When Agnes was born, a cold night of 6,938 BBY in the colony of Carida, the Republic had already been at war with the Jedi Exiles for decades. As the youngest daughter of an impoverished family, life was never particualrily easy for her. Her two older brothers, after a brief stint at the military academy were sent off to fight elsewehere when Agnes was still a young child. With her father suffering from a rare degenerative disease, the task of maintaning the household fell upon Agnes, her older sister and their mother. With little to no support from their local government or the Republic, it was not long until the increasingly high cost of Mr. Shrine's treatments became incompatible with the already austere lifestyle the Shrine family was used to. Two days before Agnes' 13th birthday, her father commited suicide. Nerves caused him to misfire and shoot himself in the neck. He bled to death slowly, and his blood spilled all across the room, painting it a dark crimson color. It took Agnes and her sister three days to clean.

Over the course of the following two years, Agnes' brothers concluded their participation in the war. A spokesman for the Grand Army of the Republic came to their house one morning, and promptly took his leave after a lengthy discussion with Ms. Shrine which left her in tears. Agnes soon learned that her second eldest brother had been listed as missing in action after a skirmish with Exiles. Her eldest brother came back home shortly, wrapped in a Republic flag to the sound of sorrowful trumpets. He was given a closed casket funeral and the Shrine women were advised against seeing his body.

Despite the loss of all the Shrine men, Agnes' mother and her daughters knew they had to keep going strong. They owed their brave young men that much. One year passed as usual for them, with several highs and lows. Despite having lost so much in so little time, the Shrines remained strong and hard-working, managing to make it through the year without major problems. Then the day came.

Rumors began to surface that the decimated Exiles were retreating from the Core Worlds through the Colonies in a mad, bloody charge back to the Outer Rim. The military academy in Carida began to see what was probably the biggest influx of recruits since the war had reached Republic space. This also meant that enlistment and active recruitment were intensified and the usual restrictins on recruits were off the table. At only 15 and 17 years of age, respectively, Agnes and her sister Osha were drafted and sent to the academy, much to the dismay of their aging mother. Training was intense, focused on getting as many young men and women combat-ready in the shortest amount of time as possible. Agnes trained extensively, both physically and menatlly to become a soldier. She was taught to handle and utilize firearms, along with hand-to-hand and melee combat. In less than a year, the Republic turned dozens of kids into trained soldiers. Each ne of them believed themselves to be invincible. Such feelings are common for young soldiers during times of conflict, as Agnes would later learn. She also learned that such feelings rarely lasted long.

The ill-fated day of the Exile's arrival finally came when Agnes was only 16 years old. The presence of the Jedi Order's Battlemaster cast a sense of certainty within those standing at the ready to fight. What happned next was a blur. Dozens on both sides were dead in seconds, hundreds in minutes. To this day, most who where present at the Skirmish on Carida are reluctant to discuss it in detail. Agnes herself witnessed many of her friends die impaled by crimson swords, reminiscent of the color of the pools of blood she spent her thirteenth birthday cleaning. Others were ripped to shreds by otherworldy abominations. The Battlemaster himself died at the hands of the Exile's Warlord. The Skirmish on Carida was short but brutal. Those who lived through it would never forget it, and Agnes in particular never did. For weeks after the battle, she would wake, cold sweat and hasty heartbeat while memories of the day plagued her mind.

The Skirmish on Carida marked the beggining of the end for the conflict in Republic space, and therefore the end of Republic intervention in the war. Shortly after, Agnes' mother died of natural causes, effectively leaving Agnes and Osha as the sole surviving members of the Shrine family. Both sisters were allowed to discharge in order to return to their home and rebuild their life. While Osha didn't hesitate to return, Agnes on the other hand refused, requesting that she be allowed to continue fighting. Despite Osha's insistence, Agnes was transfered to a Republic fleet which was being prepared to accompany the Jedi Knights led by their new Battlemaster to what would become known as the Mid Rim Campaign. Agnes left behind her old home and her sister on the eve of her 17th birthday.

Over the course of the following three years, Agnes found herself fighting along the Northeastern Mid Rim side to side with Jedi and fellow Republic soldiers. Despite her young age, during this time she was promoted to the rank of corporal and fought on several planets. However, as time went by, it was clear that support from the Republic was waning. Supplies were increasingly reduced, requests for reinforcements where politely refused and calls for help were rarely answered. Growing increasingly frustrated, Agnes began to resent the Republic's ruling body and the inefficiencies of their bureauocracy. Despite this, she and the others who joined the lone fleet destined to aid the Jedi kept the fight going well into 6,918 BBY. It was arounf this time that with the Exiles now believed to be completely driven off Republic space, the entirety of the remaining Grand Army of the Republic was called back. Reluctantly, Agnes returned to the Inner Rim where the fleet was promptly separated and reassigned to different places. A short while after that, the conflict in Republic space was declared officially over and the Grand Army of the Republic was dissolved, it's integrants allowed to return home. Agnes returned to Carida and reunited with Osha, who believed her sister had surely died fighting in the Mid Rim. Overjoyed to see each other again, both sisters continued living in their parent's house for years to come.

