OOC Note: This is an open thread for the Jedi and Members of the Galactic Alliance who are members of Star Squadron (Sorry if I've not tagged you in) - Death / PvP Etc All Disabled

latest

The engines of the M-Wing star fighter let out a long tired whine as they were throttled down into idle, as the fighter came to rest upon the surface of the hanger bay floor. The pilot reaching over for several switches - toggling them in turn as she powered down the craft, making it safe for the stationed ground crew to approach and start connecting the fighter to the various stations that littered the previously vacant bay. The pilot throwing her helmeted head back against the head rest of her seat within the cockpit, a resigned sigh escaping her lips as her gaze stared beyond the roof of her flight canopy towards the ceiling of the hanger, a light tutting sound escaping her lips as she mulled over her current train of thought.

Her reverie was broken by the sound of the ground crew attaching the ladder to the side of the Cygnet, her emerald hued eyes snapping away from the ceiling above and to one of the few members that had chosen to stick with the Galactic Alliance fighter squadron. A slight nod was offered as the crewman gestured that the ladder was secured, before the pilot reached over and pulled on a lever - opening the cockpit with a light hissing sound as it depressurised. Once the canopy had fully opened, the pilot climbed out of the cockpit and down onto the hanger floor below, as soon as her feet made contact with the floor, her hands made light work of removing the flight helmet. Shaking her head to loosen up the tangled mess of ashen hued hair, the pilot set the helmet down upon the wing of her fighter, before using her fingers to tease and roughly come out her hair.

Stepping away from the fighter, the squadron leader was approached by the deck commander, who like he often did snapped a salute in greeting to the woman. "Order's Ma'am" the younger male enquired as the female returned the salute with a respectful nod. "Gather the squadron within the briefing room in about 10 minutes" Eisa spoke out, her gaze moving over towards the shimmering blue wall that sat at the mouth of the hanger area, her gaze watching as other fighters came into view on their return approach from their last sortie. The Jedi Master's lips pursing in thought, as she mused whether that would leave enough time for the others to at least stretch their legs after being cooped up in their cockpit for hours on end. "Actually make that 30 minutes" She added correcting her self, before taking her leave and stepping out of the hanger and into the winding corridors of Star Base to her quarters.

Stepping into her private quarters, the ashen haired woman unzipped her flight suit, lowered it off over her shoulders before stepping out of the orange garment and placing it over the back of a chair. Her attention shifting over towards the kitchenette counter, to load a capsule into the drinks dispenser and pressing the activation button. A series of metallic tapping sounds rang out as her artificial digits rapping against the counter top as she waited for the caff to finish brewing and pour out into the waiting mug. Her eyes moving away from the steaming liquid, over towards the holo images that were sitting on the side table, a warm smile crossing her features as she regarded the collected images of all those she considered closest to her, from images of her daughter and her late partner, the impromptu group photos of the squadron messing about in various locations. A sigh escaping her lips as she moved her attention away from the photos over to her freshly poured caff.

Picking the cup, the squadron leader moved over towards the nearby workstation, a hand reaching down to take the console out of hibernation, her emerald eyes narrowing slightly as she skimmed over the various reports that had been relayed to her - periodically sipping at the warm beverage as she did so. Placing the cup down once the contents had been emptied, Eisa stepped away from console and made her way into her adjoining dormitory, slipping out of the remainder of her clothing before stepping into the shower. Her mind started to move back to her earlier thoughts as the hot water cascaded over her body, she was still at logger heads over whether what she was intending to do was the right course of action.

Stepping out of the shower, the Jedi reached out for the nearest towel, summoning it with the force before drying herself off and changing into a fresh set of robes before pulling her damp hair back into a tight bun and pacing back into her living quarters. Gathering her lightsabers, data pad and another cup of Caf, before setting off out of her quarters and along the winding corridors to the briefing room. Even though she looked as much as a drowned wamp rat being so fresh out of the shower, she knew that the squadron by now would be used to the sight of the woman coming out of her post flight routine.

