Well then, since there is no action to impact, what do I do? Just post instead of him? I'm willing to wait. I have a bunch of other threads and I'm sure something came up. Kaz wouldn't just poof without warning us, methinks.
I am so sorry guys. D: My computer is shite at the moment, and I really am trying to fix it so that I can be more active here and other places.
I've been checking up when I can, and I'll write up some quick replies right now. I am really sorry for the wait. ;^; <3
The 48 hour rule applies if the person doesn't say anything and just vanishes. This isn't the case for Kaz. Regardless, Kaz, thanks for trying to make it work. A'den is right, as this needs to still keep moving at a decent pace.
Nah, dropping out should only be an absolute last resort. Just keep in touch and post when you can, and try to keep it within 2 days. Is that possible?
Btw I have no idea if my Force action was legitimate. Anyone feel free to judge. It was either wing it (I know about as much of the Force as I know about Pythagorean theorem) or click random Google URLs to preemptively research.
Since this thread is still serving as the OOC for both threads, I figured I'd make a comment about A'den's last post in the Sandcrawler thread.
That was a very well done post, A'den. I liked how the actions paced themselves in accordance to the actions you were responding to by deflecting the blaster bolts as Arcturus entered the room. The counter attack with projecting a flame is a good tactic in an enclosed area like that (especially a bottlenecked doorway), and I can especially appreciate knocking out the controls to lower the door. You attempted to force at least one opponent out of the room while isolated yourself with only one adversary. It would be a mild drain of Feeryn's energy, but worth the cost to balance the odds.
In the case that Arc and Kaz reply by taking the fire though (by either Arc jumping in the way to let Melhi in, or Melhi takes it and makes it in barely before the door closes), it would still be an effective strike which would do a good amount of damage. Burns are the worst, imo, as those injuries only get worse and can easily get infected with an offensive Force technique (higher advanced than acolytes, though). Just to note though, there would be an opportunity for either of them to act against Feeryn while he's targeting the door controls.
He just got online so he should be posting. ^^ Sorry for posting here, I'm just happy he's back. xD I don't want anything bad to happen to his characters because of his absence.
I got on to reply and then ended up having to deal with some drama over an im convo. I'll reply as soon as I can tomorrow when I get the chance. Sorry for the wait.
Arc, a few issues as I stated in a vm.
First off Feeryn has two lightsabers, you stated he only had one.
Secondly, I don't care whither you are shooting a Charric or not saying a lightsaber was wrenched from my characters grasp is a form of god modding because you are putting yourself in control of my character.
Thirdly, the door you said you "re-opened" with the controls cannot happen...the kenetic energy Feeryn used in the push completely destroyed the door controls, meaning this battle is now one on one.
Other then that good post, I will respond once you make said edits :)
I apologize, the deactivation of the left saber was so close to the torrent of fire I must have thought only one was active. I will edit my post accordingly. However, you moved to deflect the shots as your previous first action. If contact between bolt and saber is made, the effect is a saber wrenched from one's hand. The charric page on the wiki used to have a quote and everything from the Dark Nest series from Luke, I believe, stating such, but now it just says 'Charrics could not be reflected by lightsabers', which can be translated by someone who hasn't read the books as 'goes through lightsabers'. Very odd editing, but whatever, I didn't edit the blasted thing. I didn't post Feeryn trying to deflect the shots. I could edit it to both lightsabers, assuming he used both to try blocking the shots. I could not include the 'flying into the wall behind him' line, even though that's pretty much where they would go. But I took no control of your character in my post, instead stating the consequences of the attempted deflection. I will not change that bit unless one of the overseeing admins decides that it is indeed godmodding.
Second, your post makes no mention of the controls being destroyed. I have just read over it three times and it only says you sent a small force push towards the controls, and the door shutting. As such I will be leaving Arcturus opening the door as is.
Edit: I have changed the wording of my post to accommodate only a single shot getting through, since Feeryn deflected the shots with two lightsabers I assume, and a slight edit of the saber-wrenching bit.
Arc, there is no mention of a Charric blaster in Arcturus's gear...if you could link the ic acquiring of that weapon that would be nice. If not how did you acquire it before round 2?
Arc got the Charric blaster in a training thread between his character and my Sith Master. Don't remember which one, since we updated a lot of his gear ICly between our multiple training threads, where I used multiple characters. This all took place before Round 1.
I'd say that Arc is correct with the repercussions of deflecting the charric's shots. Of course, Feeryn still has a lot of freedom with how to react to the effects, but the effects would still happen.
As for the controls, I'm gonna go ahead and say they were smashed. A'den was pretty clear with his character's intention of targeting the controls to separate his opponents, and it's become a cliche effect in Star Wars that a damaged/destroyed control board will either open or close a door - thus, controls are broken. But that's not the only way to open a door.
EDIT:
(Only the first rooms were lightsabers-proof - the door was also sprayed with an intense heat, if I'm not mistaken. This detail could be spun a couple different ways, but heat generally relaxes a substance, making it less durable, depending on the material)
