Silence. Unbearable silence. I watch him, at the ready, the moment he acts I will defend. His attacks will fall away at my impeccable defenses. There is no way h-
"You're an idiot." she blindsides me, coming in from the left and staring me in my face. "A total kriffing idiot, don't you know that the senate is staying out of it for a reason"
He continues to stare at me for a long while, and I turn to her. "There are people dying out there, Olivia, I can do real good for them!" Why doesn't she understand? She should know, she should know better than he ever could! Why isn't he saying anything?!
We sit in our dining room, he sits across from me at the opposite head of the table. She, Olivia, stands in the middle, her eyes fixated on me in an incredulous look. "Don't you get it, Alan? You're talking about joining a militia fighting an unsanctioned war against what may as well be boogeymen. You aren't gonna be helping anyone but yourself, and your raging erection for the military. You've always been this way!" She raises her voice, his eyes flick towards her before returning to the table before him. Those cold blue eyes fixed on the wooden surface over his tented fingers.
"No, I can fight for the people that they're gonna kill!" I stand, shouting now. "The senate has blatantly ignored the threat those boogeymen pose!" Olivia opens her mouth to fire back. Then he holds his hand up, and Olivia falls silent. I look at him, waiting.
"Go."
...What? Did he jus-
"Go, Alan, go fight for those people. Go do what you need to do. If there are people out there that need you, then by all means. Go."
The room falls silent, our eyes on Him. She speaks first. "Are you serious? Dad, he'll get killed!"
"And that is his choice," his eyes now raise to meet mine. His eyes are the same as mine. "Don't forget why you're going out there, Alan. And when you come home, stop by. Your sister and I will be waiting."

Alan lived much of his life playing war, in various cadetting organizations and dreaming of the day the galaxy plunged into war again. He rarely takes anything seriously, but that is not to say he is not reliable. When committing to a task, Alan will do anything to ensure its completion. A burgeoning leader in his own right, he appears to be on the right track to take his own command in the Alliance. That is, if he can survive the shock of combat.

Born on Alderaan to a a planetary government official, Alan lived much of his life well. His mother passed away at a young age, however, and as a consequence his father became distant. His sister, Olivia, on the other hand, became much closer to Alan and helped raise him. Average in school, Alan truly shined in his teamwork. He thrives when part of a team, in a close knit social group or in one of his many cadetting organizations he's taken part in over his life. When he graduated secondary school, his experience as a cadet allowed him to join the Alderaanian Self Defense Forces at an advanced rank. He excelled in his training and was assigned to the Self Defense Force Anti-Terrorism Task Force. This was met with support from his sister and mild disapproval from his father. Conversely, his decision to go to the Border Alliance was opposed by his sister and encouraged by his father, giving him mixed feelings when he left.
