A Year of Darkness
Personal Lore
The swamps of Dagobah ran humid and moist, everyday a struggle for survival. Prey and predators were one in the same, even for the apex predators such as dragonsnakes. Size and ferocity meant nothing! The swamps bred life, but far more took them.
And it was on such a day, where it seemed the humidity radiated to higher levels, seeking to strangle and suffocate the planet's inhabitants, that the young girl Xhexania took her first steps into truly understanding the nature of the Darkside of the Force; under the guidance of a man who took the mantle of Father. With promises of power and knowledge, he brutally and viciously assaulted her mind first, using darker and sinister emotions as the catalyst to propel her further down the path he had chosen long ago; the same path that led to his eventual Exile.
Young she was, thirteen, she had failed him several times; and though he claimed he loved her like a real daughter; the physical beatings became punishment for failures began. She began to learn, accept, and understand the meaning of hate; yet, however, she looked up to this man. Prior to their joining, she had lived alone in the swamps dodging monsters and eating what she could just to survive. It was these times of loneliness that the foundations of her insanity and her fractured mind truly began to manifest; but only years later would it be solidified.
Together as Father and Daughter, Master and Apprentice, did she fully begin to embrace what she was, who she was, and what her destiny was through suffering an pain. Each passing day, each passing week, and each passing month she felt stronger; more connected to this thing called the Force. Only through her Father's teachings that she embraced the possibility that all this talk of power and knowledge spoken from his lips could be hers.
However, deep in a heart that time was turning icy cold and dark, she believed this man was holding her back; possibly keeping things from her. The training, physical and Force related, always seemed to keep her several steps behind him; as if he feared one day she would surpass him, though her young mind was unable to fathom this reasoning.
However, her thoughts had betrayed her!
During one of their training exercises in melee combat, she with a makeshift weapon and he with his lightsaber, he reveled to her in a most dissatisfied way he didn't appreciate her thoughts. Savagely he attacked her, damaging and wounding her left lek with several glancing blows of his weapon. If not for what she had learned from him and her days living alone, she feared he would have killed her; but once again her mind believed this was just another one of his harsh lessons. But what baffled her the most about this event, he forbid her from taking measures to properly heal her left lek; which led to it's grotesque scarring.
And as the days passed, she fought not only to learn her lessons and prove successful; but to ensure her survival. She wondered, at times, when she laid down to sleep if this Father truly cared about her growth, or whether he was angry and bitter for his own failings and was simply taking it out on her. So when she slept, she slept on guard.
Then one day, a year to the date they met, a ship landed and they had been rescued. Exiles, like her Father, had come to Dagobah; and only then did she feel concerned. Her Father spoke with his friends, never speaking of her. When he looked at her in quick glances, his hand tightened around his weapon's hilt. And if not for a female Exile who spoke to her and brought her to the group to meet the others, she believed this Father would have either killed her or forsaken her back to a life of solitude.
And it had finally come to pass, the year of darkness for the young girl known as Xhexania.

The intentions behind this lore is to fill a year gap mentioned in her bio from when they met (and trained) until their rescue. It also reveals how her left lek had become scarred (mentioned under Appearances) whilst also showing the early stages of her insanity (mentioned under Personality) which are all include in her character sheet.
It also will play a role for certain plot ideas surrounding this and lore submissions.