Arriving ahead of the rest of the squadron members, Eisa stepped into the dimly lit briefing room and quietly paced her way over towards the control bench at the front of the room, And, sat down in her chair, leaning back she booted up her holopad and continued to read through the recent batch of messages from the various Jedi and agents that still made up the Galactic Alliance, periodically pausing for a moment to take a sip from her beverage, whilst she waited for the rest of the squadron to arrive.

Kyi's Malla starfighter had arrived and docked inside the hangar bay shortly after Eisa herself. As the starfighter's engines shut off, the freckled Knight removed his helmet and shook his head to get his hair right again and with a sigh, he patted his most trusted friend Exdee who was standing on the cockpit's console and beeping away. As the cockpit's canopy slowly opened to let the ageing Knight and his droid out, he noticed that Eisa'a starfighter was already empty - he laughed to himself as he thought to himself, she must have been as eager as he was to get out of the cockpit. In his younger days he most likely would have been fine with spending a bit more time flying around, but now he was an older man, forty-four years-old to be precise, he preferred to spend most of his time out of the cockpit if he could. Although, he still did love to fly.

Leaping out of his cockpit, he respectfully waved off the deck commander with a friendly smile as he shot straight to his private quarters, Exdee hot on his tail. The freckled Knight didn't want to be rude but, he was eager to debrief and relax, and maybe speak to his wife or children before turning in for the night. Upon arriving inside his quarters, Exdee ran off and climbed onto his bed, bouncing and chirping away. Kyi smiled before beginning to unzip his flight suit's jacket, revealing a white t-shirt under it - however, before he could finish completely undressing, he noticed he was receiving an incoming transmission and his holocomm device, the freckled Knight approached it and accepted the transmission which revealed his children on the other end, covered in blue from the hologram's coding.

"Yo Dad, sis and I just wanted to--hey!" he uttered in annoyance as the freckled Padawan was shoved away by his blue-eyed younger sister "Mission was successful, Dad. We'll call you when we're on our way back to base, love you!" Kora said with a smile and nod, reaching over to end the transmission but before hanging up the call, Mael attempted to get in one last word "Wait, Dad! I need to ask you and Mom about--" although, the transmission was cut off. Kyi let out a jovial laugh, his children's dynamic always gave him a sense of pride, the freckled Jedi appreciated Kora's duty bound nature and ability to get things done, while still remaining compassionate and caring. While he also appreciated Mael's humour and tendency to not take things so seriously - his personality was a much needed presence in his life.

With that, Kyi continued undressing and proceeded to switch into his now white and grey Jedi robes. After that, Kyi left Exdee in his private quarters as he made his way to the briefing room - inside, he saw Eisa already sitting and reading from her holopad as she drank her coffee. Grinning, he approached her and sat down opposite her, electing to not say anything as to not disturb her reading. He would wait for his other fellow members to arrive as well.

Despite being the caretaker of an orphanage, secretly a makeshift school for orphaned Force Sensitive children to be raised to control their power and learn the Jedi way, Omnis still found time to be an active member of Star Squadron throughout the years. His bomber was definitely showing signs of age, at least on the outside. He'd kept the Magnum in top shape otherwise, usually using the extra space in his bomber to carry people from place to place instead of seeing actual combat. One thing he always did was keep his paint job as pristine as he could, an homage to his family as well as being a beacon to those who knew who the floral pattern belonged to. Most things in his life were a show to Omnis, though he played his part gladly.

"Commander Swan, it's always good to see you! Kyi, you're looking well!" Omnis gave a smile and a show of flexing his muscles playfully. He was quite ripped now, a far cry from his scrawnier form as a young man, and constant comments about it made him play up the strong man act among friends and colleagues. "I was thinking of putting on a show about the Squadron, identities disguised, of course. I think the people would like to see a good space drama play out. I was thinking of playing up the old Empire as an oppressive tyrant, banning the Senate and creating weapons of planetary destruction just to hammer home the point. A squadron of starfighters is the only thing able to take out this weapon, though first they have to find the plans to find the weak point, first. It's still a work in progress, but if we can come up with a good screen play then I'd love for the Squadron to come to the premier!"
