Ask Mandalore An Old Family Reunion

"No more, no less." Talon stared the man dead in the eye; he was already overpricing the MK Sniper Rifle. Nevertheless, it had the ascension modification, something Talon wanted. And he didn't feel like finding another one. "I should really ask for more..." The man frowned into Talon's mask; he couldn't see much, but the silence said enough. "Fine. But next time, I won't be so lenient." Talon nodded and paid the man, taking the weapon. He didn't care much for a license; no one from the Jedi's world could touch him here.

Now was a task he was much less excited for. He hadn't heart from Adenn or Dol who knew how long; now he got an urgent message from Etr saying Adenn had been shot. The more gossip had spread, the more he had learned; Adenn had basically stood up for Mandalorian independence and almost gotten himself killed by those who would've called him Vod moment before. He didn't know what had led to their falling out; he didn't particularly like Adenn considering the distance that had grown between them. Regardless, he had to make sure his old friend would live.

The situation apparently wasn't too critical anymore, but he still wanted to get more knowledge. So he had arranged to meet with Etr; he didn't know where Adenn was at the moment. Talon rounded the corner and leaned against a wall. His seeker droids buzzed behind him, his droid arm waving about as if hoping someone would show up that it could shoot. He stared at his new blaster and almost smiled; it would be a fun new toy.

Now he played the waiting game, hoping Etr would show up sometime soon. It wasn't Etr's fault that they hadn't seen each other in so long; furthermore, they had a similar backstory. Talon had sympathy for the kid, sorry that Etr had to live in such a cruel world that had stolen his childhood so early...or was he sorry for himself? Talon shook his head. Given the amount of secrecy that had gone into this random meeting, Adenn and Etr were probably into something much bigger than just a bacta tank...

I couldn't remember why Adenn had us leave the Solus' camp a year ago.. I couldn't remember why He didn't say anything to his pack mates. Adenn took on a very Solemn tone after that night. It made me realize how little I had actually known the man. When he fell it was my first Instinct to have made contact with the old pack. Adenn thought maybe Dolworth had Fallen through rumors but nothing had come up regarding Talon. At least not until he had messaged back.

I kept a very low profile walking through the streets, feeling paranoid at the Excitement over the New Mand'alor. In fact I was hesitant to even meet with Talon given the state of Their people... but I trusted my old vod. I hoped to see him again. Then as I rounded A corner there was the man; Talon Vizsla.
"Talon..."
I stopped for a moment. And Swallowed hard back the knot in my throar I had been holding back. the appearance of this old companion of my Father's was such a great thing. It was starting to look like old times.
"It's so great to see you, Vod."

The droids whirred in excitement and Talon sharply looked up to spot Etr, having just rounded the corner. The boy looked shy, almost scared; regardless, he seemed to warm up after a second. He looked hardened, as if the past few days hadn't been easy on him...how could it have been? Talon smiled under the helmet as he remembered his own past, yearning to be considered a man among his peers, longing for the thrill of life to take hold...

He grasped Etr's hand as he would have any warrior, growling the boy's name appreciatively. That was about as sympathetic as Talon got these days. "I would love to catch up..." Talon paused. "I'm mainly here to find out what really happened to Adenn. I've heard rumors, but I wasn't on world that day." The lengthy monologue took enough effort.

"I'll tell you everything. But we should stay moving. I don't know Who might be listening."
I took Talon on a walk, Moving from street to street trying to keep an eye out for anyone watching.
"Adenn had spoken out against the Alliance with the sith and had demanded they leave the planet. He was genuinely disgusted with the lack of response the Warden and other major clans had shown when the Sith jumped in out of hyperspace."
I cleared my throat.
"Then he was even angrier at how the sith had pushed the others to elect a Mand'alor. He challenged the Sith Lord to a duel and spat in his direction. He had demanded that the sith aligned Mandalorians who were from the beginning to push us into alliance with them leave. "
I looked down for a few moments pondering my thoughts.
"He had taken off his helmet as a sign of disrespect and lack of concern for the threat posed by the sith lord. He meant to fight him and even die if it meant the sith would know the Mandalorians wouldn't be shackled by the Dar'jettii again. But the Mand'alor had taken his Challenge to the sith lord as a challenge to him. And so he opened fire on Adenn without warning. In what the Mand'alor considered to be an act of justice and Judgment. His Companions took the opportunity to open fire on him as well."
I clenched my Fists at the remembrance of that
"The cowards. The Mand'alor called Adenn a Traitor but spared our Clan. Then after Adenn Fell the Mand'alor declared alliance with the sith who gave him his fleet. I was left to drag Him back to the ship. Thankfully friends helped me and we were able to save what was left of Adenn but still... this Mand'alor has no honor. And I'm fearful for what future he has in mind for us."

Talon stared at Etr. Everything sounded truthful; he knew the boy to be honest. He felt the anger in his voice, the same anger Talon had experienced when the Dar'Jetti obliterated his Mandalorian family. There they were again...the Dar'Jetti. At the center of everything Talon hated. Magicians, thinking they could do whatever the hell they wanted and get away with it. That was about to change.

Talon was proud of Adenn. He would've killed every traitor to fire a shot in the man's direction, had he been present. All it had taken was a few words from some fool, and the rest had followed without question, even if it meant shooting one of their own brethren. His people were on the same deadly path that had led to the Night of a Thousand Tears. Divided, blinded, and at the mercy of those who had caused such pain throughout Mandalorian history.

He was silent for a moment, deep in thought. He then handed Etr a comm piece and tapped his helmet to make sure the boy understood. The only sound those around would hear was a deep, unintelligible growling. "This...coward you speak of. I will not do him the honor of asking for his name. He is no Mand'alor of mine."

He didn't know what more to see on the subject. "Are you alone taking care of Adenn?" The way the boy's head shifted about, watching for anyone suspicious, told Talon all he needed to know. This was no longer a safe place for true Mandalorians. They were in the abyss, surrounded by Dar'manda.

"Are you alone taking care of Adenn?"
The words came empathetically, Talon had always been a somewhat detached though nevertheless beloved member of the Pack. I was grateful To see him again.
"We were lucky to Have met two other Mandalorians, Casany Praxor and Zaia Krodas. And there's a new Member of the Clan Fesseja who is a very capable doctor. There was some business with an ewok Wizard too who was instrumental in saving Adenn as well. I know we lost contact with you. I know That when we left The Soluses that night we messed up the pack. And all I can do is offer my apology on behalf of Adenn. But we could really use friends right now. This Mand'alor needs to be resisted, its for his own good. This alliance with the sith can't stand."

Talon eyed Etr. Was he talking about what he seemed to be talking about? A rebellion? He thought back to the Code, everything he had ever lived by. Up until now, the 6th had not been applicable, simply because there was no Mand'alor to follow. Now...now things were different.

But another principle was defend yourself, your family, and your clan. Rallying to the side of this ruler and the Sith would blatantly be putting the 6th principle above two others. And raise your children...the things that must've been flashing through Adenn's mind.

"I agree." He ignored the apology; now wasn't the time for grudges. What mattered was that they protected one another. He paused, wondering if his hatred for the Sith was clouding his judgement. Was loyalty towards his family or his people...Talon shook his head. He didn't want to think. He wanted to act, to punish the Sith for what they'd done to him and continue to do.

If it came to war, so be it. He would murder every Dar'manda who crossed his path.
