The Redoubt System​

In the main galaxy, the tides of shifting in the main galaxy, even the Chiss Ascendency far away in the Unknown Regions can feel it. The Chiss are a careful, meticulous and well prepared bunch of people, they want to be prepared for any eventually. There are still the Grysk, the Chiss' hostile neighbors also in the Unknown Regions to consider as well.

Coming out of hyperspace would come a ship direction of Chiss space. Grerse'dava'nlon would be on Mid Commander Clarr'eyn'acspalla's vessel. This 'Redoubt' system is a cluster made up many stars in close proximity which can cause problems. The way to the Redoubt made traveling difficul and potentially very dangerous. This where Grerse'dava'nlon comes in, as someone who has the Sight he can guide the vessel into through it all, using his ability of precognition to see the dangers and thus avoid them.

Once they were firmly in hyperspace, Davan would breath a quiet sigh of relief. "Well, we made it. This is the Redoubt. What now Commander??" the young Chiss would ask for the next step.

[Clarr'eyn'acspalla]

Reyna's mind was always turning, looking for the next step while still considering three steps after that. This venture out of Chiss space and into the Redoubt served many purposes, all of them important. Tides in the galaxy were shifting, even for the isolationist Ascendancy.

Reconnaissance was sort of Reyna's specialty. She'd been sent on information gathering missions before, but none quite like this. Their goal was to set up an outpost, an official installation. There were a lot of things to consider though chief among them was location.

Forward scouting identified several suitable planets a few weeks ago, Reyna replied, her gaze shifting from the viewport over to Davan. This one seems to already have an installation we could repurpose, She said, pulling out a datapad and handing it to the Sky Walker. It had an image of a nearby planet and a set of coordinates on the screen. No telling who or what built it, but from what we can tell it seems abandoned. It's near the center of the cluster.

Sinking back into her chair, Reyna's attention turned back toward the viewport and the streaking of hyperspace. Guide us in and land nearby but not too close. Reports may call the place abandoned, but in my experience things that seem too good to be true generally are.

Reyna knew Davan was young, all Star Walkers were. She just hoped he'd received enough field training that he wouldn't be completely out of his depth should they encounter.. resistance.

So there is already an installation on the world? It is surely not a Chiss outpost. This place is dangerous, Davan would wonder how primitives would manage to get through here. It was said to be abandoned, so they must not have been able to survive for long. Davan was told stories about people in the main parts of the galaxy, plagued by religious wars for ages time and time again. Contemptable "Yes ma'am" the young Chiss would nod and then set to get to work.

Not only is there their complication of the star cluster, but there are also the added complications of dense amount of asteroids and debris. Looks like old spaceship wreckage, perhaps others who were foolhardy to have tried. "It's going to be a bit of a bumpy ride". The sky-walker would put the sight to use. The Sight is allowing him to be aware of any dangers so he can avoid and navigate the dangerous. It would be a long ride, some turbulence, and a having to go around asteroids.

Through the viewport, there would be a world broken, split almost in half, but that's not the destination.

"The designated planet should be up ahead" It is.

"Preparing for entry, heading in on the planet coordinates."

Some more moments, after dealing with re-entry, they would be planet side now. The installation is just ahead.

There would be warnings from the ship's instruments, loud warnings all of a sudden. Davan would hiss and grit his teeth, it's breaking his concentration with the Sight. "Can you see what that is? I need to concentrate." Davan would try holding keeping the ship on course to land. It would though land somewhat gracefully near the large structure. Only somewhat, the ship would rock quite a bit. But they landed.
