jedi, who had learned of the unethical practices taking place there and decided to permanently close their little business. Unfortunately, most of the subjects were killed as soon as the Jedi arrived, and only a few were rescued, including Andé. The group of Jedi who rescued her sensed her undeniable strength in the Force, and thus afforded her the best medical care they could find, in hopes that on her recovery they could take her back to the Order with them. Andé was now, even less human than before, as several of her organs were too damaged from the constant surgeries and modifications they had to be enhanced or replaced completely by mechanical components; her kidneys, left lung, windpipe, several arteries and part of her bone tissue where replaced with synthetic replacements, among others. Still, Andé made a full recovery and left Nar Shadda with the Jedi in order to go to Tython.

Andé was warily accepted as a Padawan learner; she was the right age and showed promise, but the council was cautious of her disposition to talk back and genrally get into trouble. Still, Andé excelled at lightaber combat, quickly rising above her peers in said combat and cementing herself as a skilled fencer. Most of her training in the Force involved using it to further enhance her strenght and speed while in lightsaber fighting, learning mostly basic techniques in that field. Neverheless, trouble continued to find her even as a Jedi, and thus she constantly got into fights with other students, questioned the more phylosophical side of the Jedi and talked back to her teachers, but Andé nevertheless shined when it was time to step into the sparring chambers, and held nothing back during her sparring lessons with other students, usually ending with her opponents in the medbay. Despite this, her initial Master, a Knight by the name of Rakel always seemed dissapointed in her progress. An incompetent Knight by most accounts, Rakel had not been allowed to advance to the rank of Master despite having already reached 63 years of life. Bitter over this, the gigantic seven feet tall Jedi usually took out his frustration on his young student, further discouraging her from changing her ways and instead causing her to simply laugh at him and his outburst which certainly did not help his temper.

During one of her attempts at meditation however, luck smiled upon her as Rakel completely lost his cool and proceeded to practically verbally abuse her, (as he had done some times before, mind you) only to be heard and witnessed by Master Xayn. Master Xayn was a hero amongst the Jedi, famous for both his skill with his weapon and with the Force, as well as his humble denial of the offer to sit amongst the Jedi council, insisiting that his place was among the students and his mission to teach as many as he could, something he wouldn't be able to do with what being a council member entailed. Master Xayn, apalled at what he had just seen, reprimanded Rakel and decided to personally oversee the rest of Andé's training and thus became her new master. Andé was now learning under one of the most respected Jedi Masters in the order. Under his teaching, Andé perfected her already commendable skill with lightsabers, and also improved both her overall conduct and her ability with the Force. An understanding an patient teacher, Xayn was everything Andé could have hoped for in a teacher and the two formed a close, functional relationship.

By the time Andé was 23, she was already being considered for Knighthood per her exceptional progress and growth both as a Jedi and as a person. However, before her training could be completed by her master, Jedi Lord Bau Zo left the council and marched with his newfound Jedi Knights to answer to the growing Sith rumours. Despite already being older, Master Xayn decided to join his army and wanted to take his Padawan with him, but despite his earnest efforts, his superiors did not allow it, claiming Andé was still young, and that she would be better of remaining in Tython. Heartbroken, Andé was separated from her master and much to her dismay, she was paired with Master Huji, a MUCH older man who spent his entire time reading in the libraries and doing other old men nonsense. However despite her initial expectations, Andé ended up learning much in the way of common sense and knowledge with the wise old Jedi, who was an amiable man and Andé found his company to be accomodating. Much to her surprise, Master Huji even took her to visit old Jedi ruins and artifacts, completely breaking the sedentary, quiet image Andé had of him. Unfortunately, Master Huji passed away of old age much to the sadness of the Jedi on Tython, for he was a loved and respected Master. However, before, dying, Huji was able to write a message to the Jedi Council which was presented to them after his passing. The letter, in short, spoke of the great advancements Andé had shown in many aspects, and of the great promise she showed. He finally requested in his message that Andé be Knighted and allowed to choose her way in life. Well, Andé knew exactly what she wanted; she wanted to join the Lord's Knights and fight in their name, and told the council so. The council, partly to grant Huji his wish in death and partly to get rid of her, granted Andé's request and knighted her before sending her on her way.

