DESCRIPTION​

The main focus of the Ruusaan variant is solely to improve on the Aka'jor's existing attributes while keeping its primary roles of transportation and law enforcement in mind. It is earning its name as "the Reliable One" in its continued use, decades after its first conception. Common additional modifications are incorporated in such frequency to remnant Aka'jor class shuttles that they are beginning to be made by MandalMotors directly. These include but are not limited to concussion missile pods for further armament, smart ship AI suite for co-pilot functions and class 5 hyperdrives for easier intragalactic travel or for the prolific bounty hunter, an additional brig compartment.

The most common and standardized modifications to the Ruusaan variant is firstly a ground sweeper light laser cannon. Prior to this the shuttle was unarmed, now the ground sweeper provides antipersonnel and antivehicular defensive measures. While it is unlikely to provoke hostilities when concealed this characteristic also aids to keep the weapon safe from damage when not in use.

The Ruusaan variant has a brig integrated into the shuttle's design for easier and more secure transporting of dangerous prisoners. This cuts the shuttle's carrying capacity in half but the shuttle still is quite comfortable with this addition. An illegal modification that is completed by most customers is the starship thrust de-limiter. MandalMotors has never officially endorsed this process but they have not been exceptionally strict when it comes to warranty services. The complimentary Yellow Box that comes with a ship's purchase have directions a step away from telling an owner how to make such a modification, if only to inform them it would officially void the warranty.

LEGALITY​

Variable. While a symbol of an older era, the ship is pretty rudimentary and innocuous. Only adding armament or modification would alter this detail. The only illegal modification on this ship is its starship thrust de-limiter which is disabled by default. Otherwise everything just requires a license to use in most systems of the galaxy. These are most common in Mandalorian space where much more heavily armed ships travel.

INTENT​

To test the limits of a modified shuttle and to provide a cheap beginner ship for Mandos that isn't a starfighter or a gunship. Based on the Aka'jor class shuttle.

RESTRICTIONS​

The power and space requirements still apply for all modifications. This is likely only available to members of the Mandalorian cultural faction. But it is possible to acquire one if you are not Mandalorian through story.
