From the time he was a pupa on Tafanda Bay, one of the herdships floating above his ancestral homeworld Ithor, Aamaw could feel the living energy of the universe calling out to him. As he grew and learned that call only became stronger and following his first molt at the tender age of twelve, the call of Mother Jungle was too strong to resist and the Oracles sent him to the sacred lands below. For a single day and night, he walked among the baffor groves and drank from the cool springs untouched by war or strife before settling in a clearing to meditate. When he regained consciousness from the Mother's embrace he found an indyup sapling had grown alongside him and seven sparkling baffor seeds arrayed around him in a circle. Gathering the seeds, the sapling uprooted at his touch and Aamaw returned to the herdship only long enough to thank the Oracles for their blessing before booking passage on a freighter heading to the Outer Rim. The Mother had shown another jungle world calling out to him and the Light that would be waiting to welcome him home.
And so Aamaw found himself a Padawan at the Jedi Temple where he became a devoted student of the Living Force. Believing like many Jedi that he Force would guide him to his appointed task, Aamaw threw himself into learning the philosophies and skills of the Jedi Order.
Having passed his Trials at the age of 25, Aamaw set out into the galaxy following the will of the Force wherever it may lead him. For some years he worked as a healer in a clinic on Ryloth, offering aid to the Twi'leks and other travelers. Much of his time was spent moving between worlds part of the Restoration Initiatives, with Jedha being his most recent residence. The Force is calling him home to the Temple and, unsettled by the growing darkness in the galaxy, Aamaw has returned to Ajan Kloss to join his Jedi siblings in deciding what must be done.

If one were to try and describe Aamaw, the simplest thing to say would be that he has an adventurous zest for life. Deeply in tune with the Living Force, the Ithorian actively searches for the connections between beings and finds joy in their growth and happiness. Living in the moment requires embracing each experience as it presents itself, and Aamaw has never been one to turn away from trying something new and exciting. 'Curious as a Lothcat' is an insult to the Lothcat's intelligence when referring to the Ithorian knight.
Still, despite the exuberance with which he approaches lifes' many twists and turns, Aamaw feels very deeply for the suffering of others and works to heal all hurts, both physical and spiritual. He often finds himself in quiet contemplation and has a deep well of insight to offer, though his words are usually coached in metaphor and his own strange brand of humor.
He also is, according to various unsavory figures Aamaw has worked with in the past, a cheat at Sabaac and is not to be trusted. The Ithorian denies all such allegations and insists that the ban from Canto Bight is due to unrelated circumstances.

Like many Ithorians in the order Aamaw found a particular knack for healing, forming bonds with creatures, and influencing plant life. These skills would come in use for his first posting on Anoat where he and other Jedi worked to stabilize the atmosphere and purge the toxins released by the Empire and in his years as a wandering healer. He also has a keen grasp of telekinesis and has been studying the principles of Aerokinesis after seeing its usefulness on Anoat.
Although he never found a kyber crystal that resonated with him, the Ithorian spent many weeks coaxing his Indyup Tree from the grove he'd planted on Ajan Kloss into growing a thick offshoot suitable to be turned into a staff that he has grown rather skilled at imbuing with the Force. Lacking a proper lightsaber, Aamaw's stave fighting is built off of a Djem So variant.
