DESCRIPTION
The A6 Juggernaut is a super-heavy armored ground vehicle which was originally designed and produced by warship manufacturer Kuat Drive Yards. Developed for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, the Juggernaut functioned as both a logistics carrier for transporting troops and materiel overland, and as an armored assault vehicle for punching through enemy lines.

The A6 Juggernaut was the largest of the Juggernaut-series vehicles, and despite certain mechanical issues which were never satisfactorily resolved during its service life, it was among the most feared ground vehicles on the battlefield. Faster and more heavily armored than the Republic's large walking machines, it could carry 200 tons of cargo, up to 300 troops and a crew of 20. Armament consisted of anti-personnel blasters, various laser cannons and missile launchers; its shear size and weight combined with its speed allowed it to run down enemy troops and even crush lesser vehicles and fortifications beneath its solid duranium wheels. It would often be used to force breakthroughs in enemy defenses, which would then be exploited by troops and lesser vehicles; indeed, the Juggernaut was well equipped for this task, being able to bring some of its own reinforcements along as passengers and cargo.

The A6 Juggernaut, for all its size and power, was not perfect. Although very little in the way of physical obstacles could stop it, it could be its own worst enemy; it used a massive, highly complicated 10x10 drive-train to get power to all of its wheels, excellent for scrambling over rough terrain but prone to breakdowns after extended use. On long combat deployments, regular maintenance was essential to keep the Juggernauts rolling, and even then it was not uncommon for them to experience catastrophic breakdowns, with at least 1 vehicle in a formation often being detailed to carry an inventory of essential spare parts.

After the Clone Wars, the A6 Juggernaut was kept in service by the Galactic Empire, although it more or less ceased to be a front-line unit, with many of its duties being taken on by the new AT-AT walker. Most Juggernauts were assigned to rear-echelon support roles, or to low-priority garrisons on worlds which required vehicles capable of operating on rugged terrain. Some front-line units would still retain theirs, however, with a few A6 Juggernauts serving at the Battle of Hoth, among other engagements.

In the present day, few A6 Juggernauts are left rolling outside museums and private collections. If properly maintained, however, they are hard to kill, and still see service on a number of worlds, either in the hands of planetary defense forces, or with civilians in a demilitarized form. Wrecks and mothballed examples can sometimes be found at old Imperial-era depots.

LEGALITY
Restricted. The A6 Juggernaut is indisputably a military vehicle. Civilian ownership is heavily regulated on most worlds.

INTENT
To bring an iconic vehicle from Canon into our site's fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
A6 Juggernauts are powerful military vehicles, and functional examples are not viable for individual ownership. They maybe be acquired as faction assets with proper staff oversight.
