DESCRIPTION
The Aj^6 was a cybernetic implant designed to support an organic who regularly had a need to interface between complex computer systems and other organics. Initially produced to support operations such as air traffic control, and factory operations, it became used over time by communications outposts and listening stations, and then by various black market hackers. The device was implanted against the skull, sending nano threads into the brain to form a link between the biocomputer unit and the cyborg - the process was known to be incredibly painful, and had to be done without painkillers. Most noticeably, the Aj^6 increased the intelligence of the wearer, enhancing logic and reasoning capacities, enabling the wearer to analyse data at around twenty times the speed of a non-cyborg operator. Furthermore, the internal computer of the device could store huge amounts of data, with additional information being able to be added through the use of knowledge cartridges. These items would be plugged into the back of the construct and could hold data on any number of subjects, enabling the cyborg to load and process subject-specific data as and when they needed.
If interfaced with a network, either directly (aka: plugged in) or indirectly (aka: wirelessly) the wearer could communicate directly with that system. The direct connection was much faster and more reliable, with indirect preferred for simple tasks. Despite the advantages of the construct, the Aj^6 was known to limit the wearer's personality, turning them into cold, calculating and reasonably emotionless walking machines.