And thus, her life as a Knight in Lord Zo's army began...

SKILLS & GEAR
Trained to excell at lightsaber combat by her second master, Andé really shines in that department. Utilizing a mix of Form IV, Ataru and the Djem So variant of Form V, Andé is never truly on the dfensive. With a series of fast paced attacks and powerful flurries from all directions, she further enhances her strength and speed with the Force with the intention of overpowering her enemies and finishing the fight as soon as possible. Avoiding the leaping attacks characteristic of Ataru believing them to be too risky to attempt, Andé instead focuses on keeping her enemy on the defensive and she constantly moves around them, attacking from a different side every time. When faced with multiple enemies or when forced to go into the defensive, she never backs out into a corner or parks the bus like Soresu users, instead using wide, powerful strikes and parries to follow up with Force-assisted counterattacks, immediatly switching back to her offensive style after succsesfuly using the strength of an opponent's own strike against themselves. She is also proficient on the use of blaster pistols, courtesy of Master Xayn's "be prepared for anything" motto.

As far as Force powers go, Andé knows most of what Telekinesis entails, and is rather proficient in augmenting her senses and reflexes through the Force. Her preferred usage of the mystical power, however, is to utilize it to augment her natural strength and speed in order to better execute her combat style. Otherwise, her usage of Force powers and abilities is limited at best, only using the occasional mind trick to get out of sticky situations or a good old lightsaber throw to deal with weak, unprotected enemies.

  • STRENGTH 7/10: Usually working out since her time as a Padawan, Andé is physically fit and toned. While she is not going to be bench-pressing five times her own weight any time soon, she knows how to adequately employ her above average strength in her attacks, and usually further enhances it with the Force.
  • DEXTERITY 8/10: Without a doubt one of her strongest suits, Andé is extremely agile and acrobatic, as is required by her favored Form Ataru. Her lean and small body greatly helps her in this endeavour, and she can easily move quickly while in battle to surprise her enemy from different directions. Using the force to aid her, her already excellent dexterity reaches very high levels indeed.
  • CONSTITUTION 6/10: Despite being physically in her prime, Andé bears the internal and external scars of her time as a test subject for illegal implant vendors. Despite having somewhat recovered thanks to timely medical intervention, Andé's implants and synthetic components soemtimes bring her pain and discomfort, preventing her from reaching a perfect health.
  • INTELLIGENCE 7/10: Quick to learn and adapt to new situations, Andé nevertheless isn't some kind of genius, but she rather employs her mind in devising combat strategies and styles.
  • WISDOM 6/10: Despite having common sense, Andé did spend most of her life as a test subject or within the confines of the Temple in Tython so her knowledge of the galaxy at large is rather scarce. Still, thanks to late Master Huji's teachings, Andé knows more than she would have, and is always open to receiving new knowledge.
  • CHARISMA 9/10: Why have a silver-tongue, when you can have a gold one?

As for her possesions, Andé prefers to travel lightly, and thus owns little else than what you'll see on her. The one thing she never leaves without is, obviously, her lightsaber, a different variant that includes crossguards, therefore emmiting three blue blades; the main one and the two side ones. She also usually carries with her a standard, compleletely average in every sense blaster pistol which has no outstanding capabilities nor does anything remarkable; it simply fires red colored shots that kill people. Furthermore, she rarely leaves the relative safety of her light armor (doesn't wear the mask/helmet thing) and sometimes wears her robes on top of the armor. The armor itself isn't some kind of personal fortress, either. It can only take a couple medium intesity shots before they penetrate, and offers little to no protection against blades or lightsabers. Finally, she owns a common, stock YG-300 Light Freighter to get around whcih she stole from some baddies in the outer rim. Hey, don't look at me that way!

I never said she was an angel!

Reserving this thing just in case. Anyways, here's my first Jedi! (not only in this timeline, mind you, like, my first jedi ever) So, as always, comments, suggestions, criticism and vulgar insults are more than welcome!
