_The Force was a fickle and elusive bitch for Jack Tamblyn. He wasn't graced with the natural predisposition that those of the Jedi or Sith Orders were. He wasn't even one of the marginalised few who were Force sensitive, but overlooked due to circumstance, or personality traits. He simply was just normal. So why then, many have asked, does Jack Tamblyn concern himself so heavily with the affairs of the 'Sensitive Few'?

Herdessa was a lovely little world in Independent space, free from the woes of Cartels, Imperiums, and Rebellions. It was probably for this very reason that Ebberla Daw had chosen this as the location for a meeting with Jack Tamblyn. A laundry list of other conditions were imposed upon the meeting including (but not limited to) Jack coming alone, without any bodyguards, no support in orbit -- the list went on, but sometimes these little meetings were worth it.

Jack had landed his freighter in one of the public spaceports, and had pre-paid for the adjacent landing pad for Ebberla to make an easy and convenient landing. Never late for meetings with important people, Jack had actually arrived nearly a day in advance of the scheduled meet up and had set about keeping himself busy by tinkering idly with some stocks and investments. Relatively boring by the standards of most, but Jack enjoyed throwing money around the market, manipulating it for maximum profit.

Every few hours or so, Jack would meander up through the luxury interior of his Nelletta-class freighter, the HCV Socorro, settling himself into the plush captain's chair and checking the scanners and message banks for any sign of his appoint. Lacking any such presence, Jack set about pulling from his pocket a small jewellery case, and inspected its contents momentarily before stuffing it gently away. This, of course, was a classy gift for Ebberla's new child.

Now all Jack had to do was wait to see if Ebberla and her child would, in fact, show up...

Ever since his little hunter showed up, Ebb had debated to even respond to Jack's invite. She toyed with his bounty hunter before shipping her back and left him a pretty ridiculous demand list for him to follow; even by the end, Ebb was laughing to herself about the list she had made. Overall, the Grand Master knew, Jack would do it, and wouldn't skim on the details either.

The Grand Master had known about his arrival for a couple days now, as she expected, he did arrive early, as it was difficult to hide a luxury freighter in general with Corellian charm in these days. Though, the Corellian woman had been on Herdessa for almost a week now attending to her own business and spending time with her daughter, Vida. Ebb had found herself a private flat in the capital city to temporarily stay in. It was quiet and fresh, unlike the circulated and recycled air on the ships she used to travel. Not to mention, Vida enjoyed it also as she laid on her blanket on the floor, kicking her feet and reaching for the animals that hanged from a mobile. Though she did hold a bad feeling, she will carry her own youthful reckless personality and will have an issue with stealing rides in ships when she got older. Though the thoughts trickled with her now, she knew they were still years away from when that could pose an issue.

Ebberla tucked her hair behind her ears and adjusted her cowl before scooping up Vida in her arms. "All right min larel, lets get going." she said kissing Vida's head, adjusting her child's baby cap and then set out into the city with her senses on alert. She knew where Jack wanted them to meet him, but the Grand Master wasn't one who frequently stuck to plans. Moving amongst the traffic of Herdessans, Ebb stopped at a street cafe and picked out a table on the patio outside. She bounced Vida gently on her knee and the infant giggled and smiled to her mother's play as she took out her holocomm device and sent Jack a message.

Smiling, and holding Vida just far enough out of the comm's reach as she tried to grasp for it, Ebb spoke, "Good Afternoon Jack, its a lovely day, we're at the little cafe near the Herdessan market square. I think this place would be more pleasant than your ship." she spoke and shipped the message to Jack. Ebb bounced Vida some more as she started to fuss as her mother refused her the comm device, "And now, we wait, won't we Vida?" she said turning the child to make herself more comfortable; Vida had found her mother's fingers and were chewing them with her gums, "Hopefully for not too long."

Jack's comm beeped, and unsurprisingly, Ebberla had changed the plan. It was to be expected. He was one of the galaxy's most notorious criminals; he maintains that due to a lack of evidence to support that claim he had never been convicted. Jack also did send a person to invite Ebberla to meet, whom delivered the message Jack wanted to see Ebberla and her baby - some might have called that request 'creepy'. Jack mused on the thought and put his commlink away, climbing out of the comfortable chair. A quick check of the jewellery box in his jacket pocket, Jack then pulled out his hornbill blaster, and dismissively tossed it onto the Captain's chair, "Not like it'd do me much good when Ebberla cracks it…"

While eager for the meeting to take place, Jack rushed for no one; he took his time getting down to the cargo area of his ship, and clambered comfortably into his Hawk-class airspeeder. The journey to the market was uninterrupted, and Jack enjoyed the relative comfort that his new speeder afforded him. The small white craft settled down into a space directly in front of the cafe. Due to its modern repulsor technology, it barely whipped a gust of wind, or displaced a grain of sand. A fact that Jack was grateful for as he knew Ebberla would probably remove one of his limbs for kicking sand into her child's face.

The cockpit opened, and Jack coolly climbed out, and adjusted his jacket - the three piece white suit, ever present. Spotting Ebberla in all of half a second was a task that Jack took great pride in, as even the Jedi Grandmaster had to keep her head down in such places. The Jedi were, after all, still very much being hunted. As he approached his fellow Corellian, Jack offered a warm smile; genuine and honest in every way. "Thankyou for coming." He smiled and motioned to a seat at the table opposite Ebberla, intentionally distancing himself from the child so as not to spook the Grandmaster's protective nature. "May I?"

Assuming that he had been given permission to sit, he did so, unbuttoning his jacket as he reclined into the chair. There was an awkward moment where Jack smiled at Vida, then back at Ebberla, as though he was meeting his childhood sweetheart again for the first time after twenty years; both proud that she had made a name for herself, but jealous that he wasn't included in the journey. Quickly moving past it, Jack offered a genuine statement, "I suppose congratulations are in order," Jack smiled, and nodded to Vida. Jack, not being particularly savvy on the forefront of children, he took a stab in the dark at the gender of the gawking little kid, "She's gorgeous."

He offered a smile to Ebberla, "You've done well on that one."

There was a familiar ripple in the Force that pulsed stronger against Ebberla as Jack approached in his silent speeder. He was very showy and Ebberla would be lying to herself if she denied that it never impressed her. She shifted in her seat, moving Vida to a more comfortable position as the waiter brought out her food for her and and her daughter. The infant's eyes light up as she watched her mother eat and tried to grasp for the spoon that she held in order to explore what her mother just put in her mouth.

Jack had taken a seat across from her at the table and a smile graced her features as she perked up upon seeing him. He smiled to her in return and then to her baby girl, who starred at the stranger in wonder, waiting to see what he would do. Though Ebb has heard many compliments about Vida, Jack's held a sincerity that warmed her.

"Thank you, I can't seem to get enough time with her. Though I wish, which must be this motherly instinct everyone tries to tell me about, I wish I could have more just like her." She explained to Jack and tried to see if Vida would eat some fruit puree she had ordered.

"So how is my second favorite Corellian?" she asked him as the baby spat out the puree and instead found her fingers more enjoyable to suck on.