Living as a citizen did not suit Agnes at all. She found it next to impossible to find steady jobs due to her lack of practical experience and her so-called "psychological issues" she had allegedly obtained during her time in the war. Even when trying to land work in fields she thought her time in the army would be a boon to such as private security failed spectacularly. Apparently, those same psychological issues made people think she wasn't safe to be around firearms. Angry, frustrated and borderline depressed, Agnes thought about leaving her planet but she did not have enough money. Her so-called pension was practically non-existant and Agnes resented the Republic for the poor treatment it gave it's veterans. She could not imagine who thought it would be a good idea to simply dissolve and disband an entire army wih hundreds of members, send them all home with shitty pensions and call it a day. In truth, most veterans of the Grand Army had been born in planets already devasated by the war and were enrolled at very young ages like Agnes herself, which at the same time prevented them from studying or pursuing experience for other jobs. They were put through hell, fighting to protect the Republic and then thrown out into the streets with zero work experience, lacking studies and an array of seemingly invisible mental issues that prevented them from ever having a normal life again.

Osha, now married and awaiting her first child, was not blind to her sister's plight. During this time, Agnes found a constant source of support in her sister and her new husband, a man named Geoff Paul who had also fought in the war and set up his own cargo shipping business afterwards using old familiy money. He earned decently and was always willing to help Agnes out, to the point of inviting her to live with them after the Shrine's old house fell apart from age. Geoff frequently dealed with characters of dubious natures, who where quite obviously involved in shady deals. Over time, some of these customers began discussing business of another nature with Geoff, who politely declined but informed them that he might know someone who was interested.

At first, Agnes was reluctant of getting involved, but with encouragement from her brother in law and suprisingly from Osha as well, she came to the realization that working under the current law and rules was bound to get her nowhere due to her exceptional circumstances. She was good at one thing and onde thing only: fighting. And there was no way to make a living out of fighting for her without going past the law sometimes. Nervously, but also self-assuredly Agnes accepted the offer and soon found herself under the employ of small time crime bosses and drug traffickers. Her service in the war and her skill at combat made her very attractive to these people. Work often consisted of guarding people and goods being moved to different places. On occasion, the opposite was asked of her and she had to take away people and goods being moved by rivals. Eventually, the requests started to increase in difficulty, moral ambiguity and illegality, namely killing. The money paid to Agnes for her services also increased, convincing her to turn a blind eye to the obvious wrongdoing she was commiting in order to increase her quality of life. For all intents and purposes, she was now a bounty hunter in everything but name.

The next years were kinder on Agnes, who now had a reliable network of people who would often call on her to eliminate certain targets, and the money they paid was good. Around this time, Agnes also became better acquainted with the Hutt Cartel. Most of the people she worked for had ties to the Cartel, so it wasn't difficult for Agnes to gain a direct connection. In time, this connection was rewarded with a larger network of contacts, access to better information and equipment and, of course, much bigger paydays. All of these boons suited Agnes just fine, and she commited herself to working for the organization directly.

PERSONALITY

Self-centered is a good word to describe Agnes. Since she was a young girl living in the poor slums of Carida, Agnes learned to always fend for herself and not rely on anyone who isn't family. Her service in the late years of the war and her subsuquent forced retirement from the amry further encouraged this line of thought and also alienated her from the Republic and other forms of organized government, believing firmly that any ruling body which doesn't share the plight of it's citizens is incapable of understanding them and thus useless to them. This idea was reinforced when she saw the Republic discard it's veterans and leave them to fend for themselves in a world unfamiliar to them, with little to null chances of stability.

Her military service, starting with the brutal Skirmish on Carida began to desensitise her to the loss of human life and taught her to avoid forming close attachments to the people around her. Her subsequent time on the other side of the law further desesitised her to the point where she became able to kill in exchange for credits with no remorse. She doesn't particularily enjoy killing, but she is also intelligent enough to recognize that she is able to utilize the skills the Grand Army of the Republiv taught her in order to eliminate unwanted people and receive mone for it. In a way, she perhaps even sees this as some way to get back at the Republic who abandoned her by using the tools it gave her to break the laws it established.

Despite what the text under the headliner "mental health" on her medical report may say, Agnes is convinved she has no mental issues apart from occasional nightmares or memories from certain battles, particularly the one fought in her planet of Carida. STill, such events are rare and have never compromised her ability to function correctly or to carry out her job proffesionally. If anything, the aformentioned health subject is yet another reason for Agnes' dislike for the Republic, whom she blames for labeling her as insane which prevented her from gaining employment after the war

Agnes doesn't dislike people, and is actually rather open about socializing and meeting new people, and thus doesn't consider herself a "lone wolf". That said, Agnes is wary of putting her trust in others, constantly expecting to be let down if she does. Her serious trust issues can ogten be a hinderer when trying to work with others. This trait is moslty due to her difficult childhood and her military service, along with the feeling of "abandonment" she has towards the Republic. As of now, Agnes is only comfortable with confiding and trusting in two people only; her sister Osha and her brother-in-law Geoff.

Hey there,

Force Sensitive characters are not allowed to use armor with functions in them, even if that character is unaware of their sensitivity. Please either change the armor or remove the characters FS. Tag me when that is changed and I'll come back to review everything!

Hey @Raydo , would it be ok to use the previous armor if I specify here and anywhere else it may be relevant that her version has no functions?
