Giran bounced a ball anxiously against the wall. Why had he agreed to this. Well he'd agreed to this because it was a great way to get to know this new padawan and to blow off some much needed steam... Oh, and because it counted as training. He just didn't know why HE had agreed to it. He was the most uncoordinated jedi in the temple so he'd essentially agreed to make a fool of himself in front of a complete stranger. He knew he was an idiot but he didn't realise quite the extent of the problem! Where was she anyway? She'd said she'd be here at noon and it was (Giran checked his chrono) 11:30.
Giran flopped down onto the dojo floor. Idiot. Why was he so worked up? He thought he'd got over this. He'd thrown himself into his training and he'd made so many friends amongst the order that this anxiety just didn't make sense anymore so why was he so worked up? He knew the answer to that too. It was this whole thing with Oren. He'd been a great teacher to Giran, had helped guide him and make him less of a wreck. Now though he was stuck in some dingy cell on the other-side of the galaxy. He just wished there was something he could do to help. He'd felt useless when the Hutt had originally made his announcement and Oren had been one of the jedi that pulled him out of that slump. Now he was gone and it was clear that Nothing had changed, he still needed to get stronger; he was still weak. He'd thought he was getting better, that he'd been improving. Now though it was clear he still had so far to go. If he couldn't save one of his own, a member of his new family, then he truly was weak.
He let out a long sigh, if he was going to wait here he may aswell make the time worthwhile. He pulled two wooden swords into his hands from a nearby wrack and stood up. he began to run through some of the basic niman katas. He needed practice with his new second saber and as an added benefit it allowed him to straighten out his thoughts before his partner arrived and the real fun began. I hope she gets here soon.
